The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing picture of newly retired Gareth 'Alfie' Thomas.
Also a special picture of Thomas Domingo and wishing him all the best on a speedy recovery.
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Morning Breaker. If anyone in Newport's having a barbecue he must be insane. It's about ten degrees celsius and drizzling.

Yeah, I saw the story breaking with an interview with RD. Good move imo... will be interesting to see how he goes closer in.
Just had the mother of all thunderstorms here - saw a decent size branch travelling horizontally @ 50km/h past my window a few hours ago. Before that it was 30... but it felt like 35. I can't cope with the heat like I used to... don't know what's wrong with me?

Just heard something about Argentina playing next year's 4N match at Skilled Stadium on the Gold Coast. It's good that they are properly in the 'southern fold' now and we will have the opportunity to watch them play rugby and have more variety in that comp.
I wish them well.

Morning folks please.
Breaker stay indoors mate. I would be pissing myself if I saw a tree branch travelling towards me at 50kmph.
Swanny, you might get some part-time stuff over the Xmas period. I noticed you had retail experience. I'd drop a line to a few places in your area.

Sale have signed Richie Gray from Glasgow. Don't think asbo will be too pleased with that.

Sad news for Boxing fans. Joe Frazier has passed away. Another victim to the Big C. RIP Joe. Boxing was such a big thing in my youth. A lot less sport on telly then but this was before Sky got their greedy hands on things.

Bore da pawb/Morning all.
Not been in much recently, been feeling like I need a bit of a break to try and sort myself out.
Swanny - I sent you a msg on fbook but not sure if you've seen it, but here's a for you and I'm sending positive thoughts your way.
That's gutting for Glasgow about Gray.

Fairly good news for Ulster. Not so good news for Munster.
Ulster trio Stephen Ferris, Tom Court and Johann Muller are all in contention to face Clermont Auvergne in Saturday's Heineken Cup Pool 4 opener.
Munster's Keith Earls has been ruled out for four to six weeks after sustaining medial ligament damage in his side's defeat by Leinster at the Aviva Stadium.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Gutted for Asbo and Glasgow fans. And (no offence Swanny et al) Sale? I know it's a straight road back to Scotland from Manc, but you would have thought he'd have gone to a top four side. He was developing a personality cult in Firhill, kids were wearing masks of his face. Disaster for Glasgow, but Scotland? in the short term no, but better attendances for the regions, better results in Europe and the Pro12 are vital for Scotland long term. Couldn't Sean Connery sponsor his wage bill or something?

That sort of reminds me of the Wallaby team... except we have 7 or 8 players missing

Stag, at least the cover you have for each of those positions is a reasonable player. We have lost Pienaar and Payne. We have gained Marshall and D'Arcy/Danielli

Could be worse Stag, you could be on the road in the first round. Playing in TP is worth a few points on the board from the off.
one of my mates who has hated Leinster for as long as I’ve known him just told me he was at the match last week and will be going to a few more in the future. We’ve turned a corner, if we can get this fella supporting us then we can get anyone…

Stag -
Do any of you ever get the feeling that you're stuck and life is just passing you by? Coz I feel like that right now, and have done for weeks. Just feel...I dunno, like I need change (which is weird for me coz I hate change). Just feeling really blah (I can't think of any other word to sum it up)

Don’t know Hughie, think he was there with work. But he said he’ll be going to a few more so hopefully that’s on his own steam.
I’ve to find a bar in Bandon that will show the Leinster match on Saturday afternoon, Cork bound on Friday. Should be fun to be in my blue gear behind enemy lines

Hughie - ha! maybe. Dunno. Can't move anywhere till June though anyway because of my contract on the flat.
Lucky - yeah, reckon I'm going to start looking for a new job in the new year. Waiting to see if I can go on this training programme first because that will look really good on my cv, then I'll start looking.

Thats true I suppose guys.
I just hope that Varley, O'Mahony, Barnes and Murphy front up this weekend. There's a big difference in class.

I know what you mean Dreamer. I thought long and hard about moving to London up until I got this job. Being honest I think my girlfriend would love to move abroad for a while she's feeling a bit like you are. My advice is get busy living - join a team or club, take up a new hobby, get a new job etc

Curious decision from big Richie - Sale doesn't seem like the most obvious of destinations. I'm going to wait to hear more details before I comment further. Massive loss to Glasgow, altho Tom Ryder had been playing well before the world cup players came back, so it'll be a boiler room of Ryder and Kellock going forward which isn't too shabby, with Verkabel on the bench

Cheers for the advice Stag. I am trying to keep myself busy, there's just not really all that much to do here though (at least not that interests me). Am home this weekend though so will have a good chat with my mam and dad, they usually help sort me out.

Dreamer,
I did feel like that before I headed to Uni. Sometimes, as has been said, a massive change is needed.

Rav, I suppose I am. I wouldn’t call it “meeting” them though. She’s just going down to see her mam for the weekend and me and her stepdad will spend our time in the pub. It’s a pretty tidy plan.

Question: Are our Cardiff based regs headed back to the diff on the Monday of the meetup.
The train cost from Cardiff to Chester is £18
The train cost from Exeter to Chester is £95
HUGE difference.

I'm heading back on the train I think on the Monday Stag from Exeter to Cardiff. Haven't actually checked train prices or anything for it yet.
