We're evening out the draw. Touch wood (I'll confirm tonight) there will be one other round with 2 Northern matches, but the 2 leagues will finish at the same time.

Re: Week 6 - Voting
Northern League
Match 1: Nottinghamshire Outlaws vs Worcestershire Royals - Toss won by WR who bat first.
A big scoring day on a fine pitch. KP and Hafeez get away to a decent start, with several short balls disappearing over the rope, and a couple of wides coming from too-bouncy bouncers. Malinga comes on and yorks Hafeez, but Amla and KP bat the next 10 overs at a rollicking rate. Several wickets fall in the slog overs but a very healthy 190/5 makes a formidable target.
In reply Notts get off to a great start, Lumb and Warner plundering the powerplay. The loss of the openers in the 8th and 9th overs slows things down though, as Rahane and Taylor are pegged back initially. De Villiers comes in in the 15th over and plays a blinder, but Notts needed him in sooner, and they fally 4 runs short. Win to Worcs (for me the toss and ABDV batting a little low were the deciding factors)
Match 2: Durham Dynamos vs Yorkshire Carnegie - Toss won by YC whop bat first
On a tough day for the batsmen Sehweg puts a couple over the fence early, but gets frustrated by the slow outfield thereafter and holes out. Denly, Rohit and Samuels carry the innings along, but unable to really get the scoring going until Dhoni unleashes a mini-special in the last 4 overs to get Yorks up to 130.
In reply Wade tees off early, but the batsman are unable to get more than 4 an over off Warne meaning the asking rate is up over 8 by the 13th over. Collingwood cashes in on a few loose balls from Rashid in his last two overs however, and he and Read nurdle their way home in the last over. Win to Durham.

Northern League
Match 1: Nottinghamshire Outlaws vs Worcestershire Royals - Toss won by WR who bat first.
Worcs Innings: 147-6 off 20 overs. Amla 57*. Broad 3-27 off 4 overs.
KP goes to Broad early but Amla comes in and steadies the ship. Patel and Swann keep it tight during the middle overs. Adams goes for some runs but Broad and Malinga come back at the end to keep Worcs to a lowish score with Broad picking up a couple more.
Notts Innings: 148-4 off 18.4 overs. Warner 44. Lee 2-30 off 3.4 overs.
Lumb gets out to Lee first over but Warner gets off to a flyer. He is out before the PP is over but the damage is already done and Notts can just coast to the finish line by playing within themselves.
Result: Notts win by 6 wickets
Match 2: Durham Dynamos vs Yorkshire Carnegie - Toss won by YC who bat first
Yorks Innings: 168-5 off 20 overs. Dhoni 66*. Gul 3-33 off 4 overs.
Sehwag and Denly get off to a good start but both fall before the powerplay finishes but this just means that batters such as Dhoni get more time at the crease. Dhoni comes in around the 10 over mark and plays what could be a match winning innings despite Gul picking up wickets at the end of the innings.
Durham Innings: 135 all out. Collingwood 32. Bresnan 5-25 off 4 overs.
Durham never really get going due to Bresnan and Shahzad bowling really well up front. Collingwood digs in and gets a gutsy 32 but Yorks polish Durham off inside the distance.
Result: Yorks win by 33 runs

Re: Week 6 - Voting
Middlesex Vs. Hampshire
Middlesex have a nightmare as both openers fall to Doshi in his first over to leave them reeling at 1-2. Malan drops anchor and plays a gritty innnings, whilst Yuvraj hits Khan for 4 boundaries in his 2 overs before falling to a cutter off his last delivery of that spell. This brings Morgan to the crease and he is in sumptuous form, making light of the conditions. Malan is struggling to get Briggs away but he maintains his cool and doesn't do anything rash just turning the strike over to Mogs when he can. Malan falls in the 11th to Briggs to leave the score at 59-3, and when Pathan goes two balls later to a wild slog things look bleak. But Smith doesn't quite have the control of the other spinners and Mogs punishes him for it. Dimi and Khan are tough to get away in the last overs due to a mix of cutters and slower balls and Middlesex can only close on 117-8, with Morgan 68*.
Pathan is expensive early on, with the openers cashing in on the pace whilst they can but Rayner bowls well and gets the wicket of Adams. Smith goes when Vettori comes into the attack, but Clarke is in cracking form and uses his feet magically to get Hamps moving. Akmal falls after a few edgy fours and the Hamps line up disintergrates as Vince, Bopara and Dimi fall in quick succession leaving them 53-6 and the halfway stage. But Steve Smith plays the perfect innings, aggressive when needed but respectful and he gets after Malan and Yuvraj for a few. Ollie Rayner does for Smith for 31 in the 17 over, but Clarke is still there and hits the winning runs off the last Watson over to finish with 71*.
Hampshire win by 2 wickets. MOM: Michael Clarke.
Sussex Vs. Surrey
Sussex win a huge toss on a favourable pitch and take immediate advantage. Steyn is almost unplayable in these conditions and blast outs 3 in this opening 2 overs, whilst Pattinson also grabs one but is slightly more expensive as he sees the ball fly to the boundary of the edge more than once in this spell. Surrey limp to the end of the PP at 27-4, with Marsh and Mathews at the crease. These two bat very sensibly against a rampant Sharks bowling line up with Kallis being particularly unlucky before starting to get more expansive against the spinners who they play very well and both Yardy and Monty, plus Russell go at 7 an over. The return of Kallis accounts for Mathews for 42 (getting to bold) whilst Marsh plods on. Steyn grabs Jadeja to get a four for, but Woakes blasts a cameo 22* to leave the momentum (p=mv, I am revising honestly!) with Surrey. Marsh closes for a less than run a ball, but perfect knock of 53*, and a total off 131.
Rana is still a wily bowler and he manages to grab Levi before he can do any damage, but Dernbach's radar is slightly off and Nash takes full advantage. Woakes comes into the attack and gets Nash but Sussex have the rock that is Jacques Kallis in their middle order to guide things. He plays a sublime innings and others just bat around with Prior, Shahzad and Russell all playing good supporting innings. And Kallis is unbeaten on 76 as Sussex get home in the second to last over.
Sussex win by 4 wickets. MOM: Kallis and Steyn.
Somerset Vs. Essex
Somerset score runs and lots of them. Gayle tons up for a fantastic 112 whilst Trescothick adds 58 before cameos from the middle order, especially Buttler who gets 31 off 12, to guide Somerset up to a monstrous 215-4. Narine is the only bowler to go at less than 9 an over for Essex and he also picks up two wickets, whilst there are two wickets for young Coles as well but he is more expensive.
Essex start well with Hodge getting them off to a flyer, and SRT playing the supporting role. Hodge falls in the 6th over to VDW, and from then on it is the classic chase of a huge score. The run rate puts them under so much pressure that they have to keep playing shots and they keep losing wickets with Ted do, Shah and Chandimal all getting rapid 25's but not going on which is what was needed. Essex keep battling however, and SRT steps back and flashes the 120th ball of the innings to the boundary to bring up his 100 and Essex's 200 their resolve is shown.
Somerset win by 12 runs. MOM: Chris Gayle.

Match 1 - Hampshire win. Opening with Doshi is a masterstroke, Middlesex restricted as good players of spin in Clarke and Umar see Hants home.
Hampshire win by 4 wickets.
MOTM: Umar Akmal
Match 2 - Sussex win. 2 very evenly matched sides - toss was crucial, would've gone the other way had Surrey won it.
Sussex win by 3 wickets.
MOTM: Steyn
Match 3 - Somerset win. Gayle goes ballistic and racks up a ton in quick time, ably supported by the middle order. Essex fail to get over the line despite SRT's heroics.
Somerset win by 6 runs.
MOTM: Gayle
Apologies for shortness of votes, got exams and all that.

Re: Week 6 - Voting
Nottinghamshire Outlaws v Worcestershire Royals
The Worcs top-order is their strength, and it comes good today. Hafeez knicks off to Broad, but Pietersen and Amla are in fine form. Adams is dismissed by KP, who also takes pleasure in thwacking his England mates out of the park. He makes 125 glorious runs before holing out to Malinga in the last over. Amla scores 70 and Bell 20*. A fantastic effort to score a massive 230 against a good Notts side.
But Notts won't give up on the chase. Warner attacks Lee and Meaker, before being bowled by a perfect Lee yorker. The crucial factor in this match is that de Villiers doesn't get in till number 5. When he does come in he scores a stunning unbeaten 80, but Notts are 35 short on 195-5 at the end.
Worcestershire Royals win by 35 runs
Man of the Match: Kevin Pietersen
Durham Dynamos v Yorkshire Carnegie
Yorkshire bat first on this slow pitch, where the high-scoring drama of Notts-Worcs won't be repeated. Davies is good on this pitch, and Sehwag struggles to get the ball away before playing all round one from Gul. A yorker removes Denly, leaving Rohit and Samuels at the crease. Samuels struggles a lot, taking up 30 balls for 12. Rohit plays a loose shot on 40, but that paves the way for Bairstow to arrive. Him and Dhoni play the surface well, and get their team up to 135.
Bresnan and Shahzad start off well, with the mediocre Durham top order soon 3 down with just 10 on the board. At this stage Collingwood is in with Blackwell, and they give their team some hope before both struggling against the spin of Warne and Rashid. Stokes, Read and Botha all get into double figures, but Warne and Rashid both go at only 5 an over, and Durham fall 13 short.
Yorkshire Carnegie win by 13 runs
Man of the Match: MS Dhoni

Re: Week 6 - Voting
Middlesex vs Hampshire
A real tight one to call, I think Doshi opening the bowling is a great call, managing to remove both Guptil and Malan. Watson struggles through, then finds some form alongside Yuvraj and Morgan. Vettori bowls a fantastic spell against Hampshire which threatens them, but Bopara sees them home. Hampshire Win
Sussex vs Surrey
Toss is key here, Steyn bowling an absolute stunner of a spell whilst his South African team-mate Kallis is also most impressive. Most impressive Surrey innings comes from Mahela but he struggles for support. Surrey have a great pace attack but 2nd use of the pitch isn't helpful, and a masterful innings from Kallis sees Sussex home despite being 8 down. Sussex Win
Somerset vs Essex
A battle of the batting line-ups, and for me I feel Somerset's batting line up is more impressive. Notable innings come from Trescothick and Buttler. In reply, Tendulkar plays a beautiful innings but it just isn't enough. Somerset Win.

Re: Week 6 - Voting
Hampshire win: their trio of spinners strangle Middlesex, and in Clarke and Akmal they have two excellent players of spin to see them home.
Sussex win: Steyn and Pattinson exploit the conditions to blow a huge hole in the Surrey line-up. Surrey never really recover, limping just past 100 and Sussex chase it fairly comfortably.
Somerset win: narine aside, there's nothing to fear in Essex's bowling attack, and Somerset's powerful top order (anchored by Trott) get them to a huge total. Despite the best efforts of Shah and RTD Essex are never really in the hunt.
