The Official 2013 Wales v England bickering thread.
First topic message reminder :
2013 bickering thread
OK, every year we see threads that actually contain really good rugby discussion derailed by the ongoing Wales vs England bickering and WUMMING! I will name no names. I guess we have all been guilty.
Since most of the general bickering comes from the respective fans of Wales and England ; I thought I would create a thread for it in an effort to keep decent rugby discussion relatively WUM free in other threads.
Let it commence

I'm rubbish at selling stuff... You don't want to buy it fine by me!
Selling something that has no physical value esp in such austere times must be tough. Hang on I'm making a plan involving a canoe and not being photgraphed in South America!

That's wasn't needed esp after our 2011 showing, I don't need to see the POC/BOD tittering to themselves video again!

And I would be providing care to those who have consumed to much champagne and whiskey but since I'll be nowhere near work that day, they can lie in their own saliva and vomit!

I guess after a decade without winning any trophies they will be happy with just a 6Ns championship and not GS or Triple Crown after they take their annual butt whooping off the Welsh.

Surely St Jonny was a myth?Turning water into wine is one thing.Turning the English Rugby team into a group of winners is a tall tale, surely?I thought that it was all a bad dream!Bathman_in_London wrote:Taffineastbourne wrote:Who was on the throne when England last won a Grand Slam?

But a much easier one than turning the Welsh team into winners. Evidently.

Now now, just because your man-crush Manu Tuilagi's going to be on the bench against ireland, there's no need to take it out on me.

Er... I'm not.
Tuilagi ought to be on the bench, I have no problem with that. England have few selection dilemas, unlike Wales of course. I'd worry about that if I were you.

Not least because England have demonstrably improved game on game. England have had false dawns before, but I think a consistently successful England team is now tangible.

This is clearly the wrong thread to say it, but there's not much to dislike about England at the moment. You're playing some good stuff and you look like you're enjoying it.

Have Wales won a GS? Oh yes, they did last year - quite an impressive recent GS record actually. Still, when thats all you've got to cling to. It must be frustrating to support a team that's up and down like Jimmy Saville's tracksuit bottoms.
England have been underachieving for a while now. However, it appears that from the youth to the ladies to the EPS, the pieces are beginning to fall into place. English teams are going well in Europe and internationally, there is tangible hope for the future and perhaps once again, England can look forward to winning regular GS, and perhaps even another World Cup?
Wales.... Wales.... what have they got? A badly supported, poorly structured Regional system. No teams remaining in either the Anglo-Welsh (chuckle) or the HEC. An international team that if it fell into a barrell of ti*s would come out sucking its collective thumb. The Welsh international team is a thin veneer covering a very fragile pot. They do say that empty vessels make the most noise and I can't think of a more perfect example of that at the moment than Wesh rugby.

Do you even understand what tangible means, or even understand what I ACTUALLY said?
Have you been taking some of the drugs that the rest of Australian sport has been taking?
I did actually say that England were improving, which they are, and that rather than it being a false dawn, that a consistently successfull team was tangible. When you compa\re England's performance over the last 12 months to its NH contempories, England are second only to France probably, and even France have wobbled.

I think a while is what most people would call a few months short of a decade. I personally would rather have a season of doing well and a season of doing poorly over ten years of being dire. But hey-ho each unto their own.

Well, being Welsh you would wouldn't you?
And as for being dire, England have been underachieving, not dire. Despite the mismanagement, england have always been there or thereabouts come 6N time and havent been half as embarassing as some other NH teams I could mention during that time.

Have people already forgot that we won the 6 nations in 2011.
I've never understood why people put so much on winning the Grand Slam, no one expects Man Utd to do the it.

Jimpy - facts say they haven't been there come the 6Ns but I will concede they have been there abouts most times.
Out of interest will the pundits be talking about the match being potential championship, maybe even grand slam, decider when the do the pre-match build up on Sunday? They do tend to get carried away like that.
