Our own "Off Topic" thread
Browsing around other sub-forums I've noticed that a lot of the sections have their own "off topic" thread. Although there are complete "off topic" sections of the website where everyone can get together and "shoot the breeze" it seems that some sections like to be able to have a chat thread just amongst themselves, so here's one for us.
The other sections have a variety of names for this concept - often calling them "pub threads" where anything can be talked about. This also helps keep other (in our case, golf related) threads on topic. If anyone has a more original idea for a name for the thread let me know and I'll change it (the 19th hole?)
Just to start off, for those of us here in golf who also like music, check out the little contest in the music sub-forum (under media on the home page). This is a little fun contest where 10 of us have volunteered to name one song a week under a particular category. Everyone on the site then gets to vote for a song (no one but the organizer knows who nominated each song). The first poll is up for this week with the category being "Dance Music" - something I know nothing about but I picked a song anyway. This little comp will only work if we get plenty of people casting votes to see whose choice is the most popular so please check it out if you have a spare moment and cast your vote.

It could have been even more spooky b_b. You might have had 666 the sign of the beast, or 666a the beast next door.

Re: Our own "Off Topic" thread
The number of the beast... 666
But then the original text describes the number of the beast as 616. There is also debate about it being a riddle for a name... or possibly since the greeks were aware of powers. 6 to the 6th power to the 6th power.
which would then be
10,314,424,798,490,535,546,171,949,056
I like that number

Indeed - the idea behind the science fiction novel by Robert A Heinlein. A very good one it is too.

Not a bad book that. I also like the idea of 3 spatial and 3 time dimensions. Adds a nice symmetry that.

I think Sheen would be up for it. I could see a reality tv show in the offing with this... or we could tag them and follow their progress round the world.

Re: Our own "Off Topic" thread
Really D4S - the latest figure I heard was a rather more accurate: 3.14159 26535 89793 23846 26433 83279 50288 41971 69399 37510
But it is constantly being updated so a new figure may be out shortly.
Anybody out there have any news on the pie factory explosion?

Alas, LJO, no reply from Sheen. Probably in the midst of a bi-winning sex orgy but i'll keep fingers crossed.

Re: Our own "Off Topic" thread
3 is the devils number as it's the number of putts all golfers want to avoid. More than that is even more evil.
hence my view that 3 is not the magic number. In any way whatsoever.
I don't think he will respond... but watch the news. I expect to hear he's been having a go at the smaller hookers shortly.

I see you're point. When i play golf, 3 putts is a good effort.
I'll keep an eye on him, maybe try and lure him in somehow. He's a mentalist so surely our plan must appeal to his inner demons.

Could be... Or there could be a mass exodus of strippers and hookers out of the area after a few days due to excessive working hours.
Actually... no-one has ever seen Tiger and Sheen in the same room before....

Yeah, it's cause Sheen isn't as big as Woods so the prefer to stay away from each other, it's a package thing.
Could you imagine if Sheen started his own porno company. Heff would be quaking in his slippers!
