Messi/Ronaldo partnership wouldn't work

Messi would pass to Ronny and he would dribble 40 yards and shoot...EVERY TIME

Disagree on this btw, the goals at Madrid are much more spread out than they are at Barca.

Ronaldo 53
Benzema 29
Higuain 25
Callejon 13

Messi 63
Fabregas 15
Xavi 14
Sanchez 13

Pull - My predictions will be in very soon

Hero - I was joking mate.
However, if the two were in 1 team, I do think Ronaldo will score more goals as he would want to prove a point that he is better....which he isn't

Does it involve the 3 of them taking the ball off the other just as they're about to score a wonder goal and it just turns into a game of FIFA Street?

Amazing how the media is so quick to criticise Barcelona saying things like 'the Barca of this season is not the same as last year'...But a few weeks ago, the same media labelled them as unbeatable.

Madrid deserved their victory even though the likes of Ramos, Di Maria, Alonso were pathetic in their feigning injuries. Barca were no angels either but at least they show some humility in defeat.

Ronaldo once again did hardly anything in the game but scored the winner.

I'm not sure whether Real's win helped us or has just been like poking the hornets nest. Think we could get on the end of a right tonking tomorrow although to be honest I thought that in the first leg as well.

Got to say I am a bit miffed by all the negative press surrounding our win last week. OK, we did park the bus but what are you supposed to do against Barca? They are a lot better than us overall so it doesn't make sense playing an open expansive game against them since they'll win. Surely some credit should be due to the tactics, closing down Messi and protecting the middle to force them wide. Anyone other than us and that would have been a tactical masterclass.

The media (and UEFA) will get what they want tomorrow I have no doubt. Seems no-one wants us to get through other than us ourselves and Jose.

Chelsea did exactly what they should have done. If they'd done anything else it would have been a massacre so I completely understand the reasoning behind it, will be interesting to see if they can hold them at bay for another 90 minutes this week though.
Keep them at bay for the first half and I could see Barca becoming stretched which could provide someone with the chance for a counterattack which of course then would give Chelsea the away goal which in turn would provide Chelsea with even more chance of another counter.

I agree that with your last statement.

Chelsea deserved that result and even Pep agreed that the better team won on the night.

It all depends on how deep Chelsea's strikers will be otherwise it may take a long to time to reach Barca's goal if a counter is possible. Drogba is not the fastest

Don't need Drogba to run. Just get the ball and fall in a heap. Get a free kick, break up play Very Happy

Come on, surely everyone wants a final between the "enemy of football" and "the exponents of anti-football". Drogba vs Ramos would be hilarious!

I agree that if we can somehow keep them out until half time, the pressure will begin to increase on them. I cling to the hope that even at 2-0 down we still only need to pinch one to go ahead in the tie again. Iniesta scored in the 93rd minute at our place 3 years ago. We owe them for that. It would be nice.

I predict we'll be 3 down at half time though with more to come second half. They may let us have a consolation but probably 5-1 at the end.

I appreciate I haven't been in this game very long, but i'm not getting into it like I hoped. So i'm resigning as Bayern Munich manager.

And no, i'm not going to sell any players before I go. Give the new manager a chance at least!

Good enough mate. Can't say it was enjoyable viewing. The release of tension when Torres scored was much needed. Absolutely cream crackered now.

Now just wondering whether we have the other Spanish giants with Jose or have to play Bayern at that "neutral" value of the Allianz Arena! I think I'd prefer Real since that would hack off UEFA and Platini big time. Very Happy

I think Real would actually be the better option too, Bayern with the home support would be a cauldron, but if Real knock out Bayern than the home fans that still get a hefty allocation would be cheering on Chelsea.

Who will play centreback do you think?

All depends on who is fit. Ivanovic and Terry are suspended so the only CBs we have are Cahill and Luiz. I would expect Luiz to come back from his injury in time. Hopefully he won't suffer another injury or a recurrence of the current one. Not sure how bad Cahill's injury is. Hamstrings can be tricky. If he is not fit, Bosingwa may have to play. He looked better there last night than at RB, probably since he needs to stay back and doesn't get caught out. Romeo can also play CB as can Cole if needed with Bertrand at LB although that's a huge ask against Robben or Ronaldo.

I think we need to be more offensive in the final. I'd play Torres RWF with Drogs central and Mata LWF. Essien ought to play as well.

Just hope we win.

Who called Torres to be the hero yesterday.....was it Hero?

Drogba was great playing LB.
Terry is such a fool.

Wanted Barca to win otherwise the final may end up being the Mourinho show if Real got through.

That would be a shame as the media goes OTT with Mourinho and he loves the attention

Laugh

I'm not in favour of the tactics deployed versus Barcelona but can understand why teams do it otherwise they would get mullered.

Messi getting labelled as ordinary I hear from media too.

When is the last time you see Ronaldo getting double or tripled up in a game? He usually gets a defender and skins him alive then shoots.

Fan of both but Messi is much more of a team player IMO

Hero, your predos for the fab two are not as easy anymore.
I know what tactics I would deploy if I faced you now Whistle

For me, Messi > Ronaldo. Both are fantastic players who can win matches off their own backs but Messi doesn't play act or try to con the ref. Makes him far greater imo. He also seems a genuinely decent bloke off the pitch. too.
