The Zone Virtual Sports Bar, Hamilton.
First topic message reminder :
Hello and welcome to the Zone Sports Bar, a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
This week the pub has set up in Sky City Hamilton, where the Crusaders take on the Chiefs in the Super XV semi final.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of Bradley Wiggins, Ernie Els, Irene van Dyk, Sonny Bill Williams and his newly capped All Black team mate Sam Cane.
Previous pub. https://www.606v2.com/t32740-the-dew-drop-inn-virtual-rugby-pub-bridgend

Yeah, I know, I saw that on the news last night too.. I had a phone call 36 minutes ago to tell me that she had no idea that having the cash meant so much to me, therefore she's going to cancel the cheque and give me cash on Monday - provided of course that I go there first to pick it up instead of going to start the job I'm supposed to be doing.
I wonder where the Government would put that kind of behaviour on the morality scale?
Picking up cash for a job is actually being paid for it, picking up a cheque doesn't mean a damn for at least 3 days.
Space travel has been a reality for well over 40 years, we live in the age of the information super-highway where you can electronically transfer money around the world in seconds... but it still takes at least 72 hours to validate a promise written on a piece of paper?
Trust me, some of the people I end up working with? You wouldn't spit on their promises.
Aaaaaaanyhoo, I'm off to Chester for a bit of shopping and Romanic culture, oh, and when I say a bit of shopping, I mean a TINY bit.
Thanks Bhopinder, living proof that money buys you neither class nor manners.
Ah sugar, I wish I was still in Chester so we could meet up.

A girl in my netball team's (Ulster fan) boyfriend was the pitch-invader post-match at the HEC final. Apparently he got off with nothing more than being thrown out of the ground (normal practice is a life ban from the stadium) because he convinced the security guys that "Ulster fans always go on the pitch after the match"

Depends on what kind of food you like. Hickorys down on the river is a nice place for an evening meal. But if you're a fan of ale, my tip would to go to the Tap Brewery on Lower Bridge Street, where you can get some lovely local ale and some fantastic food which I know Rava would recommend.

Anyone know what the average rent is for a 1 bedroom apartment in belshaft, or even some decent areas near the city centre?

We have always known there's oil on the west coast of Cork Rodders, I think where it's found isn't far from the family house, pity we got rid of our boat!
If it brings jobs into the area and a good boost to Ireland it's hardly a bad thing.

That is not that surprising to be honest Lucky. Interstingly a family memer of a victim of the Columbine shooting agreed with me that it's the laws not guns that are the problem.

Re: The Zone Virtual Sports Bar, Hamilton.
It's not surprising that the numbers buying guns have increased, a good deal of Americans will have the mentality, which is somewhat crazy that "Well if I had my gun, I coulda shot him 6 times before he hit the ground".
As for the whole laws/guns thing, guns are a fabric of American society and many enjoy shooting for sport (I enjoyed it when I took part) the problem is that in some states guns are so easy to get, in Colorado they don't do a background check for example. The laws are the problem, state laws really.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the guy behind the shootings was a PHD student with no prior record?
In that case what differences would a background check have made?

A psychiatric test, some states delve deep into the records. Also some other states keep a record of what you're buying and he would have had ot have been scrutinised more to get all the weapons he had.

Based on what Thomond.
Do you know that this guy would have failed a psychiatric test?
He certainly wouldn't have failed a background check which is what your original suggestion was.

On the record. If Colorado had stricter laws, they wouldn't have lt these guys buy all the weapons he had unless he had a pretty good reason. You can't just go and buy out a whole gun shop in most states. They check your records clearly and don't sell it to you if you have a great deal of guns!

A heck of a lot less. I have mentioned before about concealed weapons in public places so by all rights the gun shouldn't have been in the theatre.
(As far as I know in some states you are not allowed bring your gun outside of the home unless going to a shooting range within a certain radius, special permits etc can be got for greater use)

Re: The Zone Virtual Sports Bar, Hamilton.
How many casualties are acceptable so that the gun lovers can enjoy their sport?
How exactly do you enforce a law that prevents you from taking your gun outside a certain radius of your house?
Do these guns omit GPS signals that alert the authorities or is their a stop and search done on every street?
How would you suggest that the police clamp down on concealed weapons? Metal detectors in every public place?

I would say that the fact that metal detectors are needed at all is a very big deal indeed. Especially in the land of the free and home of the brave.

It wouldn't be a huge issue, I would think. Anyone I've come across in my travels seemed cool with the idea, I think you fail to realise most Americans want stricter laws.

I've encountered a problem today, with this fine weather its become superb.for having a bit of a perv on the ladies, we all do it nothing wrong with it.
However there is a new fashion with the teens these days, really short hot pants, bow when I was 16-17 the girls wore hot pants as well but not like these. I can only describe these as denim knickers, these girls are 16/17 I shouldnt want to look at them but then again.........
I tell ya if they were my kids I wouldn't let them out of the house dressed like that

Agreed Hoog, but I would add that they really should stop making them any bigger than a size 14. Just seen a size 24 butt in a "pair" of size 16 "shorts".
Going to have to have another pint of Merlyn now to get over it.

Re: The Zone Virtual Sports Bar, Hamilton.
Hard to stop them Hoog.
I had a neighbour here about 8 years ago (single Mum) whose daughter was aged about 6 or 7 in about 2004. Tiny little kid then.
I was at a barbeque last summer and the Mum snaps at the daughter... "are you going to offer Tom some of that (food)... you remember him don't you?" I turned around and nearly get my face ripped off by her knockers. She was wearing hardly anything and the shoes made her well over 6'. The cheeky smile really caught me by surprise.
Later on I heard them arguing in the kitchen. Turns out she wants some belly button jewellery. Her Mum says: "I've told you before... you'll have to wait until you are at least 16!" What can you do except try and keep a responsible face when the mother looked at my reaction to their 'family discussion'.

Did my good deed for the day first thing this morning, pulled over a poor old dear who was running on a flat, when I say running on a flat, you could smell the burning rubber at 40mph and her rim looked like a 50p piece. :
Jebus PJ , not sure I want you staying at mine after all

However there is a new fashion with the teens these days, really short hot pants, bow when I was 16-17 the girls wore hot pants as well but not like these. I can only describe these as denim knickers, these girls are 16/17 I shouldnt want to look at them but then again.........
I tell ya if they were my kids I wouldn't let them out of the house dressed like that
Plus in Western countries, girls and boys are often sexually and physically maturing earlier than is "traditional". I've run into the problem (well, found out before it was a problem) of meeting a 15 year old who I would swear was 19/20. Got to be careful

Made up for ya T. I know just how much your local club means to you. Wish there were more of you.
