Unpopular wrestling opinions......
Hopefully this will spark some debate, what do you like/dislike that goes against the general status quo....
ED please refrain from commenting... your man crush on Heath Slater has inspired this post.....
1987 - 1992 > Attitude Era
Triple H vs Taker Wrestlemania 27 was not a classic
The GTS is a terrible move often poorly executed
The greatest heel in WWE history is without doubt Vince McMahon

Re: Unpopular wrestling opinions......
a hell of alot of memorable moments have come from vince's character so i agree with you there.
absolutely love punk, but theres something i dont like about the gts. maybe the fact that it isnt really a wrestling move..
also agree with you on wm27, it was very slow. the spot at the start with the cole mine slowed the match down completely, all i really remember after that move was the finishers and chair shots.
and i cant comment about the first one as i started watching in the attitude era

I think John Cena isn't given nearly enough credit for his ability in the ring. Watch his first big match against Angle to see what I mean.

I agree in Vince McMahon. I've always said he is the greatest heel in WWE.
I also think Stephanie McMahon's heel turn was the best I've ever seen. Which may be an unpopular one. But I thought it was excellently executed.

I think Ryder was great as the underground underdog who fought to get noticed - His online video's were entertianing to begin with but I must admit i haven't seen one for weeks... I can't put my finger on it but he's become stale very quickly

Re: Unpopular wrestling opinions......
Continuing the 'love in' from the other thread i have to agree with all three points:
GTS- nearly always executed poorly, takes to long to get into position and is easily countered! the best finishing moves have and always will be explosive moves that can be hit any time any where such as the stunner, sweet chin music, RKO and the rock bottom
Vince- He even crowned himself the greatest superstar of all time on one of those special raw shows a while back i think it was the 800th episode?! He played the authority heel better than anyone has, had or ever will, i know he had the perfect foil to bounce off with Austin but when i was younger (so young that i believed Kayfabe) i hated vince so much and to draw that kind of emotion you have to give him major props.
And finally taker/ HHH at WM was not a patch on either of the previous two with HBK nuff said!

Punk should just stick to the Anaconda Vice its a far better move....I don't like finishers that cant be performed on the entire roster... Theres no way he's getting Henry or the Big Show up for the GTS

true to a point but in reality Cena is just not that talented! He is imo is the luckiest SOB maybe in the history of pro wrestling, he found himself in the right place, at the right time, with the right gimmick for that time and he got incredibly over. Fair enough he executed that gimmick well and the wwe machine decided to get behind him and 10 world titles later he is the biggest pro wrestler on the planet! In regards to ability he dosent really have any, his finishing move is a glorified firmans carry for gods sake!

For what its worth, I do think he shines more in matches that aren't technical masterpieces. His I Quit match with JBL stands out for me as an example of Cena at his best, more a brawling type offense which IMO he does very well.

Re: Unpopular wrestling opinions......
TNA flair > WWE Flair
TNA is regularly more entertaining than RAW
ADR is much better than he gets credit for. He is held back by creative.
WWE doesnt use its veterans correctly. Nor does TNA but they are closer.
Christian should be in Cody's shoes - he has the right charisma and age to pull off the importance of the old school Intercontinental title. This is also his level.

Re: Unpopular wrestling opinions......
I've never been a fan of Flair at all but his promos do make me laugh.
Bobby Roode was being hyped up far too much as the "good guy", as was his friendship with Storm, to ever win the title as a face after losing to Angle at BfG. They just went overboard with trying to get over what a good, hard-working, honorable guy he was!! I was itching for him to turn heel after all that.
The old hands can go on for as long as they like, in whatever capacity they see fit as long as it doesnt effect their health. I await the first ever "Zimmer frame on a pole Match"..
I would like to see the Hardcore title back (minus 24/7 rule).
I liked the league system that TNA did for BfG and would like to see WWE give something similar a go.
Some of the TNA knockouts matches has some pretty decent wrestling in them. Way better than the Divas.
I want to see Wade Barrett as champ just so i can see an Englishman with the title just once!

I almost never don't enjoy an episode of Raw or SmackDown.
I know a lot of people criticise the shows, but there is always something to keep me interested, and I just enjoy watching wrestling!
I agree with those saying Cena has more ability than he is given credit for, even if sometimes his mic work is nerdy and cringeworthy.

I agree with this, but it hasn't always been the case for me. Only in the past year or so.
On Cena - I think he's good. And I have enjoyed his mic work over the past few months.
I thought Naked Mideon was one of the best gimmicks ever. If only for William Regal's reaction when he fought him on PPV.
I don't think Divas are attractive.
I quite like John Laurinitis as a character.
I think technical wrestling is boring.

Owen Hart was never good enough to be a main eventer
Chris Benoit should be remembered by WWE
Chris Jericho is better in everyway than CM Punk
John Cena is better than the highly overrated Randy Orton

Divas wrestling is underated and unfairly treated. There have been notable examples of PPV matches involving them trumping the main event. Usually involving Mae Young.

I agree with all these!! Sometimes its far too easy to think "they could have done that better" all the time or worrying about what they will do rather than appreciating what is actually happening at the time. By the time it is appreciated, its too late!
As much as i like Booby Roode (slowly turning into a massive fan, especially with the heel turn) he needs to cut his hair. By the end of a match he looks like he has stuck his fingers into a plug socket.
Kaientai with their EEEEEVIL gimmick was awesome.
And for the brief amount time it was about, Naked Mideon vs Regal was very very funny. And it was Regals reactions that made it.

Origin of the word
Originally a 'croupier' meant one who stood behind a gambler, with extra reserves of cash to back him up during a gambling session. The word derived from 'croup' (the rump of a horse) and was by way of analogy to one who rode behind on horseback. It later came to refer to one who was employed to collect the money from a gaming-table.

Mine...
Chris Benoit bored me to tears.
Eddie Guerrero was vastly overrated as was Owen Hart.
TNA has really improved in recent weeks
I liked WWE's version of ECW.
I wasn't that keen on the original though.

I always thought this was because they never pulled the trigger on a world title run. He was built up so much that he had to win the title. If he didn't anything after that seemed (& was) a complete come down.

I completey and entirely disagree. In the space of 6 months CM Punk has -
Delivered the best promo seen in years.
Was red hot on the mic in 'contract negotiations' with Vince.
Was one half of a 5 star rated match.
Won the WWE Title.
Returned with new entrance music and new t-shirts.
Main evented Summerslam.
Fueded with one of the Greatest of all Time Triple H.
Main evented Night of Champions.
Main evented Hell in a Cell.
Tag teamed with HHH against Awesome Truth.
Now fueding with Del Rio.
Having a WWE Title match at Survivor Series.
Continues to be dynamite on the stick.
Now to me, that seems like a mixed bag and is anything but stale.
