Carl Frampton
Thoughts on him??
To be fair I thought he would have found Hughes a bit awkward and took a messy points win.
But Carl completely bossed him, fought defensively aggressive which I love to see. Marquez is my favourite at it. And showed he could switch out the lights with 1 punch. Great display from the little man.
I'm not being biased and I think Quigg is gonna for far too, but based on amateur experience and Framptons style, I think he takes Quigg out after. Closely fought fight around rounds 10-12.
But wouldn't be surprised if Quigg won either. I just think Carls too smart and has more experience against different styles.
Can't wait to see this match up.
What's your thoughts lads on the fight and the future for The Jackal?
Cheers
Dee

Re: Carl Frampton
Cracking punch for the knockout but Hughes is never a boxer and it was painful to watch him.
However, Frampton did look good throughout and I'm keen to see him fight Quigg.
The Ochieng - Quigley fight was a cracker too although I think the towel got thrown in too quickly as he wasn't taking a real beating, although he was certainly behind.

Re: Carl Frampton
Cheers for the thoughts mate, afraid I have to disagree a little about Quigley getting stopped. His head was rolling rather worryingly with almost every power shot landed on him. And a fighter fighting at English title level can't be taking too many blows like that. Get him out and he can learn from his mistakes. It wasn't good tactics at all by Quigley. Excellent wee scrap though.

Frampton would win this fight. Not sure how good he is yet but good enough to dispatch of the Quigg

Re: Carl Frampton
I thought frampton would have looked better. His opponent had no power, I thought he was going to walk through him and get a quick stoppage. He had a very good defence albeit and won every second. Still think that quigg wins though but I will be close

Re: Carl Frampton
I thought Frampton looked excellent last night. He hardly wasted a punch and systematically broke down his opponent.
Looks like a real good prospect, hopefully we will see him in with another step up in competition.

Re: Carl Frampton
The thing is about Hughes is he's awkward, it isn't easy fighting a guy that has 6 inches in height and a huge reach advantage on you. Problem is that Hughes has zip all for power.
See how Quigg looks next week I imagine that is there next. Hope so because that is a cracking fight, picked Frampton ages ago, picked Frampton before the Hughes fight, still going with Frampton now but let's see how Quigg looks next week.
Personally I feel that Framptons amateur experience and sharper attributes will win him the fight. But it should be a cracker.

Re: Carl Frampton
frampton looked good to me, bit open defensively which might be a worry against a guy who brings something to the table, but puts his punches together nicely.

Indeed we will. As you should be aware, when it comes to predicting certain fights, I have a 100% record.

Re: Carl Frampton
I think people are getting carried away with the Booth win for Quigg. Booth is a Super Flyweight in size who got lucky to win a scrap at Super Bantam, even Maloney and Booth acknowledged that at the end of the fight with Quigg.
Booth had no zip whatsoever and was there to be beaten to a pulp. The same as Kris Hughes was for Carl.
I just think based on styles, Quigg is a little to stationary and Frampton is quicker....and can bang.

Re: Carl Frampton
Dont see the fuss with Quigg. A bit one paced for me.
Frampton looks to have more variety and definitely hits harder. Dont think he stops Quigg but wins on points by 3/4 rounds. His size is the only advantage he holds.

Re: Carl Frampton
Your bang on there Johnson.
He walked Booth down because he was about twice the size of him. Easy to look good when fighting a little fighter.
