The Zone Virtual Sports Bar, Hamilton.
First topic message reminder :
Hello and welcome to the Zone Sports Bar, a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
This week the pub has set up in Sky City Hamilton, where the Crusaders take on the Chiefs in the Super XV semi final.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of Bradley Wiggins, Ernie Els, Irene van Dyk, Sonny Bill Williams and his newly capped All Black team mate Sam Cane.

Cool, I am actually feeling a bit lost at the moment, usually by now I would be watching my third or fourth match of the day already.
Can't wait for the kick off.

I've just seen that Thomond Park is the largest club rugby stadium in Europe.
That doesn't seem right.

Afternoon All
Seems like I missed quite a spectacle last night. Or was it really all "leftie multicultural crap" as described by one Tory MP? Trust one of their own to drop them in it. I went to bed early with a book as I was up at half five today. It was really quiet everywhere last night and this morning. They have said about a third of the UK population watched it on telly though.

It was fantastic. Quite left wing but if we went out all "Empire and Britain's
Glorious past and military" everyone else in the entire world would hate us even more than they already do

Rav, you have mail.
It's a boxer in the scandal I'd say. In other news I ran about 720m in 3 minutes after 400m running. Not too bad.

CJ - I'm glad they included the Industrial Revolution and the NHS - maybe that's what he didn't like. Industrialisation is an integral part of British history, many of our towns and cities exist because of it, and it covers all corners of the UK too. I've been looking at some photographs, looks great I must say. I was told Macca's singing was rubbish though.

Re: The Zone Virtual Sports Bar, Hamilton.
I only heard it as I was going out the door but athlete competing in an individual event for team Ireland. Other than Kearney in the Judo today I don't think many are competing in one on one events. Badminton maybe but I took it as this person hasn't competed yet I thin kthere was badminton on today.

I wish I'd been able to stay up, but there's no way I could've got up for work if I had watched it, and it was on until late here.

It has been confirmed David Pocock is leaving the Force. They have lost comfortably their best players. Worrying times ahead for them.
Whoever signs him though is going to get themselves a game changer.

ACT Brumbies have signed him (or are about to) Munsty.
Miao Miao has just won her first table tennis match.
I hope they have a big saucer of cream waiting for her back at the Village.

Nevin is looking good here. Well the commentators say he is anyway. I struggle with the nuances of this sport.
Breaker,
How about that for the Brumbies. They lose the find of the year in Hooper and sign probably the best player in Australia to replace him. I have to say, I'd be surprised if the Rebels don't make a play for him.

He seems to be doing well Munsty, he is getting hits in and your man isn't doing much. I think that's when you tell he is doing good. Keeping your man from gettign close with quick jabs. He has this well won.

Okay, even by the end of that I could see that he dominated. He looked really good. You can tell though he will come up against a lot tougher boxers.
They're waxing lyrical about him on RTE.

Yeah, but he is a good prospect. I think Beijing's gloves made it easier to tell when points were scored. They had white parts at the top which helped. It's more or less any solid contact to the body or face gets you a point if you hit with the top of the glove I think.

If Wiggins gets Cavendish into a sprinting position from here, Cav will owe him so much... Genuinely screwing up his own Timetrial chances to help Cav here

He did win? Munsty, he is on a grant with the Irish council round 40k or so is what the top athletes get boxers would be around the same I'd say. He looked good and I don't think he is well fancied to win so we'll see what happens.

Hound, have to agree the Beeb commentators were truly abysmal - only dawned on them with about 20k to go that the GB team had screwed it up badly when it was clear that the breakaway group had a whole host of strong riders and was not going to get caught. Was serious rose-tinted glasses being used by Boardman and Porter and almost outrage that the rest of the countries out there weren't helping to set up Cavendish for a gold-winning sprint up the Mall. They weren't helped it has to be said by the near total absence of time checks between the breakaway group and the peloton, not to mention occasionally telling us who exactly was in the breakaway group. Boardman and Porter only discovered with 20k to go that Vinokoourov was in the breakaway.
Hope to god the time trial next week is covered a whole lot better by the Beeb.
