Re: Week 4 - Voting
Match 1-Essex vs Hampshire
Adams goes early to Pattinson, but Smith and Vince rebuild until Vince is removed by Parry. Smith continues on his way with Umar Akmal coming to the party, smashing his Pakistan team-mate Afridi around the park. Afridi eventually gets him, but late order hitting from Smith and Bravo take Hampshire to a big total.
In reply, Afridi is having one of those games where nothing comes off and he is caught off a Bravo slower ball. Shah quickly follows, leaving Nicol and Chandimal to continue. Briggs ends Nicol's innings, and despite the best efforts of Chandimal, wickets keep falling and Essex fall short.
Hampshire win
Match 2
Surrey vs Somerset
I see the toss as being pretty vital in this match, with Somerset being the team who get the advantage. Thomas bowls a good opening spell, but Surrey still reach a decent score at the end of the power-play, Davies the man to go. 606v2 favourite Jason Roy plays well for 5 overs but is removed by the in-form Dockrell. Stevens and Hamilton-Brown both nail some lusty blows, but don't stay in long enough to cause any serious damage.
Gayle goes early in reply, having not read the pitch properly and teeing off from the start. Trescothick plays a masterful innings as opener and finds able support in Kieswetter and then Hildreth. Dernbach causes a late wobble but Somerset are dragged over the line by Trescothick.
Somerset win
Match 3
Middlesex vs Sussex
Feel this one is really tough to call, particularly with the conditions. Steyn's in inspired form early on with the ball swinging around, removing Guptil and Benkenstein. Topley's one powerplay over takes a bit of a battering from Watson, the introduction of Yardy and Panesar slowing things down, Malan getting frustrated and losing his wicket chopping Yardy on. This brings Morgan to the crease, he plays the spinners very well but Watson goes, McCullum provides some capable late-order hitting for Middlesex to see them to a competitive total.
Nash and Wright start off well for Sussex, Watson snaring Wright in the final over of the powerplay. Kohli comes to crease, he nurdles Vettori(who does pick up the wicket of Nash). Kohli goes in Finn's last over, Styris and Shahzad rebuild well, and altough Shahzad goes, Styris and Brown get Sussex over the line.

1. Hampshire get a good total courtesy of Umar Akmal. Briggs, supported ably by Bravo and Dimi bowl Essex out 30 runs short.
Hampshire win by 30 runs.
MOTM: Akmal.
2. Winning the toss proves advantageous to Somerset as they restrict Surrey to small total thanks to Dockrell and Philander, with only Taylor batting well. In reply, Woakes is expensive with Gayle and Tresco taking advantage, but they fall in consecutive overs. Dernbach bowls well at the death but Philander secures victory off the penultimate ball with a boundary.
Somerset win by 2 wickets.
MOTM: Philander.
3. Tough one to call this, Sussex get off to a good start after a Luke Wright quickfire cameo but as he goes the innings slows down and they limp to 145. In reply Middlesex lose early wickets to Steyn and Mckay as well Topley and never really recover. Needing 24 to win off the last over Vettori hits 4 consecutive boundaries before being bowled by a Steyn yorker to end Middlesex's innings.
Sussex win by 7 runs.
MOTM: McKay.
Hampshire win by 30 runs.

Erm, GG, while not wanting to seem too much of a whinger about your vote, Middlesex won the toss and should have batted first

Re: Week 4 - Voting
Leicestershire Foxes v Nottinghamshire Outlaws
Nannes removes Hales in the first over but things go quickly downhill for Leics. The rest of the bowling attack offers little threat and Warner, with a bludgeoning innings filled with switch-hits and mows over the covers, makes 90 and Rahane a classy 110. The partnership isn't broken until the 19th over, after which Tamim hits two sixes of his own. Notts makes 225-2 and look to have batted Leics out of the game.
Leics know they need to score quickly but its easier said than done against Malinga, who gets Trego and O'Brien in the very first over. Raina and Sangakkara briefly threaten but, after Broad bounces out Raina, and Allenby is out-foxed by Swann, the Leics effort soon collapses. Sangakkara makes a pleasant 60, but with little support, Leics can only finish on 145-7.
Nottinghamshire Outlaws win by 80 runs
Man of the Match: Ajinkya Rahane
Yorkshire Carnegie v Lancashire Lightning
Anderson is the master of swinging conditions and doesn't disappoint here, taking out his England team-mate Cook and Denly in the very first over. Rohit and Dhoni then maneuver the ball smartly against Chapple, Napier and Smith to set a platform. Anderson comes in to bowl at Dhoni but MS is up to the task, leaving Jimmy with only one over for the end. Bringing Kerrigan on is a risk and he goes for 15 off his over to take Yorks to a respectable 61-2 after 10. An acceleration is attempted against Ryder, but Dhoni holes out. This brings Bairstow to the crease, who struggles early on and hogs the strike. 85-3 after 15. Rohit is trapped lbw by Chapple, but the last 3 balls of Chapple's over go for three fours with Azhar Mahmood in the mood. The next few overs are productive, leaving Yorks 134-4 after 19. But Anderson then returns, taking Azhar's wicket and going for only 4 to leave the final total as 138-5.
Bresnan is good up front for Yorkshire - going at 3 an over and dismissing Williamson. Shahzad, however, doesn't get it right, and Ryder and Moore build a partnership and move the score along to 34-1 after the powerlay. In the hunt for quick runs Azhar is attacked, but ends up picking up three wickets - those of Ryder, Maynard and Brown. Meanwhile, Moore is having a good day and Warne not his very best and is joined by Mustard in guiding Lancs to 100-4 after 15. 39 from 30 should be a manageable equation, but Mahmood and Bresnan concede only 10 from the next two overs - 29 from 18. Shahzad comes on, bowls Moore, gets hit for six by Smith and then Smith skies one - 21 from 12 with Mustard and Napier at the crease. Bresnan is given the crucial 19th. Two dot balls to Napier build the pressure, before he heaves at one and is caught in a stunning effort on the boundary by Rohit Sharma. Chapple eakes out 6 from the next 3 balls though. 15 from the last over, bowled by Shahzad. Mustard cuts the first ball for 4, scrambles 3 off the second ball, leaving Chapple on strike. 8 from 3. Dot dall. Chapple edges one for 4. 4 needed from the last ball, but Chapple can only get 2 and Yorks win by 1 run. A thrilling Roses match.
Yorkshire Carnegie win by 1 run
Man of the Match: Azhar Mahmood
Durham Dynamos v Worcestershire Royals
Brett Lee is too quick for Stirling and removes him fourth ball for a messy duck. Finch and Gibbs get a few away, but there's no sense of permanence about them and they are both gone by the end of the fifth over. Rafiq and Shakib do a good job, with Shakib removing Blackwell and Pollard, and Rafiq keeping Colly quiet, though he nurdles along. It is Yusuf Pathan who goes the distance, with Stokes taking a liking to him and Collingwood joining in the party when Jack Shantry is brought on. Lee ends Collingwood's fun after an innings of 45, and the late on-slaught never really gets going. 142-7 is the final score.
Botha does well up front to get Lyth, and Gul gets a knick from Solanki. But Bell looks to be playing on a different pitch to everybody else. It doesn't matter whether its pacemen or spinners, he likes to have a go. Pathan is dismissed by Pollard, but Shakib joins Bell and takes Worcs over the line. Bell makes 83* out of 143-3.
Worcestershire Royals win by 7 wickets

Re: Week 4 - Voting
Match 1: Leicestershire Foxes vs Nottinghamshire Outlaws - Notts win toss
Notts are largely untroubled first up though Nannes picks up Hales early Warner, Rahane and then Iqbal all get away and notch up 50s. Though wickets fall in the slog overs they get through to a very healthy 185/7
In reply Malinga knocks over Trego, forcing Sanga and O'Brien to block him out while attacking at the other end. They still put together a healthy partnership with all the other bowlers suffering. Raina joins Sanga in the 10th and the pair continue to accumulate and keeping the run rate required from ballooning too far, until Swann picks up Sanga and Allenby in the 15th. Razzaq comes out swinging though, but getting 15 off Malinga's last over proves just too hard. Victory to Notts by 2 runs.
Match 2: Yorkshire Carnegie vs Lancashire Lightening: Lancs win toss and bowl first
Cook and Denly get off to a very slow, cautious start with Anderson bowling almost too well to get a nick. Napier has more luck in the 5 over however, picking up Denly, while Raina falls in the 10th to Chapple. The returning Anderson accounts for Dhoni, but Cook marshalls the middle order and they get through to 130.
Williamson falls early in Lancs reply, but Moore and Ryder see out the powerplay with Ryder getting some boundaries away somewhat sketchily before the lure of the pie-cart kicks in and he holes out. Mahmood gets Brown in the 10th but Lancs pick off Warne for 7 an over, and take toll of Rashid's one over. A couple of late wickets to Bresnan are not enough and Lancs win by 4 wickets with 3 balls to spare
Match 3: Durham Dynamos vs Worcestershire Royals: Durham win toss and bat.
A really tough game to call this one, for me the pressure of chasing tells. Durham get through through to 140 batting first after weathering a tight spell from Botha, and Worcs can only get to 133 in reply. Win to Durham.

Essex VS. Hampshire
Wining the toss was important in this game, as both sides strength in the bowling is probably their spin attack. Pattinson is able to get the early wicket of Adams but after that Hampshire cut lose some what. The intorduction of Parry stems the rate somewhat, but Hamps still get an imposing 170-6. In reply, Essex have some good players of spin but the class of Briggs in the T20 format proves too much and Smith is effective in the conditions as they rip the heart out of the Essex chase. Shah plays well, but isn't supported.
Hampshire win by 15 runs. MOM: Danny Briggs
Surrey Vs. Somerset
The slow nature of the pitch means that the accuracy of Philander, Thomas and Dockrell is rewarded and they are hard to score against and wickets tumble as the batsmen try too much, too early. However, RHB and Mathews rebuild the innings and get themselves in before launching an attack against VDW and Gregory, but when Philander and Thomas come back they boht go and Surrey get a below par 145. Woakes starts well and picks up Tres and Gayle in his first two overs as they try to force the rate, but Kies plays a much more circumspect innings than which he is reknowned for and him and Hildreth push Som past 100 before several cameos of 15/20 from Morkel, Meschede and Philander get Somerset over the line with 3 balls to spare.
Somerset win by 4 wickets. MOM: Kieswetter.
And I need to think about the last game a bit more, it is incredibly tight! Will get my final vote in later.

Middlesex VS. Sussex
Sussex have a good bowling line up for the conditions and McKay and Steyn make early inroads into the Middlesex line up. Topley is a little expensive but still gets himself a wicket and Middlesex are 5 down by the time Panesar and Yardy come into the attack. Malan and Dexter rebuild the innings and some late order hitting from Pathan and Vettori, as Steyn's return was a bit expensive, gets them up to 155. Pathan and Finn pick up a wicket each in their opening spell, with Finn getting the big man Kohli, but Nash and Styris start playing well. And they push the rate up against Vettori and Brooks and they get Sussex close to the line before a mini collapse causes panic, but Steyn edges two boundaries and gets Sussex there.

Essex vs Hampshire: Essex win. Superior variety in the Essex bowling attack allows them to restrict Hampshire to about 150. Hampshire's bowling attack in contrast a bit one-paced (Briggs aside) and once Chandimal and Shah get going it's game over. Ten Do finishes it off.
Somerset vs Surrey: Somerset win. Somerset have some very accurate bowlers, and I fancy their top 6 to chase down whatever Surrey manage to set them.
Middelsex vs Sussex: Middelsex win. Malan and Morgan guide them to a decent score, and after Finn strikes twice early (including the all important wicket f Kohli) Watson and Pathan exploit the two-paced pitch to stifle the chase.
