The Zone Virtual Sports Bar, Hamilton.
First topic message reminder :
Hello and welcome to the Zone Sports Bar, a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
This week the pub has set up in Sky City Hamilton, where the Crusaders take on the Chiefs in the Super XV semi final.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of Bradley Wiggins, Ernie Els, Irene van Dyk, Sonny Bill Williams and his newly capped All Black team mate Sam Cane.

That would only be one of the reasons mate. There are many others

That's the most unheard of thing I've ever heard of! Enough of this Aussie bashing! Now pass him a Fourex & slip that down ya!
On a similar matter to the seaweed contamination thing. They've started growing Japanese rice varieties here in Qld - they filmed a Japanese family giving it the ... or maybe they were just being very polite for the cameras?

Need to be careful - give the Japanese seaweed farming permits and soon there'll be whaling fleets parked off the Donegal coast.

It's ok there aren't any whales around here any more. They might bump off the odd porpoise.

You know what they do with pods of them? Horrific stuff.
I'm surprised 'word' hasn't got around the porpoise world. They're such trusting and human friendly animals.

While this pub may be lacking in experts on rugby , it does have a lot of novel readers, so has anyone in here read Foe by J.M. Coetzee?

I've just noticed something missing. We are no longer The Dew Drop, and we've 'downgradeded' from and Inn to a bar.
Have we become more Antipodes centric?

Evening all. Still warm here in Newport - but that's not a complaint!
Biltong, I'd like to think it was just a freak Test, but considering how consistently we bowled wide of off stump, I'm more inclined to think it was intentional. Stupid bowling in my book. You have to make the batsman play - as your bowlers did in our second innings.
It didn't help that we seemed keen to give our wickets away (Ravi Bopara and Matt Prior, I'm looking at you). It could be that they play too much limited-overs cricket, but some of our batsmen doesn't seem to have the patience you need to build a Test innings.

Re: The Zone Virtual Sports Bar, Hamilton.
I read enough comments of negativity on the cricket thread to last the whole series, I think England shouldn't make any changes and give the same guys the opportunity to correct their failures of the first test.
I agree the win was comprehensive, and the reality is I haven't seen the Proteas be that clinical for a very long time.
Doubt it will happen again, England won't allow it.
i do hope that we win the next one though.

Evening all. Obviously had such a lovely time in Skopje the other day, that I'm off back again. Only a flying visit there though.
I'll be honest though, as much as I love helping people get home from war, it does totally get on my wick that I'm getting pinged at such short notice to do it. Then again, who really needs to plan their life or get a suit fitting done for their brother's wedding anyway?
Excuse the whine

Well, it's no where near as valid as your whine Rev, but in for a penny...
Did my good deed for the day first thing this morning, pulled over a poor old dear who was running on a flat, when I say running on a flat, you could smell the burning rubber at 40mph and her rim looked like a 50p piece. Thought I was set up for the day after my Knight in shining armour trick, how wrong can you be?
Finished my job off today and dropped out the invoice for £1500, cash was agreed at the start of the job, but at 6.30pm after cleaning down and sweeping out the garage, I found myself the proud recipient of a Gregory - majestic, thanks so much.
I'm going away for three days tomorrow and am going to have a significantly less enjoyable time now on a much smaller budget, and they knew it.

Great to finally have some good weather though

Bore da pawb / good morning all. The other thing about weather like this is that it stays warm at night, even with the windows open. I woke up three or four times last night, sweating buckets (of sweat). I must have slept on my arm for part of the night because I can't straighten it this morning. No, it's not w@nker's cramp.

Yeah, I know, I saw that on the news last night too.. I had a phone call 36 minutes ago to tell me that she had no idea that having the cash meant so much to me, therefore she's going to cancel the cheque and give me cash on Monday - provided of course that I go there first to pick it up instead of going to start the job I'm supposed to be doing.
I wonder where the Government would put that kind of behaviour on the morality scale?
Picking up cash for a job is actually being paid for it, picking up a cheque doesn't mean a damn for at least 3 days.
Space travel has been a reality for well over 40 years, we live in the age of the information super-highway where you can electronically transfer money around the world in seconds... but it still takes at least 72 hours to validate a promise written on a piece of paper?
Trust me, some of the people I end up working with? You wouldn't spit on their promises.
Aaaaaaanyhoo, I'm off to Chester for a bit of shopping and Romanic culture, oh, and when I say a bit of shopping, I mean a TINY bit.
Thanks Bhopinder, living proof that money buys you neither class nor manners.
