The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the wedding pictures of Father Christmas, Sean Lamont and Paddy Wallace above the bar!
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

In Andorra, Father Christmas is known as Lord Quinto. Sounds like a baddie from a Harry Potter or Star Wars book/film.

ha that does a bit Stag!
he's known as Sion Corn in Welsh, not really sure why!

No, my badge is safe. So safe I can't find it at the moment, but it is in the house. I know it is, I put it out of Miss G's reach, although she has commandeered Notch's hat!

Nobody is more shocked with Toner’s improvement than Leinster fans by the way lads. We all thought he was just a lanky drink of water. Happy days that he’s on the up, long may it continue!
Anyone see the draw for the B&I cup QF’s? Ulster A at home to Munster A, Leinster A at home to Pontyprid (sp?)
Are they any use? Last week we put out a back 3 of Dave Kearney, Andrew Conway and Fionn Carr, that’s a spicy meatball, for a reserve squad!

I think the British and Irish Cup is VITAL. It allows for the fringe players to get regular competitive rugby.

Sion or Sioni in Welsh is one of those ubiquitous names for a man like Joe Bloggs, Jacky in Newcastle etc.

Llanelli have drawn Cross Keys in that Mick
Pontypridd are a pretty handy side, always up at the top of the Welsh premiership. Their strengths lie in their forwards. You run at them you can hurt them, tis what Llanelli did in the premiership final last season.

Yes, but I don't know how well they'd travel. If you played them at Sardis Road those fancy Dan backs wouldn't have a hope. Pontypridd pick wings who can keep their feet rather than wings who are fleet of foot.

Absolutely Stag, although for Ulster it has been about giving the Academy players some much needed competitive game time.
Peter Nelson; Conor Gaston, Ian Whitten, Chris Farrell, Chris Cochrane; James McKinney, Ian Porter; Callum Black, Andi Kyriacou (capt), Jerry Cronin, James Simpson, Lewis Stevenson, Ali Birch, Willie Faloon, Mike McComish.
Replacements used: Michael Allen for McKinney, Blane McIlroy for Porter (both 45 mins), Conor Carey for Cronin (60), Niall Annett for Kyriacou (65), Neil Faloon for McComish (70), Ricky Andrew for Nelson, David O'Mahony for Simpson (both 75).
That is the team that beat Rotherham away at the weekend. Youngsters in bold.

Think they are a pretty handy outfit but with Leinsters squad depth they should be dispatched even if it's a tight game. If you think about that pack, there are a number of players who were first choice for the seniors at the start of the season. They more than matched us up front and lead for much of the game.

See this Twitter account- the guys who keep the stats for BBC Wales SCRUM V.

Well apparently the top second rows in the League this year are Dan Tuohy and Devin Toner.

The Ireland Rugby Supporters Club are doing a Family Package for the Italy game, same as the one I had for the French match in the summer. Two Adults and two children for 120 euro. Tickets on sale 5th January.

Nice meet-up in old Laandahn Tawn last night. Swanny looking fab. Hound too. As for the rest. Asbo & Hugs are like a big bro/little bro combo. A real team. Yappy and Risky sound geezers. Had a nice chat with them.
Really starting to feel like Christmas...

'Supporting' might be over stating it, I wanted them to win though. Had a great craic with the Munster supprters though - must have been the only preson in the ground with 2 eyes. Thinking of opening a chain of monocle shops for the 'discerning' rugby supporter

Most one eyed fan of whole weekend had to have been the Scarlet fan we met in the bar who couldn't accept you'd support Ospreys and made it his goal to convert you.
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Jesus a friend of mine I work with just told me his nanny had died (he is Scottish).
But all I did was burst out laughing. I felt really bad. he was grand they weren't that close and when I explained that it was because when he came over I was going to tell him the hamster joke.
quite the Faux Pas

Micky, that's you off the Christmas card list. If I knew penfro was up in Limerick I would have met up with ye. Bollix.
Also Stag, six minutes of The Dark Knight Rises was released in iMax theatres last week .I saw the clip in a bootleg form and despite some sound issues involving Bane it looked amahzing.

Yea I heard about it Thomond. The trailer has reassured me that Anne Hathaway won't be shoite. She looks a bit femme fatale in it.
Thomond - I offered you a ticket to the game.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
I know Stag, I had other plans but if I had known Penfro was coming could have sorted something out, but sure it's in the last. Tickets are not or will ever be an issue with Munster games, they probably would be for Ireland however.
