Well worked try by the Irish, but you have to give it to these Americans, they are tackling their hearts out.

Tommy Boooooowe!!
Knew it would come. They've had all the posession and are capable of doing much more with it in these conditions then USA are, just so much more used to it.
Deserved score there, although horrible for USA to concede that just before HT when they've been defending so well.

Pants! Typical blydi gung ho Yanks trying to break people in half instead of watching the ball! Jenno could have had three penalties against him in the build up!

Massive try for Bowe.
At 0-3 at half time USA go in with belief they can cause and upset in the second half having withstood a lot of pressure from Ireland.
0-10 with the timing of that try and some of that belief has to have been shaken!

I was just typing when he got over that he'd score...he's like that. Think he's having a shocker, and he pulls up his socks.
Must bring back memories for him, he scored his first try for Ireland against the US.

We've had so much of the ball, there's only been a few occasions when USA could have scored. I said the weather might keep the score down; but we have very little incision in our play.
What about Tom Court and the Irish front row? They're putting it up to the Yanks in every scrum.

USA not particularly renowned for their scrummaging though notch. Need to see Ireland scrum against a decent unit, although you can only beat what's in front of you I suppose.

I think thats broken their resolve. Early try in the 2nd-half and we will rip them apart.
May need Reddan on. But, its a lot better. Total commitment. Scrum has been excellent.
Believe.

Good try from Bowe, never gonna be ana easy game, conditions playing their part.
Also USA tough team, big hits.
Great atmosphere there, fair play to both sets of fans.

Court is doing well but we are really missing healy's carrying. Best, Bowe, Sexton and Murray will have to improve in the second half. Some of the half backs control has been appalling.

Re: Ireland v USA - Live Match Thread & Post Match Discussion
The RTE panel would want to relax a bit. The conditions are shocking. The reason Ireland are making more handling errors is because they're trying more.
Our set piece is destroying them, and now we're 10 points up. It'll be grand.

Disagree T, you've done a lot with that, just inexplicably wasted a fair few overlaps with dropped balls, which you can partly put down to the conditions.
Much better in the backs then in any of the warmups imo.

If these conditions continue, I would bring ROG on. He loves it. Pin em back and shove em over the line.

That'll only work if he's the only kicker so far in the wc not to be affected by the ball/conditions/whatever it is!

Bang on Gibson, this is the type of conditions that ROG excells in

This roll away rule is sometimes overused,,how can a player roll away if the opposition has deliberately gone over him to prevent him from rolling away.

I think Sexton is blowing his chance for next week! We won't beat the Aussies without a high percentage goalkicker.

The point is the player shouldn't be there. If they're in the way they're in the way. However I do think that if a side just drop off their feet on top of them the penalty should be reversed.
