The Corso Marauders Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Amsterdam
First topic message reminder :
Hello and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub, a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The Pub has made its way to Amsterdam in honour of original publican Gibson who is finally back in gainful employment. One small step for man ...
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of former Corso Marauder Lawrence Dallaglio or young ice hockey prize winner (thanks to the v2ers) Chris Boyd.

Re: The Corso Marauders Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Amsterdam
Thought this was funny- Asbo can testify that Paul Marshall had a complete brainfart at the end of the game at Ravenhill on Friday and kicked the ball out, backwards, when there was time left on the clock. Meaning Ulster had to defend deep in their own territory late in the game when Glasgow still had a chance to score again and take a LBP.

So if you look above you can see lots of photos of him from training today sporting the official Pink Jersey that's designated for I guess the Ulster Rugby equivalent of "D!ck of the week". It's nice to see that kind of standard rugby club banter in a professional setting.

Welcome back prop.
Re the Lions. The rest of the coaching team will be announced next month.
Forwards - Rowntree
Backs - Schmidt
Defence - Edwards
Attack - I would appoint a coach with the remit to pull the other three traditional areas into a coherent strategy to maximise the Lions' attacking opportunities. Keep the Aussies on the back foot, because their defence is usually excellent.

Sorry, those would be my choices - not necessarily who the management team will select.

Nice one As and Glas.
Night all. Fatty's leg. Covered a shift and it felt like I loaded around the same as Heathrow handles in a day.

Sounds good. Rowntree and Edwards are certs I would say though. Having worked alongside Gatland on the last Lions tour and been successful since then.

I'm off for zzzzs, but before I go...
We need to think about attacking Oz at every opportunity. NZ have this mentality, especially on turnover ball. Hence my thinking on appointing an attack coach. Open to nominations on that front.
Night folks.

Evening all,
Spent today in work catching up since Thursday, nice way to spend a few hours. On the way up from guildford now on a fast train for once which mist defo is a Brucie Bonus
Big shout out to Asbo for another fine weekend in devon. He even organised the village to put on a game of cricket for me. Great day out, gutted I couldn't score a run though.
The spanels ears were top notch Thursday night though.
How is everyone anyway??

Not too bad Hugh, have to do a bit of writing tomorrow for the Journal and another place, the parents 25th anniversary was yesterday so we kind of had a celebration for that. Along with our stupendously astonishing, that was well received.

Yeah not to bad T, was ruined Sunday coming back up on the train with asbo after the weekend though. Two of us actually were in fairness although I didn't have the luxury of "power naps" over the weekend unlike the elder statesman

Re: The Corso Marauders Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Amsterdam
I really like this Pub. Reminds me of good times past. Just like last weekend.
Met this guy in a shoarma (kebab) shop, at 2 in the morning, not long before he fulfilled his prophecy and jumped off a high building. Don't blame me. Major speed-freak. But he was Nederland's Zappa incarnate. He signed my shoarma bag. Wished I hadn't been so out of it and had kept it. But I still treasure the moment.
This is a Clog vid of him apologising, to a boer, for shooting one of his cows in de arse, in the dark, from a moving train.
I loved Herman Brood.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&v=4qXh2YSc56I&NR=1
He could sing as well.

Michelle Obama just won her husband another 4 years, to try and turn the Yanks into a civilised race. A thankless task.
She was magnificent. Stunning, vibrant, highly intelligent and crystal-clear in her words. Maybe she should take over from him.
Have a nice day yall.

Morning all. Heading west again today. Brizzle Parkway beckons.
I see Gatland has warned the Lions players (not that he's selected any yet) not to behave like England on tour.
No rift there then already.

* Scarlets (December) - the Penfros, Shovey, Glas (en famille?), Rev, Staggy (maybe)
* Leinster (January) - Hoog, Dinghus, Gib, Georgie&Michelle, a selection of Micks (tbc), Puma (?)
Unless I hear otherwise, I will get tickets to at least cover the above (and a couple of spare)
Have taken care of Clermont tickets (with some spares just in case) and Hoogie is away to watch some amateur game between the Dublin4s and Llanelli, and I'm about to book Exe vs Scarlets (altho I recall that Rev may be away on a secret mission somewhere so may have to drop out, but again I'll get a few spares JIC). Glas, how many for you?

At least it wasn't a golden - playing and missing three times against that attack is no mean achievement! Did you mention that you bowled the losing ball as well?!Hoog wrote:Evening all,

He didn't have to mention England by name, As. In the context of discipline and conduct he said " We're all aware of what happened at the Rugby World Cup and the issues that arose."
I wasn't exactly scratching my head thinking which team at the RWC might have prompted that comment.

Think domestic will do. International stamp needed from Northern Ireland to Republic, but Republic to NI is domestic.
Or was it the other way around?

Starting to get excited/nervous for Friday evening. Will soon see if the Scarlet result was merely a one off or something we can really build on.

Morning! (just...)
Well I've picked a fab week to have off. It's baaayoootiful outside just waiting in for a delivery then I'm off out again. Too nice to be indoors.
I bought something on eBay recently. Yesterday me and the Dutch seller were emailing back and forth about postage and things. Turns out she's a big Munster supporter based in the Netherlands. (Has Eirebilly got kids? ) She's really nice anyway. We had a good chinwag about rugby. She goes to Limerick a few times a year as she knows people over there. It just made me chuckle how we went from on about one thing to rugby...
