The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of Gibbo's Ma and Brad Thorn above the bar!

Morning all.
Lots of aspirin plus 4 hours sleep please.
I took last night off as we had a poker night at work, did I miss anything?
The £50 profit I made was nice, getting home at 1.30am wasn't.

It's interesting. Having a U20 RWC on your CV is handy, though he's probably underachieved with Auckland. He got the sack from both the U20 and the Auckland INL Cup roles in November, so he's been on the market for a little while. http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/rugby/provincial/6000005/Anscombe-fed-excuses-before-his-ditching
The malaise in Auckland rugby is somewhat concerning. Given Pat Lam's results with the Blues he may be job hunting too (there's rumours about Bath).

ah my sister is funny.
She read my article on v2journal about the Scarlets match and saw obviously my real name at the top. Then Mam was showing her this site and she saw that someone called 'rugbydreamer' had copied and pasted the whole thing (she didn't know that that's me!) She was properly outraged that someone had "stolen" my work

Hadn't heard that. I'm pretty sure NZ hasn't designated the Baby Blacks as our "A" side even though the Junior ABs haven't played for a couple of years so he could be a good catch as a project player. He's starting for the Blues this weekend, though that's because of another father's issues - Michael Hobbs has returned home as his father Jock is dying http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/rugby/6546788/Former-All-Black-Jock-Hobbs-critically-ill
Jock Hobbs was a pretty good openside and ABs skipper before concussion forced him out of the game. And in late 1995 he probably saved southern hemisphere rugby by persuading the Sean Fitzpatrick's All Blacks not to defect on mass to Kerry Packer's World Rugby Corporation.

Hobbs was very influential in the NZRU boardroom until his illness. I gather he was a pretty useful lawyer too

Are you absolutely sure that Dan Tuohy was at Ulster before he went to Ex?
Are you willing to pay up if (when) you find out you are wrong?

Howsaboutya Bikkies?
Looking forward to the match this weekend?
Ah,
Memories!
I remember this fixture 2 seasons ago. Rava gave us his ticket and we took our wee fella to Croke Park for the first time. Trying to figure out which Scot in a skirt was Asbo, which was difficult as they all had his name on them!
Resusitating you with crisps in Fagans!
Gettiing lost because they wouldn't let us out of Croke Park the same way we went in!
Ahhhh!
Hopefully you will teach those wee kilties a lesson this time!
