Re: Quiz Questions
Good answer.
It wasn't white when it was originally built though.
It got whitewashed for a reason.
The question isn't phrased too well though, so I'll give you that.

Re: Quiz Questions
It was to make it look as though all was well with the young republic, fresh coat of white paint to cover up the black fire damage and then spend a couple of months behind the new-looking facade sorting out the interior mess.

Re: Quiz Questions
I didnt know the real reason so just googled it - quite fascinating really!
I have put the answer in the spoiler as I didnt want people to stop guessing but I am guessing from the lack of response that people dont know!
- Spoiler:
- The name “White House,” however, was not used officially until President Theodore Roosevelt had it engraved on his stationery in 1901. Prior to that, the building was known variously as the “President's Palace,” the “President's House,” and the “Executive Mansion.”

Re: Quiz Questions
I couldn't help but notice what a blistering start you've had to the 606 SportGuru HC league Hobo, most impressive.
The "British Army's" amphibious assault on Washington was, and possibly still is, the most impressive co-ordinated raid on a Capital city there has ever been in the history of warfare.
Who has a question for the quiz?

I think they are all too old. I think that film was around 1990 which would make him 36 and everyone I've thought of is over 40
