Re: Newcastle Falcons Thread - Use Championship thread
I think your argument should be the AP teams should have their own section rather than non AP.
As you can see there is Rabo, S15 threads also.
If you don't like, complain to the Mods

Ah Hersh your a funny guy.
Bristol , so you can have your South West Derby...i can only imagine the borefest that would be....mediocrity at its brightest.
Cumbrian i agree...Sale would be better bringing through one of their academy guys than Uys...he offers nothing...
Yes pooly ill get signed up tonight....havent barely had a minute to myself.

I thought they had the young England under 20s OC that was going to play back up to the big PI option. Don't see why Uys is being brought in to shove the young lad down the pecking order further.

True, but things could change.
I just think that all the Jeff clubs deserve their own section for being at the pinnacle of club rugby, unlike some other clubs that knock around in the lower leagues.
It's about perception, the Jeff needs to stand out above the rest.

Re: Newcastle Falcons Thread - Use Championship thread
Guys,
You may have already seen this but
Edinburgh v Newcastle:
15 Greig Tonks;
14 Lee Jones,
13 John Houston,
12 Ben Atiga,
11 Mike Penn;
10 Harry Leonard,
9 Chris Leck
1 Jacobsen,
2 Titterrell,
3 Cross,
4 Gilchrist,
5 Cox,
6 Basilaia,
7 Grant (C),
8 McInally
Subs - Hislop, Nel, Turnbull, Talei, Rees, Hunter, Visser, Turner, Allan, McAlpine, Parker, Watson, Black, Farndale, Walker,Turner
Strong pack and pace to burn out wide in the backs. Looking forward to WP Nel coming off the bench too.
Not our first team but probably close to what our team would be when the international players are away.

Good performance from the lads.
Scrum looks impressive....or was Edinburgh just very poor.
Need a hooker who.is both tough AND can throw.
Not sure.on that Fijian lad at ten.
Bodes well forth season though.

Re: Newcastle Falcons Thread - Use Championship thread
It's not far off Rava , still missing Tui'fua in the back row. Surprised at some of the picks tbh.
MacLeod was fantastic against Edinburgh but might struggle to lead the lineout a bit. Muller could have a field day because Vickers throw is the worst i'v seen of any pro rugby player.

Think Bristol have built a decent squad, Tagicakibau could be a revelation in the championship, if I was a briss fan id be reasonably optmistic.

Re: Newcastle Falcons Thread - Use Championship thread
Not sure by some of those selections....
Why is James Fitzpatrick not getting much preseason time.
Alex Tait on the wing?
No Tui'Fua
Lawson over Pilgrim...
I still think the coaches are experimenting...but to be honest i dont think i would be able to pick the nailed on first choice team this season.....
God we need a top notch hooker though...who can throw.

Re: Newcastle Falcons Thread - Use Championship thread
Driver - We have made some good signings, in particular a big, ball carrying number 8 (a Samoan lad whose name I can't remember), which is something we were lacking last year.
My main concern is the quality of the other clubs, Newcastle are better than LW (as are Bristol) so that makes the league harder. Bedford will be tough with their dual club players, I think Leeds will be good, and have a feeling for Nottingham too.
