Found this on FleaFlicker: "The Bills have reportedly begun negotiations with QB Ryan Fitzpatrick on a contract extension.
Fitzpatrick will earn $3.195 million in the final year of the backup contract he signed in 2009. He wasn't believed to be the top priority heading into the season, but a near flawless four-touchdown performance in Week 1 may have sped up the process. Coach Chan Gailey "thinks the world" of Fitzpatrick and appears ready to go forward with him as the franchise QB beyond 2011."
Do you think his performance was impressive enough to show he should be the Bills franchise QB from now on? I think they might be over reacting to one game if they've moved him up to the top of their priorities, but then I don't know who they had above him.

Re: Week one discussion thread
He was impressive towards the end of last season and has had some plaudits as being a solid QB that doesn't make big mistakes. I kind of think too many teams sit around waiting for a Manning/Brady/Rogers to turn up and forget that its very possible to win consistently with an above average QB that has a quality supporting cast and a good defense.
