The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the collage of pub regulars. We've got the big group pic from the HEC final in Cardiff, plus insets of ll those who couldn't make it
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Gibbo, any idea what the ticket situation is for that weekend? Last I heard, Glas was sorting tickets for Scarlets v Munster, Asbo was sorting tickets for Chiefs v Dragons, and I have no idea who was supposed to be getting tickets for Bath v Leinster...

I dunno what I'm going to be doing that weekend. I shall deffo be going to Scarlets v Munster, not sure about the other two yet, it feels so far away to be planning for!

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
The last will likely be the BIG problem tbh - the Rec isn't the biggest ground, and the travelling Leinster support is usually pretty good, so unless one of the Micks has a secret stash, I suspect that we may simply end up sampling the atmos in Barfluckless_pedestrian wrote:Gibbo, any idea what the ticket situation is for that weekend? PS I'm all over Chiefs vs Newport tickets

Yeah, by phhokin talent.
Cari educated me that it's Rees. Not Riiis.
All I know is, when these players get back from a RWC Final, the PRO12 will hold its head high. It has been the best promo we could ever get. I want Wales to win it for me mates on here.. But bigger picture... to shut de rest of the PRO12 detractors up. To bow to the best league in the NH and to suck it up.

I have access to 4 tickets. I'll look for more. Dreamer, you are a rugby fanatic. You were there with us in de Diff. You shared our joy. So, is that 3 Welsh fans tickets I have to get then?
Roysh, I'm on a mission from BOD.
Must get meself ready... I'm meeting a Scottish babe later. She's half Scot/half Squaw.

Ah Gibbo I'd much rather the tickets go to Leinster fans first, if they are in need of one, more than happy with a pub. It will just be great for all of us to meet up one way or another

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
For the rugby weekend,I can supply the Agen/Sharks tickets.
I think we should be counting on Gibson's inside Lady for the Bath tickets, and I'm not coming all that way to watch a match in a pub,Leinster supporters can see them more frequently than I.
Elsewhere, ie France, they are doing their utmost to equal England's RWC antics.
Olivier Missoup(RCT) and Remy Martin(MHRC and a good name for cognac) had a big fisticuffs on 30/09/11 in the reception after the match.Result,Missoup accuses Martin of racist insults, and Martin(10 stitches and broken dentures) gets Missoup charged with gbh in a sporting arena(thought rugby fields were for that)
So Missoup is in a cell this evening, suspended by the LNR and the blogs are full of it.
Boudjellal will start looking for a replacement; as Bakkies is not sure of passing his pre-signing medical, Mourad has already been in contact with Simon Shaw, just in case.
To paraphrase the Toulon chairman,"I signed Bakkies to be Bakkies, I don't want walking wounded"

It's horribly long Mrs Penfro. Can't wait for the team announcement, that might settle me a little bit.
My flatmate and I have been planning for Sat morning. Walkabout opens it's doors at 8am so we're aiming to get there by at least 5 to. It was really busy even at 6am for the quarter final so we want to at least be able to get in there! You going to be coming in for the match?

Why is Gatland waiting so long to announce his choice? Does he have serious injury problems,do the chosen few already know and he's trying to keep the Welsh supporters on tenterhooks, or has he just not made up his mind and is waiting for the weather forecast?

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
dreamer,
That amazes me, not announcing a side; the players must know who's playing, it makes no difference to the opponents who are playing to their own strengths, so why keep his cards to his chest.Perhaps an antipodean habit?
And Hook/Priestland=straight swap
ML announced Yach, but he hasn't been declared fit;if so it'll be Parra/FTD;what's the problem?

well like Lucky says we do have a doubt over Rhys, but he did it before the Fiji match as well with no injury concerns, seems to just like announcing it on a Thursday!

Hi all.
Long time no see.
I have submitted my thesis and am now exhausted. Why is it that printers KNOW it is an important job and play up? An hour long print job took until 5am this morning.

Hi Chef.
Will you be cheering for Les Bleus on SAturday?
Binders tried to foul it up at the end - told me I had to have "this form" in the front of my magnum opus. They didn't actually show it to me and I thought they would know the drill. "This form" was for an undergraduate dissertation - I had to tear the pages out of the bound copy. What pillocks.

Kia,
Joce would like to know if
"Why is it that printers KNOW it is an important job and play up?"
is the subject of your thesis, and what are your conclusions?
Won't be cheering for anyone on Saturday, Kia, WORK,but you can save me a ticket for the 10th December.

On the basis of deep and exhaustive enquiries in the fields of historical and social studies, my conclusions are

Laptops ALWAYS die three months before the the writer is due to finish a thesis. This ensures maximum difficulty as it is usually a problem with the disk. The thesis in its current will have been backed up on alternative media maybe only paper ) but notes, references etc will be on the kaput idsk
Printers have a MD switch (MD=mood discerning). This automatically switches on when fresh non-pre-used paper is inserted in the feed tray. This helps the printer decide how awkward it should be. It will print the first third with no problem lulling you into a false sense of security then it will have a jam in the BACk of the printer ....

I think the timing works out that you can watch Bath v Leinster and still get the train down in time for Chiefs v Dragons Pete. Not 100% sure on that though.

I thought the Scarlets - Munster match was a lunchtime / early afternoon kick-off with Bath v Leinster a late afternoon / evening kick-off, both on the Saturday.

11/12/2011 12:45 P3 Bath Rugby v Leinster The Rec
11/12/2011 17:45 P4 Exeter Chiefs v Newport Gwent Dragons Sandy Park
Both on the Sunday, not sure what the train services are like. Looks a tough ask to do both to me.

Just looking at the trains, to get into Exeter beofre kick off you would need to get the 14:13 from Bath, which would mean missing the end of the Bath match.

To be fair, given that you'd need to walk to the station as well you would have to miss the whole second half.
