Hogg at 13 is a surprise, as I thought Morrison's injury would have seen Aramburu feature in the centres. Nathan is no longer listed as injured, so thought he might feature too.

Stong team. I can see Munster struggling in this one. Glasgow by 6.

Re: Glasgow vs Munster
Boyne, I actually think Munster are going to come out all guns blazing. After being knocked out of the HC, they only have the Rabo left to concentrate on and will want to make-up for recent performances. They know how tight it is at the top on points and will look at this game as arguably their last chance to get back on track to win some silverware. They are also at home.
If Glasgow want to beat them, they're going to have to play at their very best.

They want a place in the SF so no doubt they will be! I was shocked at the defensive qualities of Hurley and Zebo against Ulster to be honest.
Murray doesn't seem to be the great white hope at SH he was touted to be at the start of the season.
Couglin and Earls are injured.
Jones needs some proper coaching on how to play FB (despite his undoubted skills)
God elp ye if you need to start Horan in the FR.
ROG is not playing well and needs to be benched a little more permanently.
No, I think Munster will do very well to win this one.

Re: Glasgow vs Munster
Really need the Glasgow pack to front up to Munster and secure possession - like the look of our backline and there are lads there that are capable of scoring tries. Would have gone with Meatball over Rhubarb, but few complaints from me. A must win fixture for the Warriors

Re: Glasgow vs Munster
BJ Botha (ribs), Paul O'Connell (knee), James Coughlan (hand), Keith Earls (ankle), Ronan O'Gara (leg), Denis Hurley (leg) and David Wallace (knee) are all sidelined as are Danny Barnes (knee), Dave Foley (shoulder), Ian Nagle (shoulder) and Dave O'Callaghan (knee) so that just three of the pack retain their starting positions from last week while there are five changes to the backline.
01 Wian du Preez
02 Mike Sherry
03 Stephen Archer
04 Donnacha O'Callaghan
05 Mick O'Driscolll
06 Donnacha Ryan
07 Tommy O'Donnell
08 Peter O'Mahony
09 Tomas O'Leary
10 Ian Keatley
11 Simon Zebo
12 Lifeimi Mafi
13 Johne Murphy
14 Luke O'Dea
15 Felix Jones
16 Damien Varley
17 Marcus Horan
18 John Ryan
19 Billy Holland
20 Paddy Butler
21 Conor Murray
22 Scott Deasy
23 Ivan Dineen
I think its a good team and should be able to win this game.

Re: Glasgow vs Munster
Munster away and Lineen puts one of the best kickers in the league on the bench in favour of one of the worst??
If Glasgow are going to win this one they need to take all their chances, and might not be able to get away with Jackson missing some goals.

I think Glasgow need to start looking at other options for exactly that reason. I don't know if Stuart Hogg or Troy Nathan can kick goals but Glasgow definitely need someone more reliable than Jackson when we start him. Weir's kicking hasn't been as good as a lot of Glasgow fans make out and he's not playing that well generally. If Glasgow do win, I would think it would be by a fairly slim margin so I would have picked Weir. What are the odds it'll be yet another draw?

Re: Glasgow vs Munster
Don't like the Hogg at 13 Murchie at 15 drill. Doesn't utilise their skills well at all. That said, it would be massively encouraging if Jackson, Dunbar and Hogg could form a good midfield partnership.
I also agree that Jackson is lucky to start this one. Could be a very costly decision.
Having seen the Munster team, this is winnable, but it's going to need the usual huge collective effort from Glasgow, particularly the pack.
I'm going to tip Glasgow to win by 5, but only because of the weakened Munster line-up.

I think that the likes of O'Leary, O'Callaghan, O'Driscoll, O'Dea, Archer, Murphy, Keatley who were not picked for the ERC match will be very up for it and see it as a chance to maybe earn a starting berth in future.
Internal competition acts as a great way to keep intensity high (or should do in theory).

In terms of his performances? His contract debate? His continued switching between 4 and 6?
Re: Glasgow vs Munster
Munster will win handily, we don't lose as much in Cork and the crowd will be up for it.

I looked at that team 4 times. 4!!!! And I didn’t see him.
Disregard.
Here, what you make of Brendan Fanning saying that Tana Umaga is favourite for the Munster job? Apparently the shortlist is Umaga, Canterbury ITM coach Rob Penney and Axel Foley.

Re: Glasgow vs Munster
Umaga is a bizarre choice. I know he coached Toulon but he was a very poor head coach from what I remember - a good backs coach though. I wont be happy if he gets it.
I am very surprised that Penney is mentioned - he is juggling NZ U20s and also Canterbury. I would think he would have to give up coaching NZ U20 if he took Munster. Considering he only got that gig in November it would seem strange.
There is a lack of quality candidates and I can only see Axel getting it really. He isn't the finished article by any means and he will make mistakes but he will still do a good job.

Re: Glasgow vs Munster
That Munster team looks better than I thought it was going to, after seeing the injury list. I think that back row looks really good actually. Stick Ryan in second row and DOCv2 when he returns to 6 and that looks like a possible future Munster back row.

Umaga! Jeebus that improve interprovincial relations with Leinster no end!....
Foley looks a bit unsure of himself though. Maybe Munster need someone with a bit more experience?
Surprised Bradley hasn't been linked with the job?

He should be but given he is the son in law of Noel Murphy it might be seen as favouritism...but he is an excellent backs coach and he and Foley together would be a great ticket. My bet is Bradley is more interested long term in the Ireland job.

Strong looking bench for the Warriors esp front row. Great to see JB back at 8 - may be his last start for the black and blues. C'mon the Warriors

Re: Glasgow vs Munster
I think Warriors have the momentum and sole focus to do this. They have lost 1 in the last 15. Unreal form.
No offence to Munster but this would mean so much more to Warriors. And I feel Munster will qualify anyway.

Re: Glasgow vs Munster
Why Munster/Ireland fans would want O'Mahony to play at 7 I will never know. His attributes clearly suit playing 8 more than anything. Maybe 6. Never 7. He is having a cracking game, giving Munster such momentum and go forward ball. Also is anyone watching this?

Warriors have surprised me here. Just not committed enough. Maybe Lineen will get them going in the 2nd half. Munster just seem to want it more.

Seriously though, I wasn't just saying he is an 8 for no reason. He actually SUITS the position. Unlike the 7 experiment.
