cricket section
First topic message reminder :
its really good to see that the cricket section has really taken off. I remeber at the start when there was only a handful of us, and now there's so many of us making a lot of posts and threads, good to see the cricket section, and the site going from strength to strength everyday

Re: cricket section
At the end of this week.
The quiz doesn't warrant being a sticky at the moment, cf, given how little activity there is on it. It'll bump back to the top when someone posts on it, so I don't think there is a need for it to be stickied.
Better to keep the top of the page free and uncluttered, I'd say.

Re: cricket section
fists, straight off the bat I would suggest a pm to all the posters on 606v2 who hail from the test playing nations.
Don't know if you can sort a list from where people hail, but a personal invite might make them interested, even if they like me are mostly rugby fans.
You could even incorporate some form of debate competition between the cricket and rugby guys ( don't know what) it could at least get them interacting a bit.

Re: cricket section
Biltong, there's no quick way that we can find out where everyone hails from, I'm afraid, and doing so along with sending a PM to each isn't really feasible in terms of the hours it'd take.
There are certainly a number of posters on 606v2 that are in to their cricket but don't often debate on the cricket section, but they do at least see that the section is here, and may wish to stop by from time to time, in which case we can hopefully trap them here!
I'm thinking more outside of 606v2, to entice new members entirely, any thoughts? Things like mentioning 606v2 on our personal facebook accounts etc can help, too.
Stella, if we ever get such money it'll be arranged

Re: cricket section
didnt bother making new topic for this as pointless but...
if aussies whitewash india, then south africa move back up into 2nd in the test rankings ahead of india.

Nothing terribly original I'm afraid. But just to remind again about the Surrey posters who are currently only on a summer contract with 606v2. En bloc they've all done more than enough to merit full contracts. Hopefully they will reappear in about March so Guildford and I with others' assistance could aim again to draw them in. There's some real quality there

Take a look at this guys http://www.alloutcricket.com/
Our friends at All Out Cricket have kindly added a link to their 606v2 discussion of the week on the right hand side of their website main page. Hopefully it'll see us get a few more new members.
As always, I'd encourage you to take a look at the blogs on their site (and enter their competitions, they have some superb ones!), there is some excellent stuff.

Off skiing for a week guys. Enjoy the Test, I'll try to catch up with the scores from my mobile. Play nicely (not that I need to tell the best behaved section on this entire site that), and I'll see you in a week.
Re: cricket section
Oh and just ask Sainty or Kiwi to sticky the Test match thread for you
Take it easy, all.

3rd on the 606v2 all-time runscorers list isn't bad CF, behind KingKenny and Linebreaker.

Re: cricket section
hey guys am thinking about running a county championship fantasy league to run in line with the season when it starts, would anyone be up for taking part?

Re: cricket section
absolutely, wouldn't be easy to administrate, though. A lot of work in that.
Presumably you have to pay to join the online ones like the Times etc?

Yep. But i think it's because they do the £100,000 prize, where as most others is either an opt in thing or just your standard fantasy league.

I'd like to second what Guildford has said. Sometimes you might feel hard done by and not listened to (and obviously I don't know why you are leaving), but we really do appreciate your enthusiastic contributions.

Too late, fellas. Cricketfan gave me his reasons, all of which I respect. His account hasn't been deleted, though, in case he should ever wish to return he needs only to send an email to the admin team.
