Mosley might get a draw on at least 1 card with Trowbridge judging he seems to have come up with some odd 1s lately.
For the record I have it 118-111 at the close

Good fight actually. I was impressed with Alvarez. Definately passed this test the right way.
Credit to Mosley. He turned up to win and showed tremedous grit. I actually think he will still get fights based on that showing.

Such a disgrace that Towbridge gets to judge this fight after what he did to Abril.

Give over Az, stop hating on the kid.
Wasn't it you who said he was chinny also, like every argument you bring up cotto the fat lightweight, he defiantly isnt chinny after this.
He is quick, powerful and defensively sound. Mosley hit a lot of gloves and arms, and when in trouble simply tied up.
Mosley just won't get knocked out, Alvarez couldn't do anything more

Well that was a very very good fight, won't be surprised if it's better than the main-event.
Az fair enough, its time for Alvarez to be put in a risky fight now. More than ready.

On a completely different tangent while we are waiting for Floyd.... Is Ricky Hatton promoted Anthony Crolla being on the panel tonight a sign of things to come i.e Hattons stable going to Boxnation?

Difference of opinion is great!
I agree with Azania that on this fight Saul hasn't looked too hot.

Just said in your other thread TD that fight doesn't tell you a lot. He could of stepped it up at any time but showed to much respect to Mosley.

Re: Mayweather-Cotto official fight thread
I think he expected Mosley to wilt quicker than he did. Mosley was past his prime but managed to sustain his stamina for longer than he did vs mayweather. He looked more like the mayweather Mosley than the one vs pacquiao. He had hunger and really sucked it in to survive

Re: Mayweather-Cotto official fight thread
I honestly cant see the complaints with Alvarez in that. What did he do wrong?
Worst thing one could argue really was that Mosley is past it but Alvarez did what he had to do quite impressively. Mosley is just made of rock. Ive never seen him look so marked up though.
Alvarez defence even looked better than usual which is something I wasnt banking on. Nice shot variety, extremelly accurate (50%!), good mix between head and body. Why the criticism?

I think everyone is looking past the idea of Hatton promotions joining boxnation, Hatton knows that if he doesn't get a TV company involved then his fighters will leave and boxnation will offer more money than ITV/BBC/Channel 5, so financially it would make sense for Hatton and Warren to bury the hatchet.

Floyd seems more nervous than normal to me, not as jokey walking to the ring.

He said hes tired being the bad guy so that may be why, and going in first means his opponent won't see him do it anyway
Can't believe the commentators saying that mayweather could tire for wearing leather shorts. he's a pro boxer that won't do anything to him

20-18 floyd, better from cotto but is hitting gloves and arms when he does connect. Floyd is wipping in right hands

These commentators are putting my head away, Yes Mayweather looks great, but even when Cotto lands and Floyd misses they are praise Floyd for it.

Commentators are getting a bit carried away. If this was Mosley/Alvarez they would be saying the rounds were close.

Re: Mayweather-Cotto official fight thread
Floyd may go on to KO Cotto later but I think the commentator is getting a little too excited at this stage, Cotto has not looked hurt despite Floyd looking impressive.

Re: Mayweather-Cotto official fight thread
i think even if cotto drops mayweather they will praise mayweather for powers of recovery or something
Re: Mayweather-Cotto official fight thread
Better round for cotto, however, he's using a lot of energy for little reward

Definitely Manos, Mayweather is on it because he needs to be.
He's trying to take the middle ring but Miguel is still in there.
Floyd clearly winning at this stage.

Re: Mayweather-Cotto official fight thread
Cotto seemed to switch to fighting off the back foot there instead of chasing Floyd and it worked for him in that round.
