I have a feeling Beth is going to end as the nearly girl of Gymnastics ....I hope not but would be such a shame...she just needed to stick that dismount a little better and she would have got a 16+ score...

Aah ...just that stumble on dismount has cost her a Gold medal
Think she will hold on for Bronze ...well I hope she will hold on for Bronze ...just one more to go ...

Re: Olympics Day 10
Yes Beth!! Bronze get in their Girl...get it on the medal table BBC!! Such a fanastic way to end, she left nothing behind and as always went for it and this time she get's her just deserves.
4 Medals in the Gymnastics this year, we are going from strength to strength...plus we have the Vault coming up later.
Female Hockey team into the Semi final's so chance of Bronze even if we lose in the Semi Final...
Two boxers guaranteed Bronze with another 3 to come today...looking like a decent day again for the Brits...
Anyone know how we are getting on in the Show Jumping?
Dont worry just had a look...another clear round for Nick..looking very good for Individual and Team medals...
And in the 470 sailing class our lads had a good day closing the gap to one on the Australians...we are in 2nd and a long way ahead of 3/4th so good chances in that one.

Re: Olympics Day 10
A few years ago if you'd have told me Britain would win four Olympic medals for Gymnastics I'd have called for the men in white coats
A lot of that improvement is down to Beth , for showing the way...I am so glad she finally got an Olympic medal to go with all her World titles etc. Just wish she had nailed that dismount and taken the Gold ...
Given the team's showing this time , I think a gold medal may well happen for someone in Rio.

Definitely. It's not that many years ago that British gymnastics was considered something of a joke. Now we are considering it a bit unlucky that we didn't pick up a gold and a couple more silver medals.
Very happy for Tweddle that she has eventually taken an Olympic medal of any colour - I seem to remember she got stitched up by the judges in the last Olympics, and that the difference between gold and 4th was only something like 0.1 points.

Re: Olympics Day 10
Bauge has won plenty of these big Championship races before though, which could be the difference! Whereas Kenny only won his World Title after Bauge was disqualified, I think that is right, but I'm rooting for Jason; I just can't believe he is such a heavy favourite (4/11), desperate for him to prove me wrong though!
Well done Beth!

Re: Olympics Day 10
Now's the time for everyone's favourite moment of a track cycling championships. The lovely Laura Trott in the Omnium. Can't wait to see her Elimination race (bet she screws it up now.)
GB one good round away from a gold in the team show jumping too.
Kenny looks so so fast this week. I think he justifies his short odds, but we'll see. Bauge looks a bit off (his team sprint starts weren't as amazing as normal.)

Ack. One fence down.
If the Dutch go clear they win gold and GB silver - one fence down and it's all square. More than 4 faults and GB win gold.

A majestic performance from Katie Taylor in the Boxing against a really tough opponent in Britian's Jonas. So much pressure on Taylor, indeed there wouldn't be Womens Boxing at London 2012 if it wasn't for Taylor.............................

I think watching a tie-breaking round of show jumping is pretty well the ultimate in tension for the viewer...you sort of jerk your hands up at each jump and mutter "up!"...or at least some of us do
I know , I am getting just too involved in all this
Olympic tragic , that's me ...

IOC very uneasy about putting womens boxing in for the first time in 2012...............i think the brilliance of Taylor over the last few years helped a lot...........im no expert but a lot of the stuff ive been reading has said the same............

Trott and Kenny smashed it. 3 more golds up for grabs in the 'drome. Pendles and Trott looking good, King Hoy to take the keirin.

So they completely changed the Cycling rules in the hope of stopping our domination...
Since it has failed I am slightly worried that they may just end up taking it out of the Olympic Programme completely next time.
