Why does every draw get a bonus point?

I think technically it is only 1 point for a draw and a bonus point for being within 7. So, by definition each draw is worth two points. Sorry for the confusion

It's 2 points for a draw mate, no bonus point for being within 7. There is a clue.....

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 1 - Homepage
EQ player rules for next season:
AP: 8 (min of 4 in XV)
HC: 10 (min of 6 in XV)
LV: 0 (no EQ rule)
Happy to keep EQ rule in prem with potential to go up to 5 the following season if this gets voted in.
Will be trying 6 EQ in HC team as a way of making the competition competitive.
The LV can be a bit of a free for all and the chance to experiment with signings.
I don't foresee the EQ rule being an issue at this point in the game but as I did at the beginning I'd advise managers to be a little wary of letting a lot of English players go.
I wouldn't look to put the EQ up in the prem without a vote.

This has been in the pipeline for a few weeks Bathite.
There's basically no change except in the HC, I want this competition to be really competitive and see the EQ rule as a way to do this.
It would be unfair of me to up the AP EQ limit without everyone getting a chance to decide if it'll work for them.

Fluxy - sent you a PM mate.
Pooly - will do league table tonight. Are the budgets after predo budgets? I might release some and have enough for a foreign...
Disappointed I lost to Wasps.. going through the sides I thought at least 10 of my players were stronger individually and I had a better bench. I guess home advantage and more settled players went for them?

Your bench didn't have a hooker on pull, and I don't tend to go on individuals, more on how people would fit together as a team. Just having good inviduals is not enough, or the Ospreys would have been Heineken Cup champions by now.

Agree with those sentiments Ozzy. I also weight home advantage and combos at lock, back row, half back and centres v.highly

everyone subconsciously rates their own players higher. looking at teams, I cant see what 10 players you think are rated better than mine. everyones opinion will be different.

Think i would have a combined side of
Lahiff
Bucky
Raaut
Garvey
Wentzel
Gibson
Salvi
Wannen
Dickson
Bowden
Tuilagi
JTH
JJ
Thompstone
Homer
Prefer Irish front row, but not by much. Wasps second row, good balance. Wasps centres

Out of interest pull, which 10 players of yours did you see as better? I've just had another look through and in most positions there was very little between individuals.

It's more combo's than individuals for me. There wasn't much in the game, I thought you were very evenly matched tbh. Home advantage was a big factor.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 1 - Homepage
Erm, I would rate it as this:
Lahiff > Payne
Buckland > Brooker
Raut > Broster
Palmer > Garvey (although close)
Kennedy > Wentzel
Danahar = Du Plessis (don't know much about DP though)
Gibson < Salvi (more AP experience)
Wannenburg > Hala'ufia
Simpson > Dickson (closer to England shirt - perhaps not!!)
Bowden > Robinson
Thompstone = Varndell
Hape < JTH
King > JJ (JJ a rising star but King more experience, been class for ages)
Yarde < Tuilagi
Homer > Haughton
I make that 10 better. I've rushed that though. Also bench has Dermody, Ion, Mafi, Pocock, Armitage!! More detailed tactics..
As I said, just a bit disappointed, not overly bothered! Just hard to see where you can improve if you're way off the mark.
Overall, I'd say the team that deserves to win wins, because it's an average opinion.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 1 - Homepage
My take on it...
Lahiff better in the loose, Payne better in the scrum.
Bucko and Brooker nothing in it.
Both tightheads are gash.
(net result is though that Payne is more likely to get the better of Faan than Lahiff is of Broster in the scrum)
Palmer and Kennedy as a pair lack grunt and doesn't work for me, whereas Garvey and Wentzel is an archetypal enforcer/lineout specialist combination.
Danaher and Du Plessis even
Gibson and Salvi even but very different players
Wannenburg and Hala'ufia even with different skill sets
More balance ot the Wasps back row with a traditional 7 out there.
Simpson is better than Dickson
Bowden and Robinson are even
I like the control Dickson would bring though.
Thompstone and Varndell even, and neither are great defenders
Hape and JTH even and similar players
JJ for me much better than King already
Tuilagi better than Yarde
Haughton better attacker, Homer more solid all round game.
All about opinions as has been said. I think I have said before I put probably 60-70% on the pack, and to win away from home you have to win the pack battle for me, and by a bit of a margin.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 1 - Homepage
Interesting how differently people see it, my take:
Payne > Lahiff
Brooker > Buckland (Combo to Wasps)
Broster = Faan
Garvey = Palmer
Wentzal > Kennedy (Combo to Wasps)
TDP < Danaher
Salvi > Gibson (Combo to Wasps)
Wannaberg > Hal
Dickson => Simpson
Robinson < Bowden (Combo just to Irish)
JTH > Hape
JJ =< King (Combo just to Wasps on form)
Vardell > Yarde
Tuilagi >(>) Thompstone (Combo to Wasps)
Haughton => Homer
Wasps had a definate pack edge, not a massive one but sneaked it. Little bit more in the centres on form and a lot more in the back 3. Gibson more a 6 than a 7 IMO and would suffer v Salvi. Payne better scrummager than Lahiff but Lahiff better in loose. Brooker a fair bit better than Buckland and both TH's pretty poor.
Haughton sneaks Homer as I think Homer is pump and Wasps other 2 wingers stronger. Cracking midfield battle and great combo's but Wasps more form.

Tasty side mate, I'd say a better 3 & 4 would be next upgrade.
You need a game plan of sorts to progress though, hard to give a team a win with nothing.
