First topic message reminder :

2013 bickering thread

OK, every year we see threads that actually contain really good rugby discussion derailed by the ongoing Wales vs England bickering and WUMMING! I will name no names. I guess we have all been guilty.

Since most of the general bickering comes from the respective fans of Wales and England ; I thought I would create a thread for it in an effort to keep decent rugby discussion relatively WUM free in other threads.

Let it commence

Love the hate.. and the trying to get out of it attitude0- The kiwis that settled took the land!!

The difference between spain and france is that it has true borders through language media and politics

We have the same media, the same language and are in the eyes of the UN one.. just like spains situation

Same language?? Really Shocked

yes really.. English is your main language.. if you didnt know.. We even have a celtic language down in the west country- Doesnt mean its there main language!!

English is hardly spoken by the locals in my town pal, do not get the impression the english even belongs to england either. remember its a made up language and pretty much new in the scheme of things. I doubt many english would recognise their language 150 years ago. Welsh ain't changed that much in over 2,000 years. Getting a picture yet? how can you be a race of people when you ain't got a stable language?? Without a language you ain't got a culture.

Folks, just a reminder, bickering on this thread is fine, calling other posters names ISN'T.

If you're too stupid or too stubborn to bicker without name-calling I'll arrange some time out.

Just over 4 million in NZ, if you take all the Asians, S Africans, Welsh etc etc who reside here I think you will find the vast majority comes from the pockets of the Brits via westminster. Not rocket science is it.

Then there are 3 odd million in Wales and 5 million in Scotland! I am sure the Maori are appreciative of the english tax payers cash. What goes around come around aye Smile

Rainbow...the alternative arguement could be that a country that hasnt changed in 2000 years or so hasnt evolved / developed.

The English might have a mixed language from everywhere but its the most dominant language in the world.... We have influenced the rest of the world in that the buiness and international language is now English...so it is a very widely recognised language.

How long ago did you leave your beloeved Wales to move half way round the world?

its the international second language- thats the important point to understand. Offcourse mandarin and all that are more commonly spoken as a first language- its kind off irrelevant.

English is the language used most for the world to communicate with one another.

And the language of music.. The best music in the world.. Hug

I was merely referring to your argument that your language was untouched for 2000 years...yet spoken by so few...yet the derided English language is the common international / business language.

As to your moving...i simply find it amusing when people defend their birth country to the max yet move half way around the world to get away from it... Wink

No pal, you are getting peed off because you are losing the argument. Ask an American what language he speaks, I think you'll find the answer is AMERICAN. You were kicked out of America a few hundred years ago after getting your asses kicked. I think you'll also find out that it was not an englishman who found America and you will also find out that there are more American Presidents who were Welsh desendants.

The vast majority of treaty settlements are being paid via Wellington (and New Zealanders' taxes) not Westminster - while I vaguely think I remember something about Westminster making a small contribution years back it appears (after a fair amount of Googling) that Britain ISN'T making vast payments to Maori.

Sorry for letting the facts get in the way of a good story.

Come on, I'd be interested to hear your answer. I don't seem much difference at all so am happy to be educated by your good self. Show me these glaring differences! Very Happy

Having said that, you loved Wales so much you moved away, so maybe you're no the right person to ask in terms of 'Welshness'.

I do not take the bait of people like you. I have read too many of your educated posts. Mind you I would be interested to know how english spread throughout the world if you loyal bunch stayed at home hahahahaha What an immature point of view, but your opinion is important so jolly well done thumbsup

I think you will find that the majority on both sides of the 'American' war of independence were actually English, and that a major reason for things kicking off in the first place was England trying to recover the costs of fighting an expensive war to stop America being taken over by the French.

The English government did handle that side of things badly. But then they only really lost the war because the French helped the rebels so much.

That explains why when you hear 'Welsh' spoken almost every other word is English. It needs to evolve or it just can't be used to speak about facets of modern life. "The vast majority of treaty settlements are being paid via Wellington (and New Zealanders' taxes) not Westminster - while I vaguely think I remember something about Westminster making a small contribution years back it appears (after a fair amount of Googling) that Britain ISN'T making vast payments to Maori.

Sorry for letting the facts get in the way of a good story."

What goes around come around aye Smile

your welsh arnt ya..

anyway no skin of my nose dude.. but to be honest we should sue em for teying to make out rugby is there game laughing

I would dig a little deeper Kiwi, Wellington and NZ just aint got the financial clout although I am sure you would love to think NZ is that financially well off. Like I said already 4 million people in NZ, ain't exactly a tax haven and very little industry that creates much finance in the great scheme of things. All the banks bar one are Australian owned and most goods are made in China. Oh and don't give me the Frontera one, it's just dairy products.

Yes i am Welsh but it's the englis who are paying the vast majority of the cash back to the Maori that must be evident by population.

Damn forgot this was a Rugby site Doh

RW

Look at your PC settings you will find two Languages for English

English UK & English US

Very similar but only one spells words correctly.

RW How would you spell Harbour?
