Went round my mates house to watch it. 10 lads. 4 Chelsea supporters. Somone turns the TV off just before the Drogba penalty. The mood turned sour quickly.
Anyway, well done Chelsea!

Had 4 of the lads round celebrated Drogba's pen like a Utd goal. One of the lads a Liverpool supporter didn't even celebrate, wanted Bayern to win.

Morning all
It was Drogba's destiny. He was everywhere and immense.
Saying that Gomez was rubbish and my rating of him and Schweinstiger has dropped dramatically now
Well done Chelsea

Couldn't believe how dire Gomez was. I also think Drogba was pants apart from his goal and penalty. He was so lethargic in the first half. Ashley Cole deserved MOTM.

Gomez is very much a striker that can miss sitters but often nets a hatful. Unfortunately he just had a bad day at the office on Saturday night.

Re: Fantasy European League Season 2 Homepage™
There are sitters and there misses. He was terrible and cost Bayern the victory
Drogba was good in set-piece defending and held the ball up when needed.
No theatrics.
Beware of my predictions.
Arsenal still looking for deals

Can I just say one thing? Well done on winning the CL and all that ( I lost £35), but Di Matteo will have the re-build the squad. And then because Frank, John and Cashley will be mad at being dropped, he'll be fired like AVB who did nothing wrong.

Re: Fantasy European League Season 2 Homepage™
That is the problem TSC although I disagree about AVB. He was given a task and he went about it the wrong way. He should have seen what was happening well before it became the problem it did but he didn't and he ended up isolating himself and losing player loyalty and splitting the dressing room. Poor man management. It is time for the older players to slowly step aside and let younger ones come through but you cannot simply dismiss those payers the way AVB tried.
RDM has done a good job but has done what he needed to do, i.e. get the established players back and playing a system that suits them. He deserves credit for that alone after the confidence has got so low under AVB but also deserves credit for some of his tactical decisions. They have worked well. He saw we could not take Barca or Bayern on in an open game, they are both superior to us on that front. The only way was to be organised and disciplined. The players did it superbly even though it must have been fairly dour to watch for the neutral. I said to Mrs Guv that we had become to the CL what Greece were to the Euros in 2004 but we would not have won it otherwise. What is a club supposed to do in that situation?
But back to RDM. You are right that it is one thing getting a final hurrah out of the old guard but the club needs to slowly replace those players. AVB went about it all the wrong way. He was abrasive and underestimated the loyalty of the squad to each other. I don't think RDM would be the same, at least I hope not.
JT and Cole can play for another couple of years no problem with Bertrand getting more time at LB and the CBs rotated. Lampard needs to have his playing time slowly reduced but he needs to agree with the approach and accept it. As for Drogba, that is our hardest problem. The current team is set up to play around him. It doesn't suit most strikers. I think he should leave now whilst his final moments are good ones. Best way to leave. Then we can build around a new striker. I think that should be Torres .

Re: Fantasy European League Season 2 Homepage™
Torres' statement about how low he felt and the way he got treated certainly affected his time here.
No matter what you do, if you feel that your not treated fairly, then it would have an effect.
Why did JT have his kit on when celebrating? I thought he would be suited and booted.
Platini's face was a picture as he hated congratulating the Chelsea team

Re: Fantasy European League Season 2 Homepage™
Platini was hilarious. His plans up in smoke. Just hope England can beat France in the Euros. Really make him miserable.
Torres' comments don't come as a surprise. What should we expect. I am always a little suspicious of interviews translated into English since the meaning can sometimes be distorted a little. Not being treated fairly? Not sure about that. Did he really mean that or is that how it translates into English but has a slightly different slant in Spanish. He must know he wasn't performing well at the start of the season and thus was on the bench. Stands to reason. But he looked happy enough at the end of the match and on the bus yesterday. He won't want to spend most of next season on the bench and that is totally understandable so yes, he ought to have a word with the Chelsea hierachy to see how they see him playing going forward. If we keep Drogba then I would say Torres should leave for his own sake. If we are not keeping Drogba, as the rumours seem to suggest, then Torres ought to become our main striker and we need to play around him.

Platini just despises the English clubs, a wonderful footballer but just an absolute w***er of a president of UEFA. Worst thing is he'll probably become Blatter's successor at FIFA.

Hero - I think that will be inevitable unfortunately.
France vs England should be a cracker
Anyone see the new Nike advert?
Pretty good.
Fair play to Ronaldo to look like a t*t at the end

Was very pleased Chelsea won. Can understand and agree with Kamran too that Gomez is terrible. Never really got the hype surrounding him. Schweinsteiger was good though I thought until he missed that penalty, that's all he really did wrong - Bayern's midfield dominated the game.

Better than Pique? Gary Cahill, Vidic, Hummels

Rightly or wrongly, Kompany, Silva, Vidic, Rio, Terry rated higher than Puyol on here.

Gary Cahill is not better than Carles Puyol. I'd agree Vidic and Thiago Silva probably are, maybe even Kompany. I rate Ferdinand highly but don't know if everyone else does.
