Feck, last minute what to do?
Heres the problem, we moved house about 3 weeks ago, the new digs have a sat dish, but its a bit wonky and the signals not great. Trouble is my HD box doesnt seem to like it, and its only single feed, and worse, it doesnt always record!!!!!!
Should I suck it up and hope for the best?
Stick my old sky+ on and hope for the best?
Try and set up my HD box with the sat from our old house (hanging out a window or something) and hope for the best?
A combination of all the above.
A bit late I know, but I'm starting to panic, its thursday.
HELP

Get a professional installation guy in, get rid of all the old stuff, but do it now, otherwise you may regret it.

Games are on ITV. So go to Cash Converters. Buy an old VCR with multiple record function.
Old school admittedly.

Just get a freeview+ box. Unless, like me, you don't have a normal aerial. I'd go with the other posters and get a chappy in.

Or you could just walk round to Comet and get them to change the channel on every TV they have to ITV, claiming you wish to see for yourself the quality of ITV's HD broadcasting on a variety of different equipments.

You can get pretty good internal aerials for Freeview (£15-20), however depending on where your telly is and where the signal originates you may have a lot of mucking around to get a good signal, it might even work with your Sky box (freeview channels only)

I made a Sky dish out of a old dustbin lid and a few discarded wires.
Admittedly it only picks up rubbish.

Call Sky and get a chappy over to sort it. They are normally pretty good and don't charge for installation when existing customers move house (I've been looking into this as I'm about to move).
Call today and don't delay, fudge the recording as best you can this weekend if need be but don't leave it any longer!

It is the prefect reason to excuse yourself and go to the pub...if the missus/your mum complains you can blame it on technological failings.
In addition i would sue Sky as this must be some sort of breach of human rights

Re: Feck, last minute what to do?
If the dish is already there, it probably just needs aligning properly. So if you cant get an engineer there to put a new double LNB dish up, realign the old one yourself. All you need is a compass and this:

I have to do mine regularly because every now and then a bloody great buzzard bounces up and down on it!
