Re: Fantasy European League Season 2 Homepage™
I'm with Hero, Madrid's defence aint bad.
The majority of the team are thugs with talent.
I wouldnt take Lescott as he is too inconsistent.
Terry - another thug
Rio - lost his mojo
Cahill - inexperienced against the best
difficult choice
I have a feeling that Terry will be taken at Rio's expense

Morning guys. Didn't realise we'd started picking teams. Will let you know my choice soon. Going to go for one of the CL Finalists but not sure which one. Never managed Chelsea so that does appeal but Bayern are a strong outfit.
As for England, SAF has already intimated that he doesn't feel Rio can play a match every 4 days. It will be JT for sure. I assume Hodgson must have assessed whether any players would have a problem with him in the squad.
We'll find out about Cahill on Saturday. I have been impressed by his displays for us so far.
Looks like Carroll is going to be in as well. A shame someone like Holt can get a chance. I'd take Crouch as well.

Cahill has been our best cb since February, he had Messi in his pocket in the first game. Thank god both him and Luiz are fit for Munich!
And Guv don't you dare...

Re: Fantasy European League Season 2 Homepage™
Sooooo tempting though, especially if Courtois, Marin and De Bruyne can be in the squad. Courtois has won the EL this season. Tremendous bit of business for us. The only problem we have now is deciding when time is up for Cech. He was looking a bit wobbly mid-season but has been top class lately.
Agree re Cahill and Luiz fit. We badly need them 100% fit. My main worry is that Ribery or possibly Robben will be up against Bosingwa. I'm hoping Bos has one of his good days. Too few of them in recent times.
Who do you think will be on the right? When I saw the starting XI v Blackburn my initial instinct was that none of them would be starting on Saturday, including Sturridge. I am wondering whether RDM is going to go with Torres out there. Very attacking line up but maybe that will be a good thing.

That's what I mean. We now have 2 top class keepers on our hands. One of them won't be happy to sit on the bench. I imagine we'll loan Courtois out again next season, possibly back to Atletico, and maybe the season after but at some point he'll get fed up with being loaned out.

Re: Fantasy European League Season 2 Homepage™
Why thank you Guv, my pick is....
And Courtois is being called back from loan with immediate effect, best young keeper in the world imo. Personally Guv I agree with Torres on the right. Unless we put Malouda there? Missing Ramires is the key for us but Mata might be the star.

- The Pride of London, Chelsea FC

Re: Fantasy European League Season 2 Homepage™
I'd go with Torres as well. Just need to tell him to track back and run his socks off. This is the pinnicle in club football in Europe so I'd hope everyone will be willing to run themselves into the ground. It looks like Bayern will be going in with a very attack minded side as well so our best bet is to bypass midfield, where they are very strong, and get the ball up to Drogba who should hopefully bully the Bayern CBs and get Mata, Torres and Kalou into the game. My only worry is if Lamps goes forward too much. It would leave Mikel exposed.

What's the odds a certain ex-Chelsea player who looks about 50 comes back to bite you in the backside?

Old glass legs? I certainly hope not.
We'll need a bit of good fortune to win. I just hope we didn't use it all up vs Barca.

Re: Fantasy European League Season 2 Homepage™
Cheers Pull - I will think about my choice.
Ribery is the dangerman....oh...I meant Gomez...maybe Lahm...could be Kroos...and there is Mueller.
Not watching it on ITV as they must be advertising for Jose Mourinho.com

No Micah but Glen Johnson
No A Johnson but Downing
No Holt but Carroll
anyone seen a pattern?
Henderson on the stand-by made me laugh the most

Love this stat - Downing has not contributed a single goal or assist in Liverpool's PL campaign despite 34 appearances.

It is being reported that Roy Hodgson picked John Terry over Rio Ferdinand because the rest of the squad were uncomfortable with Terry being left in England with their wives...
