Roland Garros - Day 10
First topic message reminder :
Thought I'd take my turn.
Djokovic v Tsonga.
Could stretch Noles nerves, as he'll have the crowd very much against him, which he's been known to be a bit funny about. Djokovic in 4.
Federer v Del Potro.
Fed may approach this with more confidence than he would have Berdych, as he seems to have been owning JMDP this year. Then again, he did him up like a kipper at AO 2009 and was lucky to get past him at the French. The cold damp conditions may help Del Boy too. However I think Federer will move the big man around more than he likes. Fed in 4, maybe 5 though I think it may be one of those annoying matches where he looks weak.
Do I have to do the Womens? No, I should;
Cibulkova v Stosaur
Stosaur. In 3 interminable sets.
Errani v Kerber
I have no idea who these people are.

Fed breaks. Amazing stuff, 2 sets down and Fed comes fighting back.
It's not over yet but even if Fed loses, he deserves credit for not rolling over dead like he did against Tsonga last year @ Wimbledon!

Re: Roland Garros - Day 10
Look Federer has raised his level no doubt but that coincided with a drop from Delpo and it really is quite clear that he is struggling with his movement. Having said that though Delpo is still dangerous with his groundstrokes. If Federer's level drops he can let the Argentine back in.

Tsonga saves another break point with a crashing serve, then an absolutely thumping forehand and another ace. 5-4 and one game away.

Should Fed win this match, it does show that unlike in 2010 and 2011, instead of losing close matches, he's winning them and this is now transferring into grand slams matches too.

4-1 now. Come on Rog. No more drama. Us Fed fans got the point. You wanted to increase TV ratings. Now get clinical and boring please.

You can't call it a close match after set 2 luciusmann...Delpo stopping playing after then. Shame for the match.

I think Delpo has given up now. The cause is lost, that's how it seems now.
This is quite a come back from Fed, one for us Fed fans to marvel at!

Re: Roland Garros - Day 10
The 2nd set was close lydian, except for the tie breaker. Fed had his chances, so in my book, the score-line doesn't really do justice to how close it actually was in that set. It wasn't far off from being 1-1 instead of 2-0.

Djokovic saves match point and wins the game. It cannot be denied (not to jinx Djokovic).

Game, Set, Match!?!?!..... ALMOST.... Saving volley from Djoko.
It is the NY semi-final again for the Djoko when he fights back!
Deuce. Two match points saved!

Great serving from Djokovic. Tsonga had a quarter of a chance with that back-hand pass but afterwards... zilch.

This is top tennis now, Tsonga with some big shots and then deft touch on the drop shot. 6-5...

Some drama from Roger, but he's through, after some shaky stuff in ninth game. Novak's will to win is too strong for Jo Wilfried. This is Nadalesque
