I dunno about Lescott and Terry. I mean I like them both but they both prefer to play on the left side of defence. So what we could do is play one of them with Jagielka so they are on there preferred side, and I quite like Jagielka as well. Think he is a solid CB

Reckon we could have done with Rio in the side to be honest

I know he's 33 and maybe youth should win out, but I would feel more comfortable with him over Lescott, Jagielka or Jones.

Either way, I've put my fiver in the pot and I'm going to be down in a basement workshop with 15-20 other men drinking and being all men like for 2 hours.

Based purely on football though

Take all the other crap away and I still think he is the best CB we have

Yes Olly the Ferdinand debate.

When the England defence concede a goal or make a mistake you'll get people saying "Oh if Rio was there that wouldn't happen" and I'll be one of them saying that.

Roy had to choose between Terry and Ferdinand. He chose Terry because he thinks Terry is better. And if I'm honest I probably would have chosen Terry too. Just my thoughts on the whole affair

They should both be there really. But if they couldn't coexist we took the wrong one. Terry is a typically English defender, blocking everything, sticking his face in when boots are flying... Rio is more considered and a better footballer. It's a shame he's lost out seemingly through no fault of his own.

Yes I would agree but do you not think Terry suits the style of football Hodgson is using for this tournament? I mean we are hardly a great passing team

True enough, but it doesn't affect whether we should have the best defender picked for me. If all the defence will be doing is hoofing it up field, I'd rather have Rio's superior long passes to Terry's.

My ideal back two would be both of them though.

West Ham vs Norwich first day - guarantee

I was a hell of a sleeper at 16. I would sleep 13 hours straight and still be tired Laugh

I'm old now though. 8 hours is the maximum. I always feel like I have something to be doing.

Yeah I am in a routine, so I go to sleep around 12 and wake up at 7. I find the more sleep I have the more tired I am Headscratch

And it will be Norwich v Villa first game of the season. Although I would rather West Ham to get off to a good start Wink

Is that before or after they beat you with a Crawley Old Boys XI?

What other fans do we have in here? Almost all United as far as I can tell! Apart from Russ and Chelsea.

So apart from the two Norwich boys, my chances for gloating is all but zero.

Sodhat you can't take that attitude! You can win any game in The Prem! Or at least nick a draw. Hell only two teams did the double over Norwich last season, both Manchester teams unfortunately Sad

Well there will be no joy against Stoke. Never have I seen such an unentertaining team in my life. All they get excited about is throw-ins and set pieces. I will not be going to the Britannia again

I hear we also switched Bastian Schweinsteiger's lucozade for Jack Daniels just before he took his penalty. Anything to stop Spurs getting in to the CL Cool

I watched Stoke vs United last season. They have a way of playing and stick to it, works for them and it's a good tactic, can't deny that.

Reckon 1-0 England tonight, well, I'm sure enough that I've put a tenner on it, returns £70.

COME ON ENGLAND

My page froze while loading, and left me seeing Olly's message as;

Reckon 1-0 England tonight, well, I'm sure enough that I've put a tenner on it, returns £70.

COME ON ENGLAND

Oh god the tactic works for them but my god it is boring to watch

Yeah, I went to see it. They tried to stifle United, gave away two penalties, scored by Hernandez and Berbatov. In all honesty we could have had four or five penalties.

And Rio > Terry, assuming only one could have gone, it should have been Ferdinand and it's an absolute disgrace that he hasn't.

Anyone else get the advert at the top of the page which opens with three attractive Asian women and then the line "looking for a bargain?"

Now it ends up being an airline/holiday thing but they could have definitely carried it off better.

Puts me in mind of McDonald's being the official provider of "player escorts". Too many jokes.

Lol. The striker who failed to get into double figures for a single club, let along in a single season

There is that, but mostly people will remember: "ABBBOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU"

Was reminded of how good Slaven Bilic was last night watching the Croatia match. Never quite went for him at Everton did it? Great player for us though.

I already agreed it with Hero, sorry Afro. I like him, but needed to sell quick to get another deal done.

Was a great player when he first played. But he picked up too many bookings and injuries and never really got himself going

No worries Mouse. I thought Hero has just posted a random number. Didn't realise it was aimed at Cuenca.

I saw that deal for Lisandro, which was a bit strange as surely Cuenca > Lisandro on last seasons performances

I think Lisandro holds more rating on here, I don't go purely on my own thoughts, I'm a yes man.

3.91m was basically the last pennies in my pot and thought it was about time I got to a normal figure (ie 0)
