Re: Fantasy European League Season 2 Homepage™
It's all a little bit skewed on here lol, I'm with you - Puyol is a class act and still one of the best. There's no way Subotic and Hummels are better at this moment in time.
You (or I) don't decide the results though, the other managers do so it's their opinion that matters!
It's interesting. Last season Lavezzi, Gotze, Gomez, Cavani were highly rated and did well for their sides.

I know Pull, will be interesting but it's a problem whether to go for your own personal preferences or go to what everyone else thinks is stronger. Hmm.
I've never actually rated Gomez, just one of those players everyone overrates but he's always bottled it on the big stage and I've thought his finishing is lacking.

Re: Fantasy European League Season 2 Homepage™
Gomez is still quality, just because he fluffed in one game doesn't make him a bad un.
Look at Rooney at the last world cup, would that warrant him being poor?
Knee jerk reactions!!!
Oh and top five CBs in Europe in order according to me...
1. Kompany
2. Silva
3. Vidic (would be 2nd barring injury)
4. Hummels (those that don't rate him clearly haven't seen him, best defender in Germany)
5. Pique
6-10 Chiellini (would be higher if he played centreback more but stuck at LB too much), Subotic, Vermaelen, Lucio, Colochinni.

Hero - vicious reply slating MY Rooney
Gomez peeved me off with horrible finishing.
Vidic number 1 for me when all fit.
Hope to see more of Hummels in the Euros

Vidic is easily the best when he's fit, the man is a machine. One brilliant season from Kompany doesn't make him the best there is.
I've just never personally got the hype with Gomez.

Re: Fantasy European League Season 2 Homepage™
Gomez has scored 41 goals this season, He has 21 for Germany, that is not a poor striker by any stretch of the imagination.
I heard someone mention during the final that he's the German Andy Cole because he does miss some sitters, quite a fair comparison in honesty. But what most fail to realise is that in that comparison the reason both of those players missed so many chances was because they are/were so good at getting in the right position, far better to be getting in the postitions and putting away 1 out 3 etc than 0 out of 0.

He's a 100x flipping Adebayor
Last season he scored 48 goals in 55 games which makes 89 goals in 2 seasons, only Ronaldo and Messi have a better strike rate in Europe.

Hero - we get it - you rate him.
Your stats are impressive though I have to say
Still miffed with for Saturdays poor performance.
Big stages stick in my mind.

Re: Fantasy European League Season 2 Homepage™
All great players have a night when they freeze on the big stage, look at the last world cup, Messi, Ronaldo and Rooney just weren't the players they are heralded to be.
Ronaldo had a real big game freezer tag for a while but seems to coming through it, Drogba on the other hand is the complete opposite, looks halfarsed v most sides, stick him in a final and he's unplayable.

Re: Fantasy European League Season 2 Homepage™
Argentina's Manager was Maradona so there was no tactics involved and Germany were tactically miles better.
Ronaldo is a choker back in them days
You cant blame Rooney for England demise. He is their star player but service was rubbish.
Brazil's tactics are the best. The find a formation and fit players accordingly.
Argentina used to do that with Riquelme pulling the strings.
But how are they going to fit Aguero, Messi, Tevez, Higuain, Di Maria in one team? Brave manager to drop one of them

Problem with Argentina is that even if they have all of this attacking talent, their defence is beyond guff.

Hope they have some emerging talent defensively that can help that side because I have never seen an International side that has so much great attacking players

Yeah I can't rebuke that, whilst they have a plethora of talent going forward they just shockingly poor in depth at the back.

Re: Fantasy European League Season 2 Homepage™
Pull, if a player is soon to be available for free in real life (e.g. Rodellega) can the tp be for £0?
Re: Fantasy European League Season 2 Homepage™
Difficult one. I'd say no, min price for a player is £1 mil.

The question you should be asking if anyone rates Forlan at all
Personally, I prefer him up top.
Closer to goal, the better

Are Man Utd being linked with Alaba or Alba? I thought Alba was going to Barca.

Re: Fantasy European League Season 2 Homepage™
Alaba, but there's little to no chance we'll actually sign him. If we wanted a LB that could be better than Evra in the future, we wouldn't need to sign anyone as we have Fabio. We need someone as good as, better, or even only marginally worse than Evra (Baines) to keep him on his toes.

Yeah they are indeed. Delighted to get Silva in, thought he would have been snapped up yesterday. I love overrated English teams. Get so much money for releasing rubbish.
I've not seen any of De Bruyne but from what I've heard he is good.
