Barrel's Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub & Restaurant, Luderitz
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat. The pub has stayed in Africa this week as part of its build up to the Heineken Cup final, and attached itself to Barrels restaurant in Luderitz, Namibia, known for its beer, Eisbein and sing-a-longs.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of Simon Danielli, Federico Aramburu and the possibly Auckland-bound Joe Schmidt.

I must learn to plan in advance!!
I'm actually considering getting the train down just for the day and watching it in a pub somewhere! My last train home is 21:00 so it is doable.

Weekend plan:
Begin to gather in London Friday lunchtime - looking at pub lunch in South End Green as poor weather option, possible Hoog bbq if weather ok
5pm-ish, travel from Hamptead Heath to Richmond on overground and on to Twickenham to meet with PcPete
8pm Amlin Challenge Cup final - Biarritz Olympique vs RC Toulon - more drinks afterwards nearby the Stoop or in Richmond
Saturday lunchtime, 12.30pm onwards, congregate at the Triple Crown in Richmond - maps and directions here: The Triple Crown
3pm onwards head off to Twickenham for Heineken Cup final - Leinster vs Ulster (3pm earlier depature for those heading to fanzone, later departure for rest) - should be a bus from the Richmond Athletic Ground (home of London Scottish) directly opposite the TC, else train from Richmond to Twickenham
Drinks post match back in Richmond at the Orange Tree (if taken over by footie fans, head to the Sun directly behind the OT) - maps and directions here: The Orange Tree
Give myself, Hoog or Dave a shout if there's anything there that doesn't make sense or you're not clear about
There ya go Swanny

Dreamer, enjoying some Schadenfreude at this Munster implosion? They've been as bad as I've ever seen, this is a result that will scar Munster for a long time.

Fab! Thank you
I can easily get to Richmond for 12.30 ish. May have to get a slightly earlier train home, the 21:00 has a change at Stafford. If the connecting train doesn't run I'm stranded! Earlier one is 20:20, which I could do, just have to be organised I need a London reg to give me an idea of transit times! It's looking more and more likely I'll be there, will let you know

is it bad that I'm just sat here with a big on my face?
All though to be fair that's just because the tries have been so great, just the sort of rugby I like to see, and even better to actually here the O's fans getting involved. Welsh rugby needs them to be a strong region so I'm just happy to see that
Munster regs Your young guys are going to learn a heck of a lot from this match.
O's regs - what a win! Should have got Tandy coaching sooner

No. Their defence was taught a lesson today I thought, and just the aggression you need to bring to a game. The O's dominated in that respect

Sods law dictates that after having had an all-Irish final in London there'll be no Irish sides involved in Dublin next year but I'm planning to go down for it anyway
Ditto Notch. I am kicking myself for missing this season's final and won't be making that mistake twice.
My word that was the softest Munster side I've ever seen. It was painful to watch a side I've always admired so easily brushed aside.

Re: Barrel's Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub & Restaurant, Luderitz
Been getting score updates from Andy W. Didn't see that score coming. Perhaps Munster would rather lose away to the Os (no shame really) than get munched by Leinster in the final.
I guess the Rabo (Provinces*) doesn't have the same stipulation about fielding your strongest team available** in league fixtures.
* same as with England, there are mandatory 'stand down' periods for players in the national squad. I can't believe that is the case in the Rabo this weekend.
** The Sale team v Quins game, which had Cockers up in arms.

From the scoreline, looks like X Keys got a fair deal - but why they put Munster A out against the Buzzards I have no idea?!Risca Rev wrote:Mark Ring (@MarkRing10)

Just saw munster squad for semi v ospreys. 11 of them were involved for munster 'A' in B & I Final v The Keys! 8 of them in the forwards!
Cheating buzzards those Munster types. Moral victory for the Keys woohoo.

Munster crumbled like a soggy digestive in Swansea, Joe Schmidt ditching Leinster for Auckland Blues and Ulster are just a lot of foreign mercenaries*

I know how it feels to lose to the O's by a point margin like that (although I think ours was even worse!) Not nice.

Certainly the most inept I've ever seen them. It was a sad sight really, a once great team reduced to chasing shadows.

Probably have to go into a monastery or the like. Of course loud chants of 'Stand Up for the Ulstermen' are possibly detrimental to that way of life so I'd imagine I'd be back posting before too much longer.
