Nail Your Colours to the Board...!
First topic message reminder :
I noticed a number of other fans on here finding that it often gets confusing as to which team other posters support.
Wondered if others would like to contribute a little about themselves and who they support and why.

Rabo team, Jeff team, ozzie team, french team...........
Surely you can only really be a fan of one or two depending on professional/amatuer status
I follow Musselburgh (local team) and Edinburgh (nearest Pro side)
I can't say I'm a fan of an english team, an ozzie team.......... I never have, nor ever will go to any of thier games (unless they come to play Edinburgh)
Go Global! I won't hurt your main allegiance. That's part of the appeal of the sport - we are free to support (in varying degrees) whoever we want. I think that's great.

It's like being back in school where guys would support various football teams from various countires
"I support Celtic, Man city, Barcelona, Bayern Muncih, AC Millan............."
Still each to thier own I guess.

Re: Nail Your Colours to the Board...!
Ulster through and through, have to admit fruit ball was my first love until I was introduced to rugby in P6 thankfully. Ever since then its been rugby, rugby, rugby. Being there to see the win in 1999 ensured I would never look past rugby again.
Also got to confess to being fond of Leinster, but that is due to the admiration of one BOD who has lit up the rugby scene for so many years. The man is a leg-end

I think you can only be a fan of one side. I am a Scarelts supporter. However i have soft spots for other sides where I will always want to see them doing well, unless it is at the detriment of the Scarlets.
Edinburgh - my sister lived in Musselburgh for a few years and two of my neices were born there.
Bath - my sister went to uni there, and one of the first sports tops i had was a Bath training top (bought as a pressent as she knew I liked rugby, and rugby is rugby right?)
Munster - the irish side of my mothers family are from Waterford (and I think my Dad has relatives in Cork).

NATIONAL = Wales
RABO = Ospreys (supported Swansea before I moved to Cardiff)
CLUB = Cardiff Saracens (lived in or around Cardiff for over 26 years now. Have been Secretary, Treasurer and now Chairman)
SUPER RUGBY = Chiefs (one of the Sarries longest serving captains is from The Waikato)
ITM Cup = Northland (my friend is from Te Kao on the Aupouri Peninsular, Northland) or BOP (his wife is from Te Teko, nr Whakatane)
TOP 14 = Clermont Auvergne (from Stephen Jones’ time there)
AVIVA = if pushed, I would say London Welsh.

tigertattie - if others are like me then I support the Scarlets. That's my team and they are who I watch when able to, whose tops I buy and where I take my young son. The Scarlets are the side I get most emotional over (even more so than Wales).
The other teams in other countries I try to follow on TV and have no emotional attachment to, just would rather they win than the others in that league.
No I live in Castle Park now as do my parents. My in laws still live up there though so I still spend most of my life up there. I played a little bit of football for most of the teams that have come from there in my younger days, Ceaharris, Dowlais Labour, Dowlais itself, then Unison.

Never played football, can't control anything with my feet. Playing for Unison Im guessing you work PCH. Worked theremyself for a while. The ex wife lives in your neck of the woods too, I don't suppose you're an old Morlais Tavern or Belle Veue drinker. If so we must know each other.

I drank in the belle vue for years I used to be a member of the upstairs club and I used to go back to the Morlais in Dowlais for post football refreshments every weekend.

maes, did you post this article in the hope that sub-standard WUMs like Sugar n Spikes would came tell us who they support? I think he's a Bath fan anyway. Or if he was formerly Cyril then a Leeds Carnegie and Man City fan.

Ospreys and England. Swans, Stoke City in Football.
Didn't really follow rugby until I started to come to Swansea in the mid 90's. I got hooked when my future father in law took me down St Helens to see the Whites. Started to watch the O's when they moved to the Liberty. Been to a dozen or so Wales games at the MS (and yes cheered them on!) but its England when it comes to internationals. A good laugh come 6N time in local pubs..

I must know you and you must know me. Our family business are opening a shop around the corner from the Belle Vue as we speak, it will officially open a week Friday(today). It is next shop up from the Natwest Bank with the alley inbetween. My old man will be running it. Also, I used to do a little bit of the Dj'ing in the Glebeland club, and I played pool for the Belle Vue 'B', we won the MUGS cup in our first year then Steve Darlow decided he only wanted one side in there.

Exeter Chiefs are my team and I can't see that changing. Brought up in Bristol so have a soft spot for Briz. My father lives less than a mile from the Mem but is now a Chiefs convert
