The perfect golfer?
First topic message reminder :
Just for fun.
As far as I'm aware there has never been a player with a truly complete game, the players who have been most successful have excelled in only a couple of elements of the game at any one time and have simply been less bad at the other elements than their peers.
My question is:- Which players have been the best at each element of the game? (please don't go back to days of yore, most of us aren't that old)
I'll kick it off with a few suggestions.
Driving: Westwood.
Fairway woods: Harrington.
Long Irons: Garcia.
Short Irons: Donald.
Short Game: Mickelson.
Putting: Faxon.
Imagination/Creativity: Seve
Mental Game - Matchplay- Poulter
Mental Game - Strokeplay- Faldo (reluctantly)

I wear white socks sometimes - though my shoes are trainer-types so (IMO) they look a little odd with dark socks!

Re: The perfect golfer?
There's some funny fashions about these days Mav.
For me the worst offenders are males wearing skinny jeans (It's not 1982), those oversized wooly hats that flop over on the top of your head, peruvian yack herders hats and rolled up jeans "Robinson Crusoe" style with white plimsols on.

Have to say if I ever was in a position of power in this country I would ban skinny jeans on men.. I don't how a)real men get their calf muscles into them b)how they fit comfortably around any mans crown jewels and c)how any man can think they look good....
As for those hats look morre like tea cosy's. Then theres the jeans with elasticated bottoms!

Re: The perfect golfer?
Mav, don't know about you but I can't find anything that isn't in that overly slim fit envelope these days. Now, I'm a slender/athletic build (I'd be a terrrible hypocrite if I wasn't) but I abhor this skinny look going around. Haven't been able to buy a decent fitting pair of strides for years.
Perhaps i'm just not camp enough to carry the look off.

Re: The perfect golfer?
Mind you they do look good on women of the right shape..
Good example walking in front of us the other day and Dame Doon asked me to close my mouth.

SR - Same here with work shirts, I'm in good shape regular gym goer and former army boxing champ so have since upon leaving forces kept up my exercise and shape. Mrs Mav being a trendsetter bought me a slim fit shirt thinking it'd look good under a suit and I looked like I was wearing spandex! To tight fitting across the chest and no room to move my arms. Yet buy a modern regular fit and feels like I could fitter another person in it as the sizes are now ridiculous

I think as a rule, tight jeans seem to be favoured by ladyboys and those that are unsure of their sexuality
