Fresh thread. Morning!
Forget what we did to the Aussies (well don't forget it, it was awesome just put it to one side). Still work required. Wales looking good against Fiji so let's hope we're up by halftime so we can start resting the more breakable players. Say a prayer for young Jonny as well should we need his kicking boots.

No he got it right Willy. No foul play in goal. He can't rule on it if he deems the offence to be committed in the field of play.
Sure it doesn't matter much now!

Re: Ireland vs Italy match thread
great break by Trimble and Earls scores with a stupid dive. I really don't like him (sorry that's another irrational feeling like what I've got with Ashton, can't explain it!)
Nice for him to get tries on his birthday though.

No foul play IN GOAL area. The TMO cannot make decisions on things outside the goal area and that's why he said what he did. Should have been a penalty try but...
Disgusting dive by Earls. Italians are well beaten and he arrogantly rubs it in. Shocking. Hope he never scores a try again. EDIT:
Good win Ireland

Re: Ireland vs Italy match thread
Grand SLAM better than a RWC SF? You must be joking Alan?
They are meaningless in this context. This is the World Cup.
A RWC SF gives you one other small thing.. a chance to make the Final.
Dreamland. Cant see anyone stopping us tbh. Not Wales. Not England or France.

Absolutely right Thunor. Apart from the Earls thing. Sure he's just a young lad, having the craic, scoring tries and the like. 'Tis all a bit of harmless fun so! Sure you'd hardly blame him for that! Not like Ashton the sneering English imperialist with his choreographed swan dives; a symbol of English superiority and subjugation. Nope. Totally different. Not at all comparable. At all.
You are right about the TMO decision though

I'm going to call it and say a 'Celtic' side will be in the final and the winner is going to come from SA, NZ ,Wales or Ireland.

If Ireland want to beat Wales then they need to sort out their first half performance.

One thing's for sure there is going to be a lot of tension on here this week. I'd just like to take this moment to say how much I enjoy this place and long may it continue.
But by the way Wales are going to get spanked.

Even I laughed at that Rodders.
I'll put it down in maths for you men and weemen from the valleys. In today's games:
North: 1 try
Earls: 2 tries
Accordingly Wales would need 2 Norths to make 1 Earls. Get the cloning technology sorted out pronto!

North scored 1 assisted in another 8 and yards made is measured in miles.

don't worry Rodders while Ferris, O'Brien, Heaslip and POC are all tryign to bring North down, that'll just free up space for the Doc (sometimes knows as The Jaw) if he's fit anyway! - see tis all just part of a master plan......

ha man I feel so giddy, we're in a quarter final again, can scarce believe it!

roddersm wrote:I just don't think he's got the game for this level now eirebilly. Hes far to deep. Just like Dan Parks for Scotland he stiffles all the attacking ability from the side.
I thought he was very poor and took the wrong option 3 times in the Italy 22.
Sexton is the fella who stands too deep,ROG attacks the gainline and it lead to some attacking opportunities. Anyway,Sexton did great too except for that bizarre up and under. Grerat physicality in the second half. We upped the tempo and our backs should at least some invention with our tries. One of the things that pleased me most was Earls' try. Trimble could have taken it on and try to get a spot in the team but he did the unselfish thing and give it to Earls. Shows the team are a unit and it is great to see that. Not happy with the fecking swan dive though.
Murray I thought had a very good game, his passing was crisp,he got great protection and he made a good break too. ROG was decent,he shovelled the ball out at times, his place kicking was great. As was Johnny's. I would be afraid of the Welsh. The D'Arce had a great game today but against two physical centres and a big winger, I hope we don't have a Rougerie scenario again. Bowe was unlucky he deserved a try.
