Ospreys first to win Celtic league 4 times
WELL DONE OSPREYS. Another european failure but Holley and Johnson are gone now and our season has been saved.
3 out of 3 v Munster
3 out of 3 v Leinster (double heineken cup winners)
What a season for the Ospreys. The youngsters have outperformed the "galacticos" players that have vacated over the past few seasons.
Exciting times ahead.

Impressive stuff...!
Some very good opposition in the Rabo these days. With such talented youngsters in this squad this years win was very impressive.

Congrats to the Ospreys - Europe has to be the main aim next season, there is no reason this Ospreys outfit shouldnt be making the latter stages of the Heineken.

The 2 games v Saracens showed that the youngsters weren't quite ready for the Heineken Cup, but this league win will give them so much confidence.

Shane Williams really ought to stop playing before the powers that be figure out he's a robot.

As good as that is we can also point out, we had a home draw with the Scarlets and lost up there too, beaten home and away by Glasgow, beaten home and away by Saracens, stuffed out of sight in Biaritz, drew away in Treviso in the Heinaken Cup.
We have plenty of positives, but quite a few negatives, but to be honest we have a lot more hope for the future now than we did a few months ago, and we have retained most of the players we needed too, for all the losses people talk about the lads who are leaving only Paul James was in the pack and we have Bevington to come in to replace him.

first of congratulations to the ospreys. I'm not a Leinster fan so have no axe to grind. I thought Leinster missed Brad thorn in the scrums. I've also very rarely even seen a match were 2 players from the same side were yellowed for scrum offences. I'm also seriously surprised that the Ospreys didn't end up with a man in the bin for a number of breakdown offences. The yellow cards essentially decided the game playing with 14 men for 20 mins in that heat against a top level side proved too much. I also thing that the try the Ospreys got in the second half from the line out may of featured a couple of forward passes. All in all it was a very enjoyable match to watch. I still think however that Leinster are by far the best side in the Rabo as was illustrated by the fact that they nearly snatched it at the end

Hang on, Leinster choose to repeatidly collapse instead of going backwards, they could have easily gotten other yellows when bishop broke through and when a player on the floor threw his arm up to block the ball from the scrum half.
And Leinster ar still the best side in the Rabo when they came second?

Congratulations to Ospreys. Stole the thunder from Leinster's end of season and gave themselves the thunder instead.
I have to say Leinster had a serious amount of hurdles to overcome and so losing by a point in the end is sickening when you take into account what they were chasing (Pro12 PLUS the two titles in one year) but also no honour lost in such a defeat to such a team. They knocked the stuffing out of each other and Ospreys just had enough stuffing to edge it.
Great end of season game in the impressive heat and sunlight. Ospreys will be looking to improve still more and be more of a force in HC next season. Leinster - well they'll be looking for something very special in the HC ...and trying once more for that damned two in a row I suppose. Actually, I think they'll both have some serious challenges put up to them in League and HC... so maybe both should enjoy the moment.

I guess he means Leinster won more games in the League proper and more games overall by I think one. But there you go, they didn't win the right one in the end. Roll on next season.

Improving? The one that lasted that is. The new one.... well, it'll start iffy and also improve. What is the question asking or getting at Sugar?

Nah, it's more about semantics than ability or form. It's not been the Celtic League for a while. The Italian contingent on here might get all "British" Lions about itSecretFly wrote:sugarNspikes wrote:What are Italian sides doing in this 'Celtic' League?

Ah yeah. Well whenever I use the word 'Celtic'...well, I do what I've just done, put commas around it to suggest the dubiousness of it.
Anyway, from my experience, it's mostly the English posters who throw that 'Celtic' league stuff at us. I don't like it but not because I'm feeling the hurt of the Italians but simply because I don't like it - I'm Irish, the Welsh are Welsh, the Scots and Scots and the Italians are mostly beautiful.......

Cyril, sugar, maybe your time on here would be far better spent if your opinions were ones on rugby, rather than solely a critical analysis of something scribed by another forum member.
