First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat. The pub has teleported to Mexico City for the first qualifying match for RWC 2015. There's also TVs showing Aviva Premiership, Rabobank Pro 12 and Super XV action.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of the Grand Slam Winners or Dan Carter who returns to rugby this weekend.

Ditto to an Aussie it might be Australian Football. To some people football can even mean Rugby Football.

Stag,
Say that to the Yanks. They reckon Football is theirs. But bless em, they live in a self-inflicted vacuum.
Massive grown-men, running round in 80's, Dynasty-style, shoulder-pads and helmets - crashing into each other.
I know others in here love that game. But, I find it mind-numbingly boring.
Love the rah-rah girlies tho. Thats a plus.

Just nominated a Dam Pub for the Leinster OLSC.

Fairy nuff bud. I'm all for it. Might get my No. 1 son to instigate that, at Ozzie Rules level. He moves over to join his younger bro soon.
But Ozzies are even harder to break down than Yanks, at that kinda ting.

Ja, for sure, I am hoping not to be Rahsist or controversial here.

Georgie News:
Star wing George North has pledged to stay in Wales for the long-term and claims he has had no interest from French clubs.
The 19-year-old has two years left on his Scarlets contract and claims he wants to stay longer than that.
North helped Wales to the 2012 Six Nations Grand Slam and in the process became the youngest player to win 20 caps in world rugby.
"I'm very happy down at the Scarlets at the moment," he told BBC Wales.
"I'm getting game time on the pitch and at for my age that's what you want to get a bit more exposure and experience out there.
"I can't see myself going elsewhere right now. I'm enjoying my rugby in Wales.
"I'm there for two years now. So happy days really."
North, who has already 21 Wales caps to his name, said that unlike other Wales players, such as Gethin Jenkins and Luke Charteris, he had not received offers from clubs in France.
"No not at the moment. It's been quite quiet so it's quite nice really to have a bit less pressure and play rugby really," he revealed.
And North also inisted that he would "probably not" want to leave Wales when his two-year contract is up at the end of the 2013/14 season.
"I'll be 21 then so it's still quite young to leaving Wales, so hopefully I stay until I'm 30-odd and then if someone wants me then I might go then, but at the moment I'm happy where I am." http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/wales/17539244

Would be amazing if he could stay at Scarlets for another 10 years, he'd end up being another Stevo like figure that way, even bigger perhaps.

Excellent news Dreamer. He sounds just like Dennis Hickie in mentality. Really impressed with that. He goes up a level for me. Good man George.
France will try entice and drain our talent, to feed their rich TOP14.
But, we shall NEVER Surrender.
Looks like Lukey may be on his way though... England cant afford him. Dont believe the SH can either. So its France. IF he leaves.
Hope he stays.

yep tis great news Gibbo.
Was just reading all that about Lukey, hope he doesn't go, but then he's had a couple of off seasons with you guys (I know he's had injuries). Maybe it'll be good for him to experience a new environment? Just seems to me he might need a change.
And ha, think I can get too passionate about the Scarlets at times! But then I get to experience an atmosphere and a night like I did at the Blues v Scarlets match....just amazing, one of the best nights as a Scarlet fan ever.

Dreamer,
I think ye may make the playoffs. Need to end that Munster hoodoo though. That's key. Do that... and ye will make the playoffs imo.
Lets be honest here.. they may think it, but... they are not all that.
Time to lash that chilli on. MrsG has been slaving all day, teaching English to de French. Not easy.
Time to put me pinny on and cook. I love me blue pinny.

There are male cheerleaders at the college level of US Sports from what I'm aware. I actually admire them a lot. They have so many fecking routines and are onthe go for well voer 3 hours, you need to be uber-fit for it. Also, you're simplfying a bit Gibbo, they have made it a lot safer now days, you see big hits but as we saw what happened in NOLA recently, you can land yourself in deep doo-doo if you play dirty.
Rugby could learn from that, also NFL Films make some magnificent productions on NFL and sport in general, they make it into a work of art. A quick clip: http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-films-presents/09000d5d827e6f9c/The-season-in-six-minutes

T,
Love ya man. Like da cut of yer Cork jib tbh.
But, its a Big Girl's Blouse game. Always will be. Massively over-hyped. Easily sold to the masses.
It's like a McDonalds burger. Grand for 10 mins, but after eating it, you want something with real meat in it.
Speakin of which...

He is still a thug though, was out by the district court earlier today, some crazy feckers there, parts of Cork you wouldn't want to know about. It's nearly as bad as Dublin or Limerick.

Gibbo
I learned a very sad truth this weekend. The Munster AIL clubs are dying and the Leinster ones are light years ahead.
In the U21 AIL Cup knockout stages I was at both:
Garryowen v St Marys (Score 7-42)
Old Crescent v Lansdowne (Score 0-32)
Very sad to see our teams dominated like that.

I have that Pub so primed. One too many Munster barmen. But more Leinster Ladyboys than Munster Trannies...
They are in for one Hell of a shock... Leinster had better deliver the goods.

Alright Cari
And a good evening to everyone else.
Hoi linebreaker (when you next pop in), if you're in the UK when the HC final is on we have a spare ticket. We always get a spare for big club games if we're going.
After posting about it in the last pub, hoogs came in for it but cancelled. No one else has expressed in it. It's yours if you want it.

As long as that gimp Huggy has got me a ticket it's all ok
I really am excited about it, though it's a while away. Never thought I'd see a Welsh team in a European final live.
