Cheers Marky OK

What were our thought on England? I was happy with a point, although France weren't as good as I thought. Think they missed M'Vila in midfield

James McClean for £650k.

All it takes is a chance for Ireland against Spain/Italy in their next two games and his value goes BOOM!

He won't be given that chance though. Trap has only given him a half of a game, and clearly doesn't want to bring him on.

I think the minor backlash and the lack of creativity against Croatia might force his hand. He wouldn't have picked him if he wasn't going to consider using him. Maybe he'll see sense and drop Duff who has done nothing for about 3 years at International level!

Marky this is Trap. He is one of the most stubborn managers going. He bought on Simon Cox instead of McClean in the game they needed to win. I think he will get 20 mins at most in one of the games

Can't believe my injuries.

Khedira was never going to play in the Tinpot Trophy, but Jennings was going to be given a chance that now will probably go to McClean.

I was going to put out a decent team, but then Ba and Arteta got injured. So I am playing all my reserves so that only one of my first teamers at most get injured for next week

I did that last season, beat Nick's reserves on penalties in R1 then lost to Hero (who didn't play any reserves) in the QF.

Trebs, one of your two injuries is from your first XI the week before.

Well I say my reserves will be put out, there may have to be one or two first team players to make it work.

I put out my first team for every round of the cup last year and will probably do the same this time round even if it is a risk to my team for the crunch game v Afro next week but I have to give big respect to Twist this week.

I am not interested in the Cup at all. If I win, great. But I am using it to experiment/give my reserves a run out

I'd like to do well in the cup, but the league is more important to me. Hero can afford to take the cup seriously as he's dropped into the lower league Whistle

What would be your ratings for the England players tonight?

Here are mine:

Hart - 7/10 - Thought he was solid, made some good saves. Was unsighted for the goal, maybe if I'm harsh he should have saved it.
Johnson - 7/10 - Was impressed with his defensive work against Ribery. Got forward well.
Terry - 7/10 - Looked solid in defence. Benzema was quiet throughout. Did well.
Lescott - 8/10 - Got the goal but I thought he defended very well and looked good, impressed me indeed.
Cole - 7/10 - Solid as always. Offers a good attacking outlet. Consistent.
Milner - 5/10 - Didn't offer much going forward. Missed a big chance and gave a horrid backpass which he was lucky to get away with. Would replace him with Walcott next game.
Parker 6/10 - Did well, made some good blocks. But not a lot in terms of passing.
Gerrard 7/10 - Lovely free kick for the goal. Tried some hollywood passes at times, but was good and lead the team well.
The Ox 6/10 - Showed glimpses of the talent he has. Never really got into the game, but he looks like a good one for the future.
Young 6/10 - Again showed glimpses and never really got into the game. Him, Welbeck and The Ox did look dangerous on the counter. Expect more next game.
Welbeck - 7/10 - Thought he worked well up front, and got amongst the French centre backs. Ran his socks off and looked threatening. Starved of quality service for the most part.

Both these teams look very shaky at the back. Especially Sweden at the right side of defence

Think we'll beat Sweden then draw with Ukraine, going through.

And I didn't know the rules on injuries etc. as I took part in the cup after we were knocked out.

I think we will beat both teams if I'm honest. Both looked very bad in defence, and Sweden had little going forward apart from Ibrahimovic. Ukraine will be more dangerous because of the home advanatage thing

If we beat Sweden we would only need a point from that game (assuming France beat Ukraine). I am confident we can beat both of them, bit more worried about Ukraine than Sweden

England were better than I thought they would be, and were well drilled defensively while looking a little one dimensional in attack. Against smaller teams I would expect us to take more chances and a little more time on the ball though, so I'm not too downheartened.

France will take the high road and say they played the better football - but for all that football, what did they create? Even their goal wasn't a clear cut chance and I can't think of any gilt-edged misses that we can say, "oh, we were lucky there" about. There was little penetration and that's a good thing.

I used to think that attacking play was the only way you should seek to win but increasingly I see that strong defence is part of the game and no less valid a strategy than attacking football.

Looking for a top striker or a top LW.

I may be willing to do a deal involving Srna and Munian (for the LW) or Lewandowski (for a top striker)

Either of Remy or Jovetic are potentially available

Although I have a mighty tempting lawyer for Remy so you may be out of luck (if you're even interested, which I guess you aren't)

Also TSC may kill you if Lewandowski was let go!

So no thanks on any of those three

Morning

Agree with what you said Sodhat 100% I think this should be our style of play from now on play to our strengths. Like you said against the "smaller" nations I expect England to be more attacking and dominate the game.

I can only think of Higuain, Cavani, Benzema as truly elite CFs and maybe Neymar too. And no one will sell them, I've tried!

Huntelaar isn't an elite striker. He's an elite goalscorer, there's a difference.

Like Mario Gomez, or like Andy Cole when he scored 35 goals in a season for Newcastle.

Morning Lads.

I see Cherries is trying to show the authority he doesn't have. The Cherry Cup = The Milk Cup. Nobody cares about it until they win it, and in some cases it is the only cup they have won in there history in 1985

They both met up in a secret spot in Boston with a guy named PINEAPPLEHEAD they had to wear cream jumpers and drink Cranberry Vodka while they listen to George Michael and touched each other.
