frampton vs martinez 22nd sept
In the europa now, frampton vs martinez gettin announced plus a few others. I'll keep yas posted
Re: frampton vs martinez 22nd sept
Should be a good fight. I would love to see Frampton v Galahad and would fancy Galahad to be a bit to slick for Frampton but I don't think there is any desire on either side to make that fight.

Why are we not seeing Scott Quigg vs The Jackyl?!
I like Carl Frampton, think he is the best in Britain at the moment in his weight.

Galahad doesn't have the physical strength to keep Frampton away. He's the more skillful fighter but strength will prevail in this fight.
Quigg would eat up Frampton imo.

Quite an exciting domestic division with Quigg, Munroe, Frampton and Galahad. Would love to see a round-robin of that lot.

Re: frampton vs martinez 22nd sept
Just back, they didn't announce any other fights but the bill is going to have Lindsay, O'Kane, McCloskey, Jamie Conlon and Frampton v Martinez headlining it.
All the fighters were there except McCloskey.........must have had to do a bit of overtime at the shop haha.
Lookin forward to this now, gonna get a ticket after work, Selby vs Lindsay & Frampton vs Martinez is well worth the dollar!!
The O'Kane, Conlon and McCloskey fights will be beer breaks

Selby should wipe the floor with Lindsay. I can't see Lindsay lasting 6 rounds.

Derry Matthews and Paul Appleby (back when he was tipped for good things) also were supposed to wipe the floor with him.
Re: frampton vs martinez 22nd sept
Neither are as good as Selby he's a class act. Lindsay lost in his own back yard to John Simpson. He's a tough boy Simspon but not much else.

Re: frampton vs martinez 22nd sept
Nah I agree Kev, I expect Selby to win as well.
But I wouldn't write Lindsay off so quick. I was at that Simpson fight, Lindsays eye grew another head in the 2nd round so he was snookered fightin with one blinker. Think he would have done better.
Selby's win for me against Stephen Smith matches Lindsays against Appleby. And the Matthews KO for Lindsay is up there with Selby's against Simpson.
I think its gonna be competitive but again, I think Selby takes it. Would love to see Lindsay win and shake things up

I think Selby is a class above Smith, Lindsay and Simpson but I would like to see Smith v Lindsay or anybody against Simpson he's great fun to watch.

I don't like Smith to be honest. I think he robbed Simpson twice. I'm sure you agree with that Kev haha
Re: frampton vs martinez 22nd sept
Haha they were close fights but no way did Simpson deserve to come away with 2 defeats. Matthews decision over Simpson was worse that was disgraceful.

Re: frampton vs martinez 22nd sept
A step in the right direction for frampton.
Quigg will rematch munroe whenever he can as that is sill the biggest dust up domestically imo and is a sterner test than Martinez
However, frampton has fought mainly dross IMO and if he can do a job on Martinez it'll be a real statement of intent
I would rather haver quigg-frampton for a world title, adds a bit more too it and sets up a potential trilogy
Galahad needs to move down a division or add more muscle to his slight frame. Skill wise he's at the top for me but lack of power and physical strength will go against him vs big guys like quigg and munroe or powerful fighters like frampton

I agree, really think both Quigg and Frampton will end up with World Titles so would like to see them wait for a unification bout before facing each other,
Saying that I wouldn't be complaining if winner of Quigg/Munroe fought winner of Frampton/Martinez in an eliminator

Re: frampton vs martinez 22nd sept
I think Quigg will be the first to get beat tbh. Its just going to take someone who can take his shots to come up against him, then hes snookered. He tried to box on the backfoot against Arthur and ended up on his face and had to go back to the only way he knows how to fight.
Frampton has shown about 3 different sides so far so he looks the more capible of adapting if things aren't going his way.

Re: frampton vs martinez 22nd sept
Think Quigg and Frampton are both very good but may want to move along a little slowly they are in a division where I really can't see either being in the top 3 with the way things stand.

True Alex.
Would have prefered Frampton to get the Lonsdale belt before he went after this EBU belt.

Brian Magee and Karoly Balsazy also on the card, seems Hearn is stacking them up again. Definitely think I'll be attending my 1st live fight as a fan.

Re: frampton vs martinez 22nd sept
Quigg is 23, frampton 25 and Galahad 22 they aren't expected to be the best at present and are moving along nicely imo as they are still a year away from world title level
It's a pretty tough division but based on donaire's last few performances of not carrying the weight too well, nishioka's age, rigondeux's age/inexperience in the pro game and mares not being too big at the weight, i see no reason why frampton and quigg can't be knocking on the door in 18 months

I don't care if you were staff!!! You are going to hell for even being within a mile of a Martin Rogan fight.
I heard the Brian Magee fight was on the bill but there was nothing mentioned at the presser by Hearn about Brian and the big poster had every other fighters name on it, didn't say Brian Magee though so I'm not sure...

Aye mate, I head back over as much as possible. Celtic are playing Dundee at home that day so me and a mate are going to go to the Burns fight that night. Haven't been to a Burns fight since Martinez,so should be a decent night. Will be a terrible undercard though. Simmons and Johnston fighting tubes.

Sorry but I don't see them beating any of those 4 in the next 18 months. Nishioka in my view is a possibility, but that's purely because they could catch him on the slide.

Great fight, I'm just looking at the guys Frampton would have to beat to win the world title and it doesn't look good.
Donaire, Nishioka, Rigondeaux, can't see any of our British crop even coming close.

Nishioka could be gone by the time they get to that level, but there's still Mares, Vasquez Jr, Arce, Montiel is in the division (Perhaps a spent force) and Victor Terrazas are all more than respectable.

Rogan was quite popular before the 1st Sexton fight to be fair.
Brian Magee mentioned on his facebook last week he would be fighting for the WBA title on 22nd of September and BoxingNews24 mentioned it too although not the most reliable of sources.

Fight off. Martinez has pulled with injury but Steve molitor in as a replacement. Would be an excellent name on Carl's record should he win. I am going for Frampton close but hard fought UD.

Molitor pretty good replacement better than I expected to be honest when heard it was off. Just disappointing another Euro title shot has gone by the wayside.. Definitely a big step up though for Carl.

I think a comphrehensive will would move Frampton above Quigg and Munroe in the bragging rights at this moment in time.

Martinez Withdraws: Wheels Keep Turning for Frampton
Shame, i thought this would be a good match-up. Carl Frampton needs a step up and Kiko has the experience to offer him a challenge, for the early rounds at least. Still, a replacement is in place and the date is held. Let's hope that once he is through with this guy he really steps up. Would love to see him across the pond.
Thoughts?

There's not much going on at the moment on the board, so I was hoping for some leniency!

Let's hope it's a temporary lull with it being the summer and not anything to worry about
Hope so Alma, tends to go in peaks and troughs and given there are no big fights this weekend or in the immediate future would think things will pick up soon enough, if all else fails I'll do another Lewis thread or one slagging Eubank off.

Apparently it has cultured things to see as well... Can't say i'm interested in that stuff but if you are a fan then it has more than good bars.
It is also home to the greatest team in England (except Man UTD, Man City, Arsenal and Tottenham)

The only real downside is how close it is to S*nderland. We try our best to keep them out but sometimes the little cretins hop on the metro (without paying) and get through.
We really should get border guards.
