Re: Fantasy Premiership Season 1 - Homepage
I prefer him as a strong impact sub option. He can do damage off the bench, covers 11, 13-15 but isn't really a specialist 13 so if I started him I'd be worried he might be seen positionally as a weakness (I don't want to play down my players at all, but I've seen Quins expose him at 13)- however structureatters less as games progress and he is a tasty attacking player and not a slouch in more broken defence either

Re: Fantasy Premiership Season 1 - Homepage
I think I'm going to be alright. Will definitely lose Jane so along he's not injured. And the only other one I might lose to 4N is Pienaar. Meyer hasn't picked Brussow so far and Mumm could be selected for Oz but sure he's up in the North now so they won't bother.

Speaking of that, Driver if you'd like I can free-loan you either York or Wray if you're looking for a specialist 8 whilst Alberts is out

McCaw still best 7 in world so I'd play him there personally. Won't be marked down for playing 6 or 8 (Esp 6) but not as effective there.

6. Brown
7. McCaw
8. Picalmoles

Re: Fantasy Premiership Season 1 - Homepage
Yeah, but as was recently pointed out, if McCaw is injured or unavailable I am very vulnerable at 7. At least at 8, fantastic player though Picamoles is, I can cover well with Joubert, McCaw or Brown and York and Wray as backups. Fraser isn't enough back up at 7 on his own, and Brown and Joubert are not OS in any universe. Picamoles is class though, agreed

I love Picamoles, real class act.
Just a general question.......Are you strong enough elsewhere to waste a foreign on a backup player?

I would think a player that covers that back row would be a more feasible option for now? Maybe Higgy, Faletau, Denton or POM?

Re: Fantasy Premiership Season 1 - Homepage
Good question. I think the first 15 is pretty strong all across, maybe improvements at 1 or 4. But I can't really play another starting foreign player in my 15.
If the new Rennie bit is shot down, I may reconsider tactics

The thing is, aside from POM, the others aren't really 7s. I don't think one needs an out and out fetcher at 7 but I can't see those players working as L/R flankers either.

Faletau has played seven for Wales when Warburton was out during the world cup. Still a brilliant all round player. Tipuric?

Re: Fantasy Premiership Season 1 - Homepage
I don't rate Faletau particularly, not enough to put a bid on, not even as an 8. I think he's too easy to shut down and struggles as soon as there is any pressure on. I'd sooner go for Tipuric.

Tips is quality too but another natural 7.

Re: Fantasy Premiership Season 1 - Homepage
Really good 7, not so sure about his performances at 6 or 8. When ITFL comes back I might see if he'll part with Haskell.
Pooly, just looked at my squad, I'm pretty sure where I'm most vulnerable is to getting injuries as the 1st choices I'm happy with. In that case, utility may be the best way forward. That or my front row back up, but I can't risk not having a 7!
Mullan (wish I hadn't sold Marler, a little)
Brits
Nieto
Ryan (going to tour with Lions)
Borthwick --> becoming Matthews when he makes the England set up at the end of the year
Brown (going to lead Scotland and maybe tour with Lions)
McCaw
Joubert (not spectacular but works well with rest of BR)
Parra
Hodgson (most underrated player in AP at Club level? Maybe)
Mitchell (going to play for Australia again once he's fully recovered)
Allen (hope he's finally allowed to play in position for England, doubt he will)
Smith
Halfpenny (going to start for the Lions)
Goode
But the depth is satisfactory but a little lacking

Disagree with some comments but very strong.
TH could be an issue, Nieto slipped a bit latter half of last season imo and is no spring chicken.

Irish will def be up there, a lot depends on player form. Saints are rediculously strong too.
A few good signings and good luck with form could see anyone of 6 teams win.

How much are you looking for Robson mate?
I reckon Chiefs, Quins and the Sarries to finish higher next year. Might see Bath and Irish struggle a little next season, no offence Bathite or Pull!
CJ re you're team above, you could chuck SBW in there!
