First topic message reminder :

Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.

The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the wedding pictures of Dan Carter and Honor Dillon above the bar! And if anyone tells the Australian Womens' Weekly that KiwiRedDevil's Mum smuggled a camera into the service* there'll be hell to pay - they paid a fair amount for the exclusive Wink Run

So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

* Note to any lawyer-y types, that's a joke and is completely and utterly false, Mum forgot to put the camera in her handbag

Scarlets have just made too many errors; Munster are too streetwise. They always looked to have control. Scarlets will feel they could have pushed it if they had only matched their potential.

19 -13 FT.

Disappointing by the Scarlets, only really starting clicking with 20mins to go. TOo many basic errors, Munster were just that bit better.

Not sure either side will worry any one else though, in both matches, both have looked fairly average. Munster's defence working v well though.

Difference between the two teams today for me were Connor Murray, and brains. One team has some, the other really blydi well doesn't.

got a LBP which is what I was hoping for before the match, just annoying we aren't playing as well as we can.

Munster have won four games without ever looking particularly dangerous. You've got to admire that kind of game management.

A Ale for all the Munster regs in here, hope you guys enjoy the win Smile

Got to say though, you guys aren't half boring to watch. You've shown you can run the ball, why not do it more?! (and I don't care if boring rugby is winning rugby!)

Basic errors cost the Scarlets, and solid Munster defence. I thought JD2 and Ben Morgan had good games, putting Munster on the back foot a number of times.

Murray was very good for Munster though; but defence won the game in the end. 2nd half was a vast improvement on the 1st half.

Only saw the last 10 mins of the game at Thomond.

Despite what Barnes says there was a dirty great big Munster paw that caused that KO by Priestland at that ruck right in front of the Munster posts at about 72 mins!

Ah come now Mrs P, no blaming the ref.

Scarlets 4 games 11 points. If they win both that are left that will give them 19 points and put them in contention for a 7-8th qualifying place whatever Munster do, or at least an Amlin place.

Northampton home

Doable, certainly doable. A small percentage of improvement in execution would be enough. People say playing for pride as if that's not a motivating factor. Northampton will be coming to win.

Castres

They will give a lot more opportunities than Munster away as they will try to play some rugby. If we can do a Franklins Gardens we will be fine.

In all honesty though I think that's it for us. We won't win both of those games.

You never know with them though Dreamer, but with a disproportionate contribution to the 6N even if we did make it out of the group or into the Amlin, I can't see us getting any further.

I spotted it in real time but the sky guys missed it even in the replay!

Actually, I think I'll blame Barnes!

falle not Glas, tis a season too soon for some of our guys anyway I think. I had no HEC aspiraions going into this season anyway so guess it's actually good to be feeling disappointed.

One thing I will say is that I'm very happy for Rhodri Jones, thought he had a superb game today, I was really worried for him before the match. It was a massive ask for him.

I know, just kidding.

One day though, one day, a ref with the guts to penalise the red blanket will appear on a White charger, nobody will know his name, and after the match he will disappear as enigmatically as he appeared, and they will have seen the light, and then all the referees in Europe will rise as one and say NO, we will not be browbeaten in this way, he has shown us that no plague or pestilence will befall us as long as we are brave, the crowd can be silenced.

Toulouse v Quins is one helluva game. I expect ST to come back in the second half. Quins' 2nd try was brilliant offloading. If ST had scored a try like that this feicen annoying commentator would have been giving it 'large'.

Sorry, but the guy really gets on my wick.

Dreamer,

Hopefully your head has cleared a bit now so I can ask you an Admin question.

You know how when you click on "Rugby Union" here you get to a page with "International Rugby", "Club Rugby" and the 4 "Stickies". Then there is a list of threads which I presume fit into neither category.

First off, why does the pub and one other sticky disappear when you select International or Club?

Could we have them still visible at that point?

Secondly, is it possible to have ALL the rugby threads visible on that Rugby Union page and then split them up into the 2 options after that?

ie. If you click Rugby Union you get a list of all the rugby articles and then you could narrow that down by selecting one of the options.

I get a bit fed up having to go between the 2 when I might be interesed in articles on both, as are most on here I would think!

Belter of a game. From a neutral pov, it was far and away the best game of the weekend. Some of Quins' play was reminiscent of their Amlin semi at Thomond last season. Brilliant support for the man in possession. Toulouse played some great atuff too - really refreshing to see two sides looking to run the ball at most opportunities.

Mike Brown should supplant Armitage as back up 15 in the EPS I would think.

Right with the second option, unfortunately I don't think we've got a filter option on this site, so it's literally have subsections to put threads in like we have now, or just have one main board where everything goes on. Tis annoying I know but I don't think there's anything we can do about it.

And with the stickies, things like the pub and tv guide are only stickies for the main rugby page (i.e they aren't global anouncements so won't be seen on all other forums, just the main rugby one) I know we like to keep the boards looking tidy as possible, so don't think there would be a need to have the stickies turning up on every page when you can have it on the main rugby page.

I hope some of the above actually makes sense and answers your question!

Still not clear why Penfro's TV guide and the pub couldn't remain "Stickies" for the International and Club pages?

They wouldn't have to be Stickies for everything, only the 3 Rugby Union options.

Brilliant win by Quins. Proving once again that all HC pool games are entities unto themselves. Nothing can be taken for granted by ANY team. Just love this Cup.

Watched Scarlets play most of the rugby v Munster. Again. And make silly errors when in a position to score. Again. They really need a stronger front 5 and to build on this hard expericnce. Play a bit more percentage rugby at key times. They would have it well within themselves to challenge for the knockouts every year if they do.

Watched the Leinster game this aft and did not know the score.

What a feast. Sexton is really getting better with each game. Reddan was superb and makes us a much more potent attacking-force. Kearney is getting back to his best. As is Fitz. McFadden and O Malley growing nicely. Need more time together and will get it now.

Happy.com. guinness

Hope all are well.

It wasn't even- it was painfully obvious. It was always going to be a yellow.

A bit of slyness for the Scarlets there and they might have conceded the penalty with no yellow. Those are the margins that decide games. That and Munster clinically taking seven after that- how many attacking positions did Scarlets blow?
