Olympics Day 9
Right, someone else fill this in if need be. I need to get my breath back, I need to calm right down. 6 golds on Day 8, we've wiped Atlanta away, more golds today, come on sailors, come on Christine, come on Andy, come on Louis Smith, LET'S SMASH 20!

Is it 100m finals this night as well?
Really hope Bolt wins. Not even sure why, he's just really likeable.

Re: Olympics Day 9
I really hope Blake wins the 100M final. Bolt just irks me a little sometimes, and I think he knows that he isn't 100% fit and therefore is very vulnerable. I mean Blake, Gay, Gaitlin and Bailey can all run sub 10 seconds, and Blake, Gay maybe Gaitlin can get close to the Olympic record he set in Beijing

Either that or hes taking the urine and will run sub 8 backwards while exposing himself to Tyson Gay to determine what to call him. If he goes for his ear its Tyson and if he goes for his balls its Gay.

It's tomorrow Bill...............in fact it's fascinating the way the Top 4 are positioned. In reality, the 3 medals can only be won by the Top 4 and will be decided purely by how they finish in relation to each other.............the 1 point lead 1st & 2nd place has has NO relevance.................
Hope Annalise can do it
1 | Lijia Xu | China | 33 | |
2 | Marit Bouwmeester | Netherlands | 33
3 | Annalise Murphy | Ireland | 34
4 | Evi van Acker | Belgium | 34
5 | Alison Young | Great Britain | 52 |

John Joe fighting tonight for a bronze at least. Some time after 8, Katie might be fighting as well.
There's the Omnium lad who has an outside shot at it too.

Martyn Irvine think he is 6th with 2 races left, he can take a medal but it is not very likely.

Would be a bit stupid not too. Although it will be good for Murray to have more rest after a quite tough schedule

If they do use the roof, that's bad news for Murray who wasn't as good in the Wimbledon final after the roof closed.

Even if technically it didn't have an effect, the fact that the two coincided means there might be a psychological detriment to Murray because of it.

I think that they are saving that if Andy is loosing, technical issue with the roof so restart the match

The GB men's foil fencing team gave it a right good go in the Quarter-Final against World Number 1 Italy but came up just short, losing 40-45. Still, it was a top top effort.

Irish Omnium fella slipped to 14th. Two off top 10 with 2 events to go, he can certainly crack the top 10.

In the men's omnium, Clancy of GB is second with two events - 15KM Scratch Race (17:01) and the 1KM Time Trial (18:16) - to go.

Re: Olympics Day 9
The Scratch is where it will be decided for Clancy. He should be Top 1 or 2 in the 1KM Time Trial but he isn't quite as strong in the Scratch so if he can do well there he could be in with a shot of gold

Re: Olympics Day 9
Given that Clancy will 99% win the 1k time trial, he just needs a good scratch race to give himself a great chance.
It's only a short scratch race and it gives riders limited opportunity to take a lap. It'll generally come down to a bunch kick and he'll be favoured to finish near the front.

Silver seems so disappointing right now! It's still a great achievement, shame they couldn't hold on, it was right there! Come on Ainslie.

Can I just ask why the whole of the mens Olympic tennis tournament is played over 3 sets and then the final is over 5 sets? Seems silly to me
