Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 Homepage
Folks
I am thinking about potential changes for next season in two areas.
1. Number of EQ players in matchday squads.
2. Scoring systems.
I am going to create a thread with the alternatives that I am thinking and ask people their thoughts. Once I have created the thread I will post a link to it here.

We're going forwards in the scrum and Hartley pops up, how is that a pen against us?!?!

Its illegal to stand up. Hartley did it first.
Great try. Massive hit by Ashton. Dickson and Sharples made up for there horrid attempts at a tackle in setting up the try. Good gas from Manu.

Was awful defence.
Why would you want to pop up when you're on top and going forward, surely it's the pressure your putting on. If that's the rule it's pants!

It's what hartley does to get pens. Ref's always assume he won't do it as why would he. Always does it with saints.

Can't stand Rolland - French getting away with so much right now
Don't get the tactics the French are playing at all either

But he can bloody kick!
Beauxis is just kicking away possession, we should be further in front. The pen in front of posts was plain stupid

Beauxis doing what's been asked of him by SA. Give away a penalty anywhere in our own half and we lose 3 points.
Not sure what Botha is doing, his injury is really hampering us, would bring on Palmer straight away in 2nd as think we might be defended for 40mins!

That's how Beauxis plays Chris, he kicks most possession. It works better with Toulouse as the have a dominant set piece and Jauzion who often wins the up and unders

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 Homepage
Good performance France have no game plan. Fofana looked dangerous. We struggled in the scrum a bit but cole went well.
Morgan,farrel and croft played well
And tuilagi so dangerous ball in hand.
We need a carrier in the second row as the starting 2 are too lightweight at carrying and only Morgan carries in backrow.
Dowson dreadful when he came on which did not surprise me.

Matt how was Dowson dreadful?? He was on 10 mins at most and then went off after a try saving bit of cover work.

I thought we dominated scrum till Servat came on myself, thought Parling carried really well throughout also.
Dowson was on about 2 mins and saved a try! Lol

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 Homepage
Just watched the game again and Rolland just shouldnt be allowed to officiate England games, so biased.
Take the Ashton penalty after ROugerie took out Foden - then go to the 68th minute when Foden concedes a penalty and as he gets up Hari'ordinary pushes him in the face right in front of Rolland!
Reckon we have the beating of Ireland next week, espc as they havent got O'Connell - Croft was exceptional today.
Botha is a hard worker, but too lightweight, would also think of getting rid of Dowson. Don't think either are made for top - rest of the team have been very good, long-term we just need to find a top class no7 and more of an attacking threat in the 12 shirt - not saying Robshaw and Barritt havent been great, but to get England challenging for 2015 I think that's what we need to find.

When you need to close out a game you need to bring on people who can carry and make an impact.
The scrums were funny we had then in a few they had us in a few. Generally though they had the better of scrum in terms of being able to wheel it and get better attacking position

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 Homepage
When Stevens came back from his ban, he looked leaner and more toned and very focused. He hit some decent form and I think earned his place in the EPS.
Since just before the World Cup he has looked distinctly average and as if he is carryin a load of excess weight.
I too would prefer to see PDH covering from the bench.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 Homepage
Webber's been playing exceptionally well for Wasps recently and hasn't put a foot wrong for England - not sure who is better than him really.
Do agree that Stevens should be replaced on the bench, but again he did pretty well today and PDJ hasn't been setting things on fire at Saints really - would prefer Mullan tbh.
I'd start Palmer for Botha and then add Wood to the bench - Dowson looked spark out, so imagine he will have to sit out next week.

Mullan not a good bench option for me. Would always prefer a tighthead who can cover loosehead on the bench rather than the other way round.

The only way I would possibly have a loosehead on the bech would be Marler for what he brings in the loose. Ireland could be the game to have a look at that as I wouldn't be overly concerned with Corbisiero going to tighthead against Healy if anything happened to Cole.

Wood to bench would work well and I would start palmer for his carrying. Pape showed today the kind of player need in second row

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 Homepage
Pape has had a great tournament, and as you say Matt shows what we lack with Botha and Parling. Botha should have been brought off much earlier, clearly injured.
