Leinster vs Ospreys match thread
First topic message reminder :
Hey all,
Thanks god club rugby is back (from an Irish perspective!) needed this.
Seems to be a lot happening Leinster's side of things, with BOD looking like he will come back into the team and the same being said for Cullen. Huge experience re-entering the team after youth has been keeping us more than just a float for a number of months. Very healthy to see. It will interesting to see where they slot in and (if they are on the bench as I imagine they will) who they will be paired with.
Thorn also looks set to make his Leinster debut giving the 3 players mentioned a run up of this game and the Munster derby in Thomond to the HCup 1/4 final.
From an Ospreys side of things, munster losing to Aironi a week back has given them a huge lifeline and they now have a chance to fight for 2nd place and a home semifinal which would prove invaluable I am sure. Bowe has decided he is leaving and there does seem to be an exodus of sorts coming from the Wlesh clubs who together have created a fantastic Grand slam winning team? Will anyone come back from that squad and play a part on Friday.
What are your score perdictions?
What team would you like to see?
If Ospreys were to win how big an impact could it have on the top 3?
Where can either team win it?

Important kick
This will be a huge win for the O's
Bad for the Blues in the league, but good for their HC hopes to break Leinsters run.
OFF THE TOP OF THE POST!!! BRILLIANT

Knock on from the restart
Poor - they just needed the restart and they would probably have won.
Come on Adam Jones!

Re: Leinster vs Ospreys match thread
How did they win that?! 14 men Versus Leinster and the ref.
This play will last for a few more weeks with the big Wales guys coming back in. Then after that they'll be suffering from 'Ospreys fever.'
Excellent win Ospreys, fairplay, and I'm your biggest critique. Just play 10 man rugby for the rest of the year and you might win the league.

Agreed Morg. The O's still play crap rugby, but if they win then hey who cares! Probably won't get us very far in the HC though...

Ah hes from Munster. They are all the same.
Love you Billy.
O's wanted it more in the end. Fair dos.
At least BOD and Leo got run-outs. Thorn too. Soo. No complaints. Best get that loss out the way before the really big games.

On the balance of probability Biggar was bound to have a good game at some point. He has been useless for ages.

Re: Leinster vs Ospreys match thread
Played OK I suppose billy. Still kicks it too often or bottles it too often for my liking. I rate little Morgan quite highly but he needs a bigger no.7 to babysit him in defence. Shame there's no David Wallace at the Ospreys.

Biggar didn't make mistakes and kicked very well - Wasn't he MOTM last time they beat Leinster in Dublin.
Beck was the other contender for MOTM, or Bevington/Jones for the second half demolishing of the Leinster scrum

Re: Leinster vs Ospreys match thread
He had an okay game, billy, does some good things, but aspects of his game that have need improving for a couple of years now....still need improving.
Great to see how chuffed the O's palyers are to win, this could be a turning point for them.

Re: Leinster vs Ospreys match thread
Could be a huge win for the O's - Could steal them a 2nd place finish - then perhaps another trip to the RDS for a grand final?
They still need to sort a lot of their game out though.
And hope Adam Jones stays fit.

I dont see Biggar so much but what i saw in the first half impressed me which is why i questioned the reason for the negativity against him. What i saw in the second half was even better.

Re: Leinster vs Ospreys match thread
Well to be fair to the Ospreys that's all 8 Irish Provinces played for this season, Leinster beaten home and away, Munster beaten home and away, Connacht beaten home and away, and Ulster beaten home and lost by 1 point away.
That's a pretty decent record to be fair.
If only we could beat Welsh teams and Glasgow we'd be fine...

At the Liberty he always plays crap for some reason. He can be alright like tonight but a lot of the time he's awful

Thought Tipuric was the difference. Bad luck for Leinster losing both TH's but the scrum was the difference too. If that last try hadn't been given I don think the Leinster scrum would have held out anyway.

The scrum won that game, the Ospreys should use their power more often, the ref saved Leinster in the first half but the Ospreys blew them apart at the end of the game. Good to see BOD back, Ireland will need him in the summer. Lots of mistakes but enjoyable game.

What a great finish, fair play to the Ospreys. That'll boost the morale for the next couple of fixtures at least

All the Ospreys do is scrum, we play for scrums! We have 3 front rows of internationals just to scrum!

Just wondering could Schmidt have told the ref that mcgrath cant play TH so we got unconteseted scrums?
