I asked Olly to do it - I'd went off my computer so I got him to do it. Normal service will now be resumed!
The heat is on, the time is right, it's time for us to play our game. Let's go for gold!

And the Dutch score! Feel for the hockey and badminton players, how you can be down so quickly and the day hasn't really begun.

Re: Olympics Day 4!
It seems we stand a chance to win a second medal in the swimming this evening. Chad le Clos is swimming in the 200m butterfly, he qualified for the final in the second best time.
I sincerely hope he wins a medal tonight at this point in time our medal hopes are so thin, I'll take any colour medal.

If we are lucky our mens fours could reach the final today in the rowing.

Poor day for GB so far. Swimming medal hope Ellen Gandy didn't even qualify for the semi-finals, we're out of the women's archery and quite a few Judo fighters have been knocked out. On the plus side, we're still doing well in the rowing.

Annalise Murphy has 3 wins out of 3 in the Laser class in sailing, great start but I think there are 10 races so long way to go!

Re: Olympics Day 4!
Percy took first in the first race in the star class to increase his lead over the fleet...!
Great work by the twice gold medalist
And the wonderful Alison young got second in the laser radial, a smaller sailed version of the men's laser class, a fantastic result in a close knit fleet...
Ben ainslie took third in the Finn class putting him back in second over all

It really doesn't like right, people playing in colours on Wimbledon.

I think the whole no colours thing is a bit of a joke personally. I like people wearing their nations colours in competiton.

Do they not just play in random colours though normally?

Yeah they do, my point is I like when they do wear them which doesn't happen often.

what does that mean.....he's out completely and no medal? (sorry i dont follow that sport). The pressure really is on Wiggins tomorrow to produce for GB, it's getting embarrasing now that as a host nation we've won nothing and we're getting on into the later stages of the first week.

I don't think it's embarrassing at all. Realistically we've only had one shot at gold, with Mark Cavendish in the road race. Rebecca Adlington was an outside shot for gold in her event.
I think you're expecting far too much if you call our efforts so far embarrassing.

Re: Olympics Day 4!
maybe 'embarrasing' was too harsh but we really should be on the board by now in terms of gold. We finished 4th overall in terms of golds in china i think, so its not exactly a great start and cycling is not going to reward us this year with as many golds in the velodrome because of event cutting and the opposition have closed the gap.
When you think of it, China did superb before the beijing olympics by focusing on developing athletes for the non-mainstream events where winning gold was far easier......maybe we should of done the same. Hopefully the rowing and wiggins will provide us with precious gold medals soon and then adlington also has a chance on friday.

No individual medal in the eventing alas...
Team silver will have to do. A reasonable consolation
Germany or Sweden for the gold ?
...and the Swedish lass hits the last
Congrats Germany double gold ...

So no medal in the individual eventing or in the women's 10 m synchronised diving final. Also, the British no.1 in the badminton has been knocked out. Only positive this afternoon is Andy Murray through to the third round. Fingers crossed at 16:30 for the women's gymnasts.

Quite a spectacular result. The fleet she is racing in is rammed full of world and European champions.
This heavy weather that is being seen in Weymouth is really suiting both Annalise and Alison of team GBR who posted two second places today.
But Annalise Murphy has won four races out of four and all by a considerable margin really has shown the world of women's sailing that The hard work of the Irish Sailing Association in youth sailing has really paid off.
This girl is outstanding.
Good news for her is we will be getting stronger winds for the rest of the week.

GB lose in the men's basketball 62-67 to Brazil which makes 2 losses out of 2. We've also failed to medal in the women's team gymnastics and Laura Robson has lost in the tennis to Sharapova. Maybe the water polo will put a smile back on Britain's face.

2 more hopes to add to the GB medal collection tonight; Caitlin McClatchey in the women's 200m freestyle final at 19:41 and Hannah Miley in the women's 200m individual medley at 20:43. Also, there's the GB women v Brazil in the final group game of the football at 19:45 (GB already through) and the men's volleyball v Australia at 20:00.

Yes they are. I'm sure they're team has a five times world player of the year in it too.
Every time we attack we look threatening. Massive turnout at Wembley too. Great stuff.

Were both sides playing with their best teams though? Not watching it but they're both through so doesn't seem like much need.
Should be added that while Marta is the best like Argentina, her team are not the best at international level.
