First topic message reminder :
Here is the place, to discuss all of Norwich's results this season, on our quest to reach that 40 point mark, and Premier League safety.
It starts on the 18th of August away to Fulham, and finishes away to Man City sometime in May

This week against Liverpool hopefully lol!
Seriously tho the chances and performances are there, we just cannot hit the net for some reason. It's so annoying but it will come, hopefully this week

Chris Hughton confirms that Harry Kane, Jacob Butterfield, and Alex Tettey will all feature in a much-changed but strong side against Doncaster Rovers in the Capital One Cup on Wednesday night.
Hughton also confirms that Mark Bunn will play a part against Doncaster and 17-year-old Academy winger Josh Murphy will be in the squad.

1st half - Half decent game, Tettey scored. Legend.
2nd half - I literally wanted to stick needles in my eyes. It was that boring.
Overall summary - Tettey and Butterfield looked good. We still cannot finish our chances for some reason. Hopefully Kane aint injured for too long. And Chris Martin literally played worse than a Sunday League Footballer.

Never predicted you would go down last year...but I did say you will be back in the championship where you belong next year.
And you have spent most years down there in the prem era...So you belong in the championship.
Would like you to stay...easy 6 points for United every season.

If every team the belonged in the Premier League played there according to your rules, we would have about 8 team in the Premier League as the rest would have spent most of the Prem era in the Championship, so they "belong" there. Nobody belongs anywhere.
And when we played you last season, we were far from a easy 6 points. Hell Sir Alex admitted in the game at Carrow Road we were the better side on the day. So I don't know where you get that assumption from.
Enjoy throwing the title away again this season, I sure as heck won't be rooting for you

Well your not a regular premier league side so you belong in the Championship.
Sir Alex just felt sorry for your club...Enjoy getting relegated again.

No Sir Alex actually can actually comprehend a football game, and on that day he knew and said we were better, which we were.
I sincerely hope we beat you, then I want to hear what you have to say.
And what do you define as a regular premier league side? Cos by your rules it seems half the league belong in the Championship.
Quite frankly, you need to get your head out of your arse

Since the inception of the Premier League Swansea have spent 8 years in the 4th tier, another 8 years in the 3rd tier, a further 3 years in the 2nd tier and are currently in their 2nd season (deservedly) in the top flight.
So I take it they belong in either of the bottom two divisions? I'll toss a coin on whether they belong in League One or Two.
Damn this promotion malarkey!

Regular premier league sides who are in the league most seasons not at once in a blue moon club like Norwich who fluked staying up last year.

Not a good performance from us at all today. Finally start scoring, but then we decide to stop defending!
Think it would be best for us if we just played one up front in either Holt/Morison, then we can have Hoolahan in the team. We were just overrun in midfield today. Also the sooner Bassong and Pilkington are back, the better. Surman and Turner were utter tripe today

Personally, I like Jackson, he works hard for the team, but he misses to many chances, and doesn't have the composure in front of goal for this league. I would only use him as an impact sub, against tiring defences.
I would start with this at Chelsea (injuries permitting)
I think that is a much better team, and structure than what we have in the 4-4-2. I would drop Johnson and bring in Fox/Tettey, I like Johnson, but he gives the ball away far too cheaply. Bassong will hopefully be fit, if not Ryan Bennett has to start, not Turner. Hopefully Pilks will be back, if not Benno must start out wide, and not bloody Surman. Hoolahan needs to play in behind Holt/Morison, and that works well for me

I wasn't too confident for your team this season Olly and nothing I've seen so far has really changed my mind, no doubt you'll still believe you'll stay up but is there anything that appears to be obviously wrong at the moment that can easily be changed/fixed in the hope that it'll signal a change in results?

Laughable excuse Norwich are just very weak throughout 6/7 positions in the team it is a miracle how you did not go down last season. We were just overrun in midfield today.

Hughton doesn't have the balls to swap players like previous manager Lambert, there's a reason Newcastle dropped him for Pardew.Kay Fabe wrote:I wasn't too confident for your team this season Olly and nothing I've seen so far has really changed my mind, no doubt you'll still believe you'll stay up but is there anything that appears to be obviously wrong at the moment that can easily be changed/fixed in the hope that it'll signal a change in results?

Suarez the guy who can't hit a barndoor for 3/4s of the season destroyed them the same as he did last season. It was practically the same team that lost to West Brom and Arsenal and Norwich make them look like Barcelona.

It was also the side that outplayed Man United last week and should have won that game. This result has been coming for a few games for Liverpool.

TBF to GSC, he has been saying that throughout.
Hopefully Bassong when he is back fit again we will look good defensivly again like we did when he was playing and moro and holt getting a goal should boost there confidence a bit.

Olly I'm in the same boat as GSC here, as much as I like Norwich as a club and a place and a mate of mine played with them, I was always of the opinion that the loss of Lambert would be the difference this season, as of yet I'm still to be convinced otherwise.
I don't think you'll be cut adrift, I think there is a lot of teams in the bottom half around the same level I just feel that the loss of Lambert will prove to be a fatal blow, still, as you correctly point out, it's far to early yet to throw in the towel however I don't think you should bite at anyone who doesn't share your enthusiasm

The challenge for Norwich and Reading is can they get more points than Wolves last year, tbh both teams look championship run of the mill fodder. It didnt help with Grant Holt handing in a transfer request.

Chelsea away tomorrow!! I believe we can get something, but that is purely heart over head!!!
This is the line up i would like to see tomorrow providing all being fit:
Ruddy
Martin-Barnett-Bassong-Garrido
Snoddy-Tettey-Johnson-Pilks
Hoolahan
Holt
If not Bassong/Pilks would have both the Bennett's come in. Jphnson and Tettey to sit to try and nullify some of chelsea, we wont be able to out attack em in an open game

We got Arsenal at home next. Not too confident lol.
Then Villa away which is becoming a big big match, almost a derby type match. Which isn't good, because Lambert's teams usually do pretty well in derby matches

Olly - great result for you against the Gunners. Based just on MOTD highlights, you've looked very wobbly at the back this season but seemed a lot more solid yesterday. Hopefully, confidence and a defensive pattern will now grow.

We were very solid yesterday, like we were in the Spurs, QPR and West Ham games. Just need to build off that now. It's hard to change that team for the next game, but I would still like to see Fox/Howson come into the team at some point for either Tettey/Johnson, but the way they are playing at the moment you can't drop either
