England very lucky after the first twenty minutes. But theyve grown into the game. Faz looks better at ten granted. But Wales can strike at any moment. Well balanced game.

Not sure how you can be so convinced, but why did we leave it that late? Youngs is f ucking shiiite. Doesn't pass well, doesn't fix defenders, doesn't offer anything. send him and flood back to tigers, I hope Farrell is ok

Looked 100% for me.
Stevens & Lawes lost us that one with individual errors. We'll learn from it but a good team performance and we should of won.

Stevens, doesn't even deserve to be near the squad. Also, he's tighthead. I've never been impressed with him at loosehead. As soon as I saw him come on I thought we would be in trouble.
Positives, Barritt and Tuilagi look like they could make a very potent combination.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 1 - Homepage
I'd just like to make a few points about tactics and seek some clarification on something.
Most people appear to separate 'tactics' from 'points', the former being how your team will play and the latter being your observations about your own side and opponents.
In the other game there was an agreement between managers that any banter and picking up on what your opposition had put would be limited to the observations, and tactics would not be pulled apart as in reality you would not know what tactics your opponents would be adopting before the game.
Two weeks running now, my opponents have dived into my tactics claiming that they are contradictory (which they are not unless you choose to interpret them in a way other than they are written). Are we going down the slaughtering tactics route? Or would it not be better to say no digging out your opponents tactics? No problem with non tactics banter like Ollie pointing out how many games certain players have played, as that is fact and things that would be known to everyone anyway. Pooly if you could clarify either way what it is going to be as then I will be prepared for next weeks match.
Also, format of tactics, my understanding prior to my break from the game was it was one paragraph of a maximum of 5 lines, then up to ten 1 or 2 line points. Has that changed in my absence as I see a few larger paragraphs and points?
I have some other observations as well, which I would like to address but may be seen as banter in relation to this weeks predictions so I will leave them until after this weeks predos have closed.
Cheers.

I'm not too fussed about managers picking up on other tactics as its their choice. When I do predo's though I totally ignore any comment on opposition tactic and it's a complete waste of space for me.
TACTICS are an issue and they're sneaking up to much. This is the format:
1 x 10 line paragraph (on 606)
+
10 x 2 line max bullet points (on 606)
I struggle to see if this is been adehered to as on phone all weekend every week.
Flux - In future if tactics go over the 10 lines can you cut them off at that 10 line point and then not add the 2 bullets.

Pete, i wasn't aware of the changes on the otehr, game as i remember some pretty lengthy pulling apart of tactics. But i can see the benefits of not pulling apart tactics, as it can get silly and to be fair, i pretty much ignore it when other people do it.
London Irish played well in parts, but stupid decisions cost us. We should have looked for a drop goal at the end of the first half, but instead Samson trys a kick through, and it leads to Saints getting a penalty. The difference between going in 21 - 8 down, and 18 -11 down at half time is large. I liked the look of the backline to be fair. Jarvis, played better than expected, and we didn't seem to lose too much in an attacking sense.
Myler played very well for Saints, some very good passing, that i didn't think he had in his locker.
Agree, Blair going off is a big loss, for Scotland.

It got to the point where it got really out of hand. Match threads went into 5 pages with people going back and forth at each other, it got a bit tiresome for everyone, so people decided to draw a line under it. There is still banter about players, just not about actual tactics. I was probably one of the worst offenders to be fair, so just wanted to see how people were wanting things played on this one.

Just a general question guys for team selection next week. Would I be marked down for playing Lawes and Dowson next week?? Lawes played 20 minutes and Dowson just the 8 for England so both should be fresh?

Is that a no you wont mark them down? Or no there not fresh?
Its a weeks break with only France-Ireland to be played I think before we get back to back weekends to finish the championship.
Good game today between the Scots and the frogs. Scots actually played a bit of rugby. We were so lucky to get them up first. Kind of caught them cold. Shame they havent got a scrum though!

I wouldn't mark them down SJE, they've onyl played a few minutes
I reckon Scotland missed Murray big time today. Alright it might not have been much better, but they would've had a better chance overall.

Yeah mate what you looking for for him?
Think Murray would have been an improvement but then even he got taken apart last year by the french. They just have such great technique in the front row

Awsome scrummagers, went up a different level when Servat came on too.
I wouldn't mark down mate, more interested in the amount of new signings thrown straight in, hard to keep up with it!

I'll be marking down players who have been away with their countries, fatigue, but also the fact that they haven't been training with the squad

Understand the fatigue effect Bathite but not the training. Surely the players will of had a full weeks training with their squads? Maybe an issue for recent signings but surely not for fullly settled players?

I understood that If the players haven't been released then they haven't trained with their clubs since the start of the tournament, I might be wrong though.

Think your right Bathite but I imagine they'd fit straight back in with their own clubs and be raring to impress the England management.
It's new signings I have issues with in teams, I like to see them bedded in over a few weeks especially in key positions.
Everyone looks at things differently though, part of the game

I think the 'bedding in' point just discourages deals to go ahead. You lose the benefit of the players you lost immediately, but don't gain the benefit of the players you get for a few weeks..

Hardly realistic to change 5 of your first team for 5 new players and expect them to slide effortlessly in. Depends how you view the game I guess but I'll mark down hugely if a team signs a player and then plays him that week in a key position (2,5,8,9,10(esp),12)
I think you can get away with props/flankers/back 3 a little but still require easing in.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 1 - Homepage
Im the same with bedding in. You cant expect a hooker, lineout captain or flyhalf to come straight in and pull the strings. They need to get used to their new team mates, new calls, patterns etc. If they are bedded in from the bench over the 1st 2/3 weeks and then brought in to the starting side no issue for me but throwing them straight in is marked down
Same as Pooly wouldnt mark down props, flankers and back 3s but also wouldnt mark down 8 and 9 if given the right game plan. I.e 8 is sent out just to offer himself up and make the hard yards, 9 is told to just get the ball out quickly to flyhalf and leave him direct. If you sign someone like Pretourious at 9 and expect him to play his usual game straight off the rest of your side just aint going to keep up with him as they arent used to it. Same as signing Pieneer and expecting him to the lead the attack but he doesnt know the running lines yet at all or the set piece moves

I also like to see some consistency in selection especiall from 8-13. i know there's a balance with managing fatigue, but i don't think a team can be succesful with too much chopping and changing in the backline.
Bedding in is important, for all positions imo.

I think the 10 line paragraph and 10 points of 2 lines max works fine. Means I can do a general overview of how I want the game played, then 5 specific points for forwards (scrum, lineout) and backs (attacking/defensive patterns, kicking game)
