Better units I think Nick, not just about individuals a lot of the time. Look at Mujati this season, he's had trouble against most LH's but looks a world beater with Tonga and Hartley beside him

anyone read greenwood's latest blog? Reckons England by 14 points, says having Flood and Wilko playing will pin the French right back and unleash our backthree and Tuilagi.
Says that Tuilagi has been causing defences all sorts of problems and imagine what he will do when England start spreading the ball wide and actually put him into gaps.

SBW on the wing....jesus, hard call on Kahui, read Guidlford was injured also.
Can see Weepu/Slade really clicking, takes the pressure off goalkicking for the young lad (He's norm an 85%+ in S15 and ITM!?!?). Think Weepu manages better too although isn't as crisp as Cowen.

Guys what do people make of Julian Savea? Would be keen to get people's thoughts on him as he's got a lot of potential (8 tries in 12 games) and was world young player of the year in 2010.

Savea is a decent attacking threat, but lazy in defence Chris. He is also suspect under the high ball and in poor conditions would be a defensive liability for me.

Difficult to say really, but from the outside lookin g in he doesn't seem like he has a great desire to knuckle down and to get to the very top of the game.

Who knows Chris, might take another few years, might not happen. There's a plethora of wing talent in NZ, Hosea Gear was 25/26 before he got Int recognition

That;s the problem I have - if he did knuckle down then he could be absolute world class, but if he doesnt he's just a good club player.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership season 4 homepage
Oh, don't get me wrong, I wouldn't have started either of them this week, but stnick said we weren't allowed to select them anyway.
Irish team for this week...
15. Tom Homer; 14. Topsy Ojo*; 13. Jonathan Joseph; 12. Steve Shingler; 11. Adam Thompstone; 10. Dan Bowden; 9. Darren Allinson;
1. Clarke Dermody* (Captain); 2. David Paice*; 3. Faan Rautenbach*; 4. Nick Kennedy*; 5. Bryn Evans*; 6. Declan Danaher; 7. Jamie Gibson; 8. Chris Hala'ufia*
Replacements : 16. James Buckland; 17. Max Lahiff; 18. Paulica Ion*; 19. David Sisi; 20. Alex Gray; 21. Guy Armitage; 22. Adrian Jarvis; 23. Paul Hodgson*
Pretty happy with that to be fair. At home we should have enough to get the TBP against a dogged but unimaginative Worcester outfit.

Wasps have named a near full strength team versus Bath this weekend - with Robinson back in the 10 shirt I fully expect a win. Just wish we had more than Payne and Broster - Castex looks good every time I see him, but never starts and we also had a young Argentinian we signed who doesnt get near match day squad yet.

Probably our best backrow. Corbs and Garvey only way you could improve that pack really.
I was told they werent allowed to be selected. strange if Tuilagi is playing as Tagicakibau is still in NZ or Samoa, although he is injured.

I'd have liked to see Danaher and Gibson the other way round stnick, but am guessing as they both can play 6 or 7 the numbers don't really matter and they'll share the responsibilities.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership season 4 homepage
exactly
Danaher has always been a 6 whereas Gibson has time to develop.
Can see Gibson becoming a bit of a Moody and play as a 6.5.
Interested to see what sort of a team Booth will put out in the LV. Be good to see Spratt, Guy Armitage, Watson, Lahiff, Sandford get games, but also people like Ansbro, Sinclair and Ion.

I've only seen highlights of the game driver, but from what I saw and have heard from people who went to the game, our backline looked dangerous despite our pack getting a bit of a shoeing, and Thompstone provided some good go forward out wide.

in my opinion he hasnt been the same player since his bad injury. thats not to say he wont get back to that, but he used to be a great try scorer and played a bit like ashton, tracking well. he hasnt scored since his return but im sure once he gets one try his confidence will boost and should improve his performances.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership season 4 homepage
Faan got cited for illegally entering a ruck, pretty ridiculous citing he did barely anything wrong.
Hoff will probably get a ban, was a pretty sick tackle/flying headbutt/forearm smash. although, the fact that he is playing on sunday is a good sign as usually a team would 'lay off' a player if they expect him to be banned as it helps to reduce the length of the ban. and it may of been decided that a yellow was ok.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership season 4 homepage
That is a nonsense one for Faan, but I think we all expected Hoff to get cited and banned. I did wonder when I saw him in the team for this week.
My understanding of the process is that the citing can only upheld by the panel if they deem it should have been a red, as the referee clearly saw it and dealt with it.
Would love to see what the referees report says about. I'll have no complaints if Hoff does get banned for it as it was a hefty and pretty reckless hit, but the fact that Morgan hasn't ended up injured as a result may help him if his argument is along the lines of 'it looked worse than it was'.

Entertaining first half. Sam Warburton been absolutely superb and giving Ireland's back row a schooling. Wales need to suck in more defenders and then send it wider to Shane and North when they get the ball quick. The defence will take it out of the Welsh though so could work against them.

Welsh backrow have really stood up so far, been so clever the way they have played the Irish. Warburton and Lydiate have been awesome - the Irish have looked awful today.
Hopefully I wont get marked down for playing Phillips anymore :-)

Ho wmany people are signing Welsh players in the next window then?
Steven, you might have got the best deal going when you signed Warburton.
Kind of glad Wales won as if England go through have far more hope of us beating them. Now very nervous about the England game!

Wouldn't say Ireland dominated the breakdown? Both sides won most of their own apart from a few turnovers from Warburton and BOD (SOB might have got one as well)
I reckon that was probably Wales' final in all honesty

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership season 4 homepage
Awsome Welsh defensive play, got to credit Edwards with the way he had them set out. Think that won them the game in the first.
SOB was totally kept quiet, can't believe it! Warbs was good on defense but again was pretty quiet, esp at the breakdown where I didn't see him have any impact.
A couple of good games in 3 years doesn't me like Phillips lol. He still plays his own game and looks for contact too much.

Phillips was sensational today, in wet conditions where you need a physical game then there is no one better.
I thought Warburton was incredible today, certainly not quiet mate - not sure what game you were watching as he was all over the park, slowing Irish ball and leading the Welsh brilliantly.
Nervous about this now...
