The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Antananarivo Arms, Madagascar
First topic message reminder :
Hello and welcome to the Antananarivo Arms Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The Pub has made it's way to Madagascar, where 35,000 raucous fans recently watched the home side upset Namibia in a 110-point thriller.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of the Madagascan team war dance, Japan/NRL-bound Sonny-Bill Williams, Bradley Wiggins and the prematurely-retired Mark Boucher above the bar.

Morning all/bore da pawb, hope everyone's well?
Just a quick message from me today I think and tis for:
London Regs: I am in London for just under 24hrs this weekend, and just to let you know I will be in the Herne Hill area from twoish, and then Shaftsbury Avenue area from 6ish on the Saturday if any of you fancies a quick drink. Apologies for the extreme vagueness and the late notice but I've still honestly really not a clue what my plans are. Just figured as I'm actually there, would be nice to have a quick drink if poss, although I've no doubt you all have plans already! Drop us a text or PM me on here if you're about

Morning all, roll on 4pm for me (always good to start earlier!!) cooking for the g.f and my sis and fiance. They've decided to do it 'ready, steady, cook' style so I haven't got a clue what ingrediants i'll be getting!!
Nige seems to be building a nice backroom staff at Glos too with Windo coming on board as scrum coach.

Sure thing Gibbo if I see him
Really looking forward to tomorrow now. Getting to meet up with one of my Uni mates who I haven't seen since graduation (4 years ago now! ) then off to see Les Mis in the evening with my two best mates - it's going to be fab. Am trying to see if I can meet up with another uni friend in the morning too

It's going to be weird seeing Nigel Davies pitchside at Kingsholm. Or it would be if I had Sky Sports and was able to watch the Jeff.

I have T's links, Gibbo, and I'm grateful for them; but if I'm going to watch a match on my laptop, I have to really want to watch it. If I could watch the Jeff on the telly I'd probably stick it on.
Speaking of Ts, has anyone heard from Micky T recently?

Great match between the 'Canes and Chiefs (wrong 'uns) - Wellington's finest lead 18-15 at half-time, with a controversial tip-tackle binning from Kaplan

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Antananarivo Arms, Madagascar
dreamer - I'm going to be in Ealing watching rugby on Sat. We've started a 'summer rugby club' in the pub. This involves showing classic matches from dvds and downloads. I posted asking for suggestions a couple of weeks ago.
I think the 1974 (99 call) Lions tour to SA should be on the menu.
Text me and I'll see if I can get to the Shaftesbury Ave part of your day.

Can you get full-match DVDs of the 1974 Lions tour, Hound? I've always wanted to watch the '71 and '74 tours but all I've managed to find are brief highlights on documentaries about the history of the Lions.

Ok dreamer.
Lucky, my mate Andy got the dvd (+ the 1973 Baa baas v NZ game). Not sure if it features th3 tests in full. I'll find out where he got them. They were cheap too.

Morning all... looks like a try in the 84th minute.
Gotta say that was probably one of the best (top 3?) games of rugby I've ever seen... in over 40 years.
Relentless, high quality stuff, end-to-end. I'm almost happy I didn't tip the Canes...
28-25 final score
A weird balmy day here today... almost 23 deg. Not unheard of but a preview of spring in the middle of winter. Funny, cos it's also snowing heavily down south but the desert winds have prevailed for a day. .

It's a game I could watch over and over again - so many busts, yet brutal defence. The tries kept coming.... with a see-sawing scoreboard and then the final twist right at the end. Ripper of a game

Spoke to him briefly last week, he's in good form, busy with his band. Those tuba's won't face forward all by themselves you know.

It was a cracker, lucky.
A bit of dropped ball and turnovers but really quick counter-attacks... from both sides all the time. Kaplan did OK, but got a bad call from the video ref ('tip tackle' on SBW shouldn't have been a card) but essentially he let the game flow.

Amazing try from Sio from the Eels in the NRL. A diagonal kick from centre to wing at 45° angle and Sio diving, catching and scoring simultaneously.... with inches to spare!
Bulldogs still lead 10-6 after 20 mins.

Well many years ago, cows used to wander off and get lost. Someone had the bright idea of putting bells around their necks so they could be heard.
The cowbell is also used as a percussion instrument.

I used to get early finishes on a Friday, until one day head office called and there was no one here to answer the phone. Since then I've had to stay until four, even though everyone else gets an early finish and the phone never rings.
