Out of position 15

Another select a 15 thread:

Make a 15 of players playing in positions they haven't played properly (they can have played there a couple of times, but not regularly- define by your own criteria)

You can pick from anyone, or use a theme: like only players from 1 country or competition or only players with beards. I don't care

This is clearly inspired by the Smith at 12 selection for the weekend. With props, we'll loosen the rules a bit (TH and LH count as different positions and players like Smit who have played Prop but are primarily Hookers can be used)

Just take the Scotland squad they last time they played and job done.

You didn't say the 15 had to be a good one.

I honestly can't do 1-3 I don't know a thing about it, someone can fill that in for me. I had a bit of fun with this - it's by no means the 'best' team.

Oh come on, Ubogu at inside centre? Surely Coochie Chilcott would be a better pick there. Also suggest Mike Tindall at scrum half - with the quality of his passing, we'd be such a good side

With his distribution at 9, Mauro Bergamasco directly set up 3 tries (if memory serves) in his 40 minutes of International rugby, just a shame it was for the other team.

England Vs Wales 2008 when injuries forced us into having Ben Kay at 6 and Cipriani (making his debut?) at 13 was a bit of a horror show. Monye at 15 was equally as bad.

Alun-Wyn Jones also came on as prop for the Lions in the second test, when Jenkins and Jones both got injured (although uncontested scrums ensued). On that note, Joe Worsley spent a lot of time in the Wasps front row before the advent of 8 man benches!

If this topic is supposed to be about successfully playing players out of position though, France just got to a World Cup final with Parra at 10, so he might be a decent shout for a place. SBW wasn't terrible on the wing (but wasn't as good as he was at centre), and I think Phillips played at 12 for the Lions in a tour game (and didn't do too badly). Shane Williams has filled in at 9 in the past as well, and would be a decent call.

In the forwards, both Haskell and Robshaw have put in decent stints for England at 7 (when they are both more naturally 6s), Ryan Jones has done well for Wales when asked to play in the second row. Zanni is naturally a Number 8, but with Parisse in his way he's filled in well at flanker.

But I think the best shout is Radike Samo playing on the wing for Australia. Unbelievable selection, and wasn't too bad!
